Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World

Chapter 438: Test Of Love, She Feels Inadequate.

*Sniff!*

Kael took a deep breath of the fresh oxygen-rich air, filling his lungs with the cool sensation of breathing.

His boots padded the pavement without pause, his footsteps light and heavy at the same time. His stride was measured and projected his confidence and domineering aura.

"It feels different to observe it in person," Kael said, a light smile forming on his face.

The sun was warm.

Kael was not walking on just any pavement though. He was directly on his way to the official home of the elected president of this nation.

The area around him didn't have many buildings and it was mostly filled with wide gardens and vast lawns.

This place was grand, fitting for the place where a nation's president should live.

Even the walkway Kael was walking on was made of inlaid compact concrete tiles, each of which was highly valuable with intricate designs etched onto its surface.

Every statue that Kael came across was exquisite, showing fine craftsmanship and telling of the effort the mortal artist had put into them.

Everything was all so…mundane.

Kael sighed, his golden eyes resting on the large presidential mansion ahead.

In this nation, their president was elected and as long as he had enough votes every three years, he could continue remaining President.

Kael found a lot of issues with this model of politics but since it wasn't his business, he just let it go and didn't think too much about it.

He wasn't here for the president though.

He had come here to meet his first son who was currently messing around in this place at this time. Actually, he had come specially because of his son's little romantic interest.

Kael wasn't mad that she had been sneaked in against his orders. Before, he would have been thinking of a befitting punishment for Ozia.

But by coincidence, Isabel had created the perfect punishment for Ozia.

'Ah, the lesson is going to be brutal, but he'll survive. If he can't even handle a broken heart…'

Kael thought to himself while smiling. He shook his head, thinking to himself how Isabel had taken Ozia for a fool.

Kael himself wouldn't have found out if not that he was here by himself and was paying attention to everything.

He had not yet reached the mansion but he could feel the blooming fiery soul of the fetus…

////

"Babe, does this scarf make me look fat?" Isabel asked Ozia inside one of the many bedrooms of the mansion.

She stood in front of a wall mirror and posed while flaunting a white fur scarf and a red dress.

She looked very stunning and the red dress matched her red hair. Although all her fox features were gone, she was still breathtakingly beautiful.

The whole master bedroom was doused in the sweet smell of a perfume that Isabel wore.

"No dear, it looks perfect on you," Ozia said while lying on the king-sized bed and looking ahead at Isabel's curvaceous body.

"Meh, I don't like this one," Isabel said as she removed the white fur scarf and tossed it to the side.

"That's all the scarf belonging to the President's wife in this country," Ozia said, feeling helpless.

"I know right? Babe, why don't we go to that monarchy! I hear that their queen loves quality fashion," Isabel turned around and said while moving toward the bed.

"Seriously? That's the fifth time you want to do this. Why don't we just wait until we go back to the arkship?

Those zebra tailors subcaste are very good at creating nice clothes." Ozia said as he eyed Isabel's curves.

Isabel pouted, "Babe! Don't you want to spend time with me?"

Ozia raised his eyebrows, "Of course, I do. I'll do anything for you!"

"No you won't, that's what you just say so that I won't disturb you! Am I a disturbance Ozzy?" Isabel looked sad. She sat on the edge of the bed with a melancholic like in her eyes.

She seemed genuinely sad and worried about what Ozia thought of her.

"Why would you say that? Do you know how much I love you?

Is it just because of some clothes that you are saying this?" Ozia was distressed. Seeing his lover like this got him angsty. He wished to provide eternal reassurance so that she would never question his love again.

He didn't understand why she always questioned and tried to make him drive his love to her by making him do 'things'.

And all while she asked him to prove his love to her, she never once proved her love to Ozia, not even sex which was supposed to be the most basic activity in a romantic relationship.

It was completely one-sided and Ozia knew it, but he was still clinging to the attachment he had with Isabel. The bond he shared with her was something he couldn't get anywhere, not even from his mother.

With her, it was always one test of love or the other. This was a side of their relationship they had carefully hidden from the world.

"It's because she feels inadequate," The deep and masculine voice of a powerful man echoed into the room.

The window pane shook slightly and a golden hue flashed across the room.

Suddenly, an oppressive aura was felt from all corners. It was as if they were in the presence of an almighty existence that could crush them with a thought.

The unmistakable desire to bow before this force came upon Isabel and Ozia.

"Father?" Ozia panicked. How could he not recognize that voice and the familiar aura?

"Yes," Kael said as he looked at his image in the mirror.

Ozia and Isabel's eyes widened as they got off the bed and stood by the side. They couldn't understand how Kael had gotten here. It was as if he had always been there, standing in front of the mirror, they were the ones who didn't notice him.

Kael sensed their shock but he was busy observing himself in the mirror wall.

'I look good…' He thought while gently using his fingers to smooth the edges of his black and white robe.

"Isabel feels inadequate with herself," Kael stated without turning back while keeping his hands busy with the fabric of his clothes.

"Your Majesty," Isabel hurriedly bowed. She didn't understand what Kael was trying to imply but she didn't dare not to greet.

Ozia did the same, "I don't understand Father," He said.

He was still surprised to find his father here. No one had told him the exact time that Kael would be coming and no one had told him that this would be the first place the King would visit.

Hearing Ozia's interest in his words, Kael continued, "Isabel is not a royal like us, Ozia.

She's not even on Vixy's succession line.

The only good thing she has going for her is you and she is not really satisfied with just that.

These clothes…"

Kael turned to look at the pile of clothes on the ground, "...They all belong to women who have attained the highest status in society. Some through their husbands, some by themselves.

Isabel feels insecure when faced with genuinely high-status individuals who actually earned their place in the hierarchy.

But there's nothing she can do about it except compensate in other places and make herself feel better.

Wearing and trashing the wardrobe of these human women is her own way of asserting her importance in her own mind.

I have to say, it's quite crude as if it were someone smart, they would have spent their time improving their strengths or resources rather than coping."

Kael spoke uninterrupted and everything pierced the ears of Ozia and Isabel. His words were like hot molten metal poured into the depths of their hearts.

Especially Isabel, her shoulders trembled and beads of sweat formed on her pale forehead.

All that Kael said was very close to the truth. Isabel really suffered from an inferiority complex.

Kael was not afraid of saying these things to her. He couldn't care less about how she felt, she could jump off a building for all he cared.

She was not a useful tool, not an asset, no investment, and not strong, not until…

'Oh…' Kael smiled as he turned around to stare at the couple.

He ignored Ozia and landed his sight on Isabel's body.

His golden gaze scanned her from top to bottom. Blue and red runes flashed in his eyes and his vision pierced through her clothes and skin.

"Father…" Ozia wanted to speak up, noticing that Isabel was looking very uncomfortable.

Kael raised his head to silence his son, and he continued scanning Isabel's womb.

"Interesting, it's better than I thought. The probability of it turning into that thing is high," Kael said as he withdrew his gaze.

As soon as he looked away, Isabel was overcome with a strong nauseating feeling.

Unable to decide whether she should take permission or not, Isabel ran into the bathroom and began vomiting profusely.

"I forbid you from hiding or tampering with it," Kael's telepathic message bashed into Isabel's mind, not caring about her condition.

"Isabel? What's wrong?" Ozia asked out loud as he tried to move to the bathroom.

"Ozia!" Kael's stern voice stopped Ozia in his tracks, "Do you remember that talk we had that day?"
