Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World

Chapter 197: Pyramid Den

The following morning, Kael and Chloe could be seen walking side by side in their natural forms.

Kael was moving but his mind was on his energy reserves.

Unlike other lions, Kael didn't have one energy pool that powered him. Rather, he had multiple pools of energy to tap from.

He had a separate energy pool for his fire powers, and he had another separate energy pool for his lightning powers. It was the same for his space, vegetation, spirit, fortune, metal, air, and war powers.

This was what gave him an unfair advantage against other creatures. Not only did he have multiple sources of energy, he was also very versatile.

It was reasonable for him to last longer in battles and survive against creatures with greater power levels than him. If he couldn't do those things, then it would mean the Primordial Lionheart was wasted on him.

His only limit was output and skill which could be solved by evolving to more powerful tiers.

In theory, Kael could have a consort band strictly consisting of fire lionesses. But that was in theory, the contract would only work for one fire lioness and would immediately cancel out if another fire lioness tried to sign a consort contract.

So technically, he could still have hundreds of lionesses to himself like Bethel, the second Primordial Lion, but only a few would truly be contracted with him.

Kael didn't have the Bethel's so he didn't think much about it. His mind mostly revolved around getting powers instead of getting consorts.

All of Kael's energy pools were then connected to a separate energy pool that was filled with somewhat unusable golden energy.

This energy pool lay at the depths of his Primordial lionheart like other lions, influencing his physical appearance and other borrowed powers with every heartbeat.

Kael had theorized that this was his main energy pool for being a Primordial lion, but he didn't know how to absorb this energy.

The only thing he had ever used this golden energy for was to power the Lion System, Contracts, and The Conqueror Mode.

Apart from that, this mysterious energy pool mostly remained unused and dormant.

Kael felt that this mysterious energy pool was very significant. If he wanted to get stronger, he had to understand it and control it fully.

N'bayé and Darius had been able to evolve to tier 4 because they eventually understood the nature of the lionheart and tigerheart and the energy source flowing from it.

But theirs was easy compared to Kael's. N'bayé was already extremely smart from the start, comprehending how her magic energy worked and gaining full control of it.

It was the same for Darius, his was just electricity, and it was very easy to manipulate it compared to the Law of Conquering.

Kael had made some progress in understanding himself and The Conquering but it wasn't enough. Hence, he's currently stuck between tier 3 and tier 4.

As far as Kael was concerned, the best way to recover this heart-based energy was by eating.

"Over there," Chloe's voice interrupted his thinking, bringing him out of his introspective state.

Kael's pupils shrank as he stared into the distance. Far away, at the edge of the horizon, Kael saw a rising structure with a pointed tip.

It was too far away for him to make out its exact shape but he could tell that it wasn't a naturally formed object or a mountain.

More squids and octopuses could be seen around, all of them squirming to reach the distance structure.

Not just squids, but multiple other creatures could now be seen. There were more birds in the sky and more humanoid sharks traversing the land.

There would occasionally be a pride of aquatic lions making their way to the same place. It seemed everyone had gotten wind of the news and were hurrying to not be left out.

None of them knew what it was, but greed blinded them. Many of them had heard a rumor that this treasure, whatever it was, to help them evolve and reach power levels never heard of before.

This was just a rumor but many of them believed it. After all, anything that could help them evolve deserved to be called.

They also weren't far from the truth.

"So, besides the heavenly beacon, there could be other things of value lying around here?" Kael asked Chloe as they walked.

Clear cries of large birds resounded from above. Avians of many kinds and power types flew with excitement and greed in their eyes.

"Yeah, this is looking more like a tomb than anything. If so, then there should be some other valuable items besides the heavenly beacon." Chloe said.

Kael nodded and flexed his neck, preparing himself for a fight.

They continued walking, taking their time to reach their destination.

As they got closer, they could finally make out exactly what that structure was.

A pyramid.

A very large pyramid.

It had a black and red exterior, the black parts looked like metal sheets, and the red parts looked like concrete blocks soaked in blood.

The structure was simple and orderly, exhibiting the care the architect had taken to build it. The whole pyramid emitted an aura of something ancient, older than the world itself.

The size was impressive, Kael measured and was sure that the visible base of the pyramid was at least two kilometers wide. From the visible base to the pointed tip, the height was also close to two kilometers.

A pyramid whose edges were 2.45 kilometers long, the most stable structure Kael had seen to date.

This pyramid wasn't like the Egyptian pyramid from Earth which was very simple in structure compared to this.

The edges of this pyramid had long silver rods that lined from one vertex to the other. These silver rods provide strength to the whole structure such that even a world-shattering earthquake wouldn't do anything to the pyramid.

"Hmm, not what I expected," Chloe said, eyeing the pyramid with a suspicious gaze.

"What is it?" Kael asked.

"It's a pyramid," Chloe said as if she expected Kael to understand what she was trying to say.

"I know, how does that change anything?" Kael asked, annoyed that she wasn't elaborating.

"Oh sorry," Chloe remembered that Kael wasn't from heaven, the things she considered basic knowledge didn't apply to Kael who had grown up in this world.

"The pyramid, it's the most used shape for we lions. Most of our mansions are pyramid-shaped. In fact, all of them are pyramid-shaped.

Where some creatures would live on trees, underground, or at the top of mountains, lions prefer building pyramids.

Pyramids are the standard structure for a lion's den. It's simple, it's structurally strong, and it can be scaled to any size artificially.

You might have thought that in heaven we had our lion clans living in mountains and caves right?"

To Chloe's question, Kael didn't answer.

"Well, you having a mountain to yourself in this world is understandable, you don't know the lion culture.

In Leonine Heaven, we have Pyramid Dens of different designs and sizes.

Not just in heaven, the worlds that we conquer would have pyramids built there to serve as bases for the lions governing those said walls.

Any planet that you may come across and find a pyramid-shaped structure there, could very well be the work of a lion architect."

Kael sighed, he didn't even feel like rebuking Chloe, she was telling the truth and it was a bit depressing.

He had conquered a mountain, snatching it away from a tiger, and turned it into his center of command.

Now that he thought about it, it was laughable to the lions who came from heaven.

While he renovated mountain caves, true lions lived in luxurious pyramids, he was a thorough savage compared to them.

'But aren't there pyramids from Mayan and Egyptian civilizations on earth?' Kael suddenly remembered some history subjects from his past life.

The nation of Egypt had pyramids and he remembered that the Mayan civilization had a pyramid used to make sacrifices to a god called Kukulkan.

Kael shook his head, it was probably a coincidence. After all, there were detailed historical records on how such structures were built by humans, not lions.

"So, does that change anything?" Kael asked Chloe.

Chloe nodded her head, "Yes, it means this isn't a tomb, it's a den, meant for a powerful lion to live in.

It also confirms our conjecture that this world was once ruled by lions in the past.

If the heavenly beacon is here, it means that the lion king was killed here, or he chose to die in this place.

This means that there are definitely other treasures inside, but there are definitely defense mechanisms too.

It's dangerous, very dangerous, Kael. It's also the first time I've seen an ancient Pyramid Den hidden inside a pocket dimension.

There are so many things wrong with this place.

Who knows, the lion king might still be alive, the pyramid could be acting as a prison for whatever killed the lion king.

All the spatial disruptions, the secrecy, the fortune suppression, the unstable coordinates, the entrance to this pocket dimension.

Whoever built this place didn't want us to find it, but he or she also was expecting us to eventually come here at some point, and that is not exactly a good thing,"

Chloe said with a serious look as she narrowed her hazel eyes.
