Reigning Supreme in Every Reality

Chapter 28: 28: The Frozen Base

(Tony sold his weapons and missiles which are now in the hands of terrorists/ten rings meaning the US military is trying to cause chaos and benefit from it.)

"Nah~ Temporarily decline and tell him I'm busy. If he wants revenge, he should fly west and find other branches of the Ten Rings."

Lyon flew toward the nearest Eagle military base.

There were currently seven such bases within and around Afghanistan. In the coming years, this number would increase to nineteen.

For such a backward small country to have so many bases built around it, it's clear that the intentions of the Government are anything but innocent, with its ambitions glaringly obvious.

On this trip to Afghanistan, Lyon originally planned only to eliminate the Ten Rings. The follow-up plans would be slowly advanced in the future.

But the little girl he encountered at the beginning of the night made him change his mind.

After all, since he's here, in the middle of the night, not doing something extra would be unworthy.

As he descended over the base, the air raid sirens quickly resounded through every barrack.

These well-trained soldiers were more alert and efficient than terrorists.

Before Lyon even made any hostile moves, each machine gun was already aimed at him.

The communication equipment outside the base began issuing threats: "Intruder, land now! Stop where you are! Otherwise, we will open fire immediately!"

The overbearing tone, the swiftly gathered troops, and the uniformly aimed gun barrels all made Lyon sneer.

He never considered negotiation as an option.

When dealing with a group of hostile people who like to talk with their guns, the only time to speak is after you've beaten them into submission and pain.

Lyon straightened his chest, inhaled, and exhaled a chilling breath.

He chose to use his freezing breath to deal with the enemy.

Whoosh!

A fierce wind suddenly arose.

The bone-chilling cold wind instantly swept through every corner of the military base.

Following the cold wind came layers of rapidly spreading solid ice.

The layers of ice climbed up the surface of the base buildings like vines, invading the interiors and freezing all weapons and ammunition solid.

Even the troops within the camp were not spared.

One by one, the soldiers quickly turned into ice statues.

However, the layer of ice on them was much thinner.

When the entire base was enveloped in ice, transforming into a frost-covered, crystal-clear castle straight out of a fairy tale, Lyon stopped.

He nodded in satisfaction and then raised his fist, striking the base's wall with force.

What seemed like a light, effortless punch that shouldn't have caused any harm or disturbance—

Crack~crack!

However, fine cracks immediately began spreading from the point of impact, rapidly extending across the entire structure.

When the cracks reached a critical density, the wall beneath Lyon's fist instantly collapsed, shattering into pieces encased in ice.

This part of the wall's collapse was like the first domino to fall.

Soon, the surrounding walls also began to break apart, and the entire military base was plunged into a chain reaction.

The walls, made extremely fragile by the freezing temperatures, could not withstand the force being transmitted through them.

One by one, the buildings crumbled.

It was a spectacular scene.

Starting from Lyon, every building in the base, along with the items inside, crumbled into ruins one after another.

The sound of the collapsing structures wasn't heavy; instead, it became particularly pleasant, as if the ice blocks were striking a melodious note.

For a moment, the continuous sounds of solid matter shattering and ice colliding with each other were like the simultaneous breaking of thousands of jade pieces and the resonant cry of phoenixes.

When everything had broken apart, the once vast base complex had turned into a field of debris.

Various jagged fragments, reflecting the moonlight from within the ice, lay scattered across the ground.

"Wow~♫"

Lyon landed on the ground, his steps on the rubble making crisp crunching sounds.

In front of him was the only thing left standing in the military base—the soldiers of the US.

Thousands of soldiers were unconscious, encased in ice. Though they would undoubtedly suffer long-term effects, their lives were spared.

Lyon's control over his power was precise to the extreme.

He had destroyed all the base buildings and weapons, yet the soldiers inside the base were unharmed.

Even the lingering injuries he left on them were intentional, a "small punishment for a great lesson."

"Using my brother's weapons as they pleased. They asked for it."

Lyon murmured a few words, and his eyes quickly turned red, emitting heat rays.

These heat rays, which could reach temperatures surpassing the surface of the sun, were capable of incinerating everything in their path.

However, when they swept across the ice sculptures of the soldiers, they merely thawed them.

Such meticulous control.

"Ah! Ah! So cold!"

"He.. his powers.."

"He—he's Superman! There's a Superman in this world?!"

"We just provoked Superman?!"

As the soldiers were thawed, they collapsed to the ground, hugging their bodies or each other, rubbing furiously to generate warmth.

They looked at Lyon, standing on the ruins, too terrified to even breathe loudly.

Even a few lieutenant colonels among them, distinguished by their three-striped shoulder insignia, didn't dare utter another arrogant word.

"Now, I'm officially informing you: withdraw from Asia within a week, or I will return. Don't say I didn't warn you."

The ice under Lyon's feet reflected a ghostly blue light in the moonlight.

In the eyes of all the soldiers, Lyon at this moment was like a cold blade, hanging above their heads, ready to strike at any time.

The crowd was utterly silent, no one answered, and no one dared to speak.

Lyon didn't wait for a response.

Boom!

After leaving his warning, he took off and flew away with a boom.

These grunts, along with the few mid-level officers among them, didn't have the authority to agree to a withdrawal order like that.

He needed to continue demonstrating his strength to make the American big-wigs temporarily cautious.

To completely resolve the ensuing disputes, he would have to deal with Hydra and perhaps withstand a nuclear bomb in the process.

"The next target is 26 kilometers to the east. Try to resolve it within a minute!" Lyon suddenly accelerated in the air.

At the first base, it seemed like he did a lot and took a lot of time.

But in reality, from the moment he arrived above the base to the moment he shattered it and left, it actually took less than three minutes.

So Lyon planned to deal with all the eagle's bases before the seven or eight satellites overhead could react.

That's right, in the past hour, the number of satellites monitoring Lyon had increased.

First, the USA added two high-precision satellites.

Another satellite was sent by the neighboring Canada, noticing something was off with the neighbor.

Then China's, then UK's then Russia's, and more came, with the usual ones joining in, making it look like a conference was being held right above his head.

Lyon didn't mind at all.

He even wished every country would broadcast the event live, letting those who had long suffered under the Hydra-influenced US govt. see how he dealt with their bases.

...

Meanwhile, Tony was still on his way to the scene.

"Jarvis, what do you think Lyon means by not answering my calls and running off to mess with military bases by himself?"

Tony asked while flying and talking to Jarvis: "That should have been my job!"

"First, sir, do you mean you also plan to attack the American bases in Asia?" Jarvis inquired.

"Attack? That's not the right word, Jarvis. I'm just helping them relieve their anxiety over having too much ammunition!"

"I understand. You plan to, like Master Lyon, destroy the firepower and drive them out of the region."

"That kid plans to do that?" Tony smirked. "He's always stealing my thunder!"

"I'm doing this because the miitary unauthorizedly gave Jericho to a terrorist organization, so I'm going to demand an explanation. What's his reason?"
