Reigning Supreme in Every Reality

70: Saving the City and Farewell

"Lyon!" A voice called out from the entrance of the police station.

Jill Valentine, still dressed in her signature blue denim vest, pushed the door open and walked in. Following closely behind her were Brad and Carlos.

"Jill?" Lyon was surprised to see her here.

"Thank you, Lyon!" Without saying much, Jill ran up to him and gave him a deep, heartfelt hug.

Not far away, Ada, who had been opening crates and preparing the bombs, glanced over at the scene. Her face remained expressionless, but her eyelids lowered slightly.

Jill held onto Lyon for a few seconds before letting go.

"I honestly didn't expect you to save Brad! He got infected while covering me before, and I... I don't know what to say, Lyon. Thank you, really, from the bottom of my heart!"

Lyon had already heard too many thank-yous today.

Meanwhile, a fully-recovered Brad also approached, expressing his immense gratitude before introducing himself.

Lyon simply waved it off, saying it was no big deal. The real issue was rescuing the people of Raccoon City, who were still suffering.

He figured it was time to give everyone something to do.

'Otherwise, the police station is going to turn into some kind of 'Praise Lyon' cult,' Lyon thought, feeling the need to steer the conversation away from more thank-yous.

"Jill, what are you doing here?" he asked, trying to shift the topic.

"I came to find you. You're going to save Raccoon City, and I want to help!" Jill responded earnestly. "But when I first got here, only Brad and Old Man Kendo were around, so I went out again to look for more survivors."

Seeing Lyon again, Jill seemed to have so much to say. Even before speaking, her eyes were already communicating emotions she hadn't yet voiced.

But just then, Ada walked over. "Boss, when are we heading out?"

"Huh? Boss?" Jill was momentarily confused. "Aren't you from another world? Is she from your world too?"

"Of course not," Ada replied smoothly. "I'm Ada Wong, a former federal agent, the one you guys had contacted once, yeah, I look like this and now I work for the Boss." Once again, Ada was inventing a fake backstory for herself.

She stood naturally beside Lyon, her posture suggesting a closer relationship, which caused a subtle shift in Jill's expression.

"And, actually, I've had many names," Ada added with a sly smile, "Ada Wong is just one of them."

"Then what was your original name?" Lyon asked, genuinely intrigued.

In his previous life, Ada Wong was always a mysterious character in the games, and no one knew her full background.

"My previous names don't matter~. When I met you, Boss, I was called Ada. From now on, I'll keep that name," Ada replied, her words shocking everyone around them into silence.

Different emotions flickered in their eyes—Marvin and the others looked surprised, Bard seemed thoughtful, Sherry was confused, and Jill appeared stunned.

At that moment, Lyon heard a quiet reminder from Jarvis in his ear: "Sir, Mr. Stark has instructed me to remind you, when encountering situations like this, to be wary of deception from strangers."

Jarvis was speaking through a high-frequency sound from a distance, knowing Lyon could hear him with his super hearing.

Lyon couldn't help but smack his forehead. "That Tony... even across worlds, he's still meddling."

"Tony?" Ada's calm expression wavered slightly, confused as to why another name had suddenly come up.

"Uh, I mean... I'm touched, really, Ada," Lyon quickly explained, though Ada's expression became more nuanced, clearly not feeling the same as before.

"That Tony must be quite important to you? Or does this Miss Ada look like him?"

"Yeah, he's a diva pfft!"

Jill couldn't help but burst into laughter beside Lyon, not even bothering to hide it.

Ada turned her head and exchanged a glance with Jill, both of their eyes carrying some unspoken meaning.

"Ahem, alright, alright, stop standing around. Let's get moving and stop staring at each other!" It was the veteran police officer Marvin who could read the atmosphere well, stepping forward and giving a loud command.

The bustling scene in the hall resumed quickly.

Ten minutes later, everyone had geared up. The group split into small teams of three, leaving the police station and heading to various districts of Raccoon City to distribute the vaccines.

Lyon didn't join the others on their rounds. To increase efficiency, his responsibility was to freeze the outer layer of the entire city using his ice breath.

Meanwhile, Jarvis and the others were tasked with eliminating zombies and dispersing the vaccines.

Their job was simple: throw out vaccines when they encountered people, and toss anti-virus bombs when they came across zombies.

The anti-virus bombs were scatter-type explosives that, upon detonation, released countless tiny needles filled with serum.

The needles that pierced into the zombies' bodies injected the serum inside them. It didn't take long before the virus within the zombies became inactive, causing them to die as a result.

The vaccine's mechanism was even simpler. Once the container shattered, the vaccine naturally evaporated, spreading throughout the nearby area, allowing anyone who came into contact with it to naturally develop antibodies.

Lyon started off by flying through the air, carrying Sherry on his back. Little Sherry wanted to come with him, and Lyon, who has adopted the role of a big brother easily complied. He floated around the edge of the city, flying along the outer buildings while releasing his freezing breath.

Soon, the entire city's surface transformed into a world of frost. Every zombie on the streets became encased in ice.

This time, Lyon lowered the temperature further. The zombies, now like frozen statues, died quickly as the rapid freezing process caused ice shards to form within their bodies, piercing through their cells.

As for the remaining zombies inside the buildings, they were left for the others to deal with at their own pace.

...

With the new vaccines and serum, all operations progressed smoothly.

However, the efficiency of ordinary people was still too low.

Two hours later, the group responsible for clearing the city finally returned to the police station.

By this time, Lyon had already returned to the research facility and performed a full body disinfection.

But when everyone gathered once again in the police station's lobby, each face was filled with excitement and joy.

The Raccoon City rescue plan had successfully come to an end, and it was a resounding success.

Unfortunately, the world consciousness did not offer any further "gifts" at this moment. It seemed it didn't care much about the salvation of a small city like Raccoon City.

"Mr. Lyon, you really saved this city!" Marvin and Jill, along with everyone else, expressed their gratitude to Lyon.

At this point, there were thousands of people inside the police station, most of whom had gathered along the way as survivors.

After learning about what had happened, thousands of people began chanting Lyon's name in unison, their voices so loud it seemed like they might break through the station's ceiling.

'Ugh! Don't cry like that.. What am I supposed to do with them all being like this..'

Lyon wasn't particularly interested in the scene of admiration. Like how Tony Stark would deliver a speech, he kept it short with phrases.

"I just created the antidote. I'm powerful, but I can only imagine what you guys have gone through.. Many of you have starved, hid in terror, fought the zombies, seen your loved ones die.."

"So clap for yourselves!"

"Celebrate your vigilance!"

"It's not me! It's YOU!"

"You guys! YOU are the real heroes!"

Everyone had tears in their eyes and a silly smile as they chanted his name again and again.

He gave them a reassuring smile and quickly launched himself into the air, away from all of it.

...

Half an hour later, after Marvin, Jill, and the others had finished settling the survivors, they gathered in the meeting room.

Lyon got straight to the point: "I'm planning to leave temporarily, returning to my world for a while."

Seeing the worried expressions on their faces, he gestured for them to calm down, signaling that he hadn't finished speaking yet.

"Don't worry, I'll be back soon. I just need to test the time flow between the two worlds to ensure I don't stay away from my own world for too long."

"Before I leave, I'll have J.A.R.V.I.S. remain here to assist you."

"It has already gathered all the evidence of Umbrella Corporation's crimes. Whenever you're ready, you can expose it to the world."

"Additionally, since Umbrella treated this place as a testing ground, I doubt the higher authorities, even the U.S. government, will have a positive stance on this."

"So, you should prepare for an early evacuation. I suspect that once any side realizes what's happened here, they'll wipe out the city to erase all traces."

"Don't miss me too much, guys. I'll be back soon."

Lyon casually said his goodbyes, but the people in front of him, who had only known him for a few hours, were filled with reluctance to see him go.

Sometimes, emotions come unexpectedly. Some people may spend years together yet remain strangers, while others, with just a single event or word, can form a deep bond.

"A-Are you sure you're coming back?" Ada Wong looked intently at Lyon. "Ehm* I haven't even received my salary yet."

Lyon gave her a light hug. "Does this count as payment?"

"...Still far from enough." Ada placed her hand on Lyon's chest, her fingers tracing the contours of his perfectly sculpted muscles. "Now we're getting closer. Nice body, big boy~"

Lyon was left speechless. He snapped his fingers. "J.A.R.V.I.S., assist everyone in their tasks, and support them in combat if necessary."

Afterward, he patted young Sherry's head, reminding her to listen to Ada and Jill. He then gave each person present one final hug.

Finally, he waved at them and said, "I'm off. Goodbye, everyone."

As soon as Lyon finished speaking, he closed his eyes and activated his dimensional travel ability.

For the return trip, he didn't need to search for the right world. In the chaotic space, the bubble representing the Marvel universe automatically surfaced.

Behind that bubble seemed to be a vast cluster of chaotic bubbles, but aside from the world he came from, all the other bubbles were shrouded in dark shadows.

Lyon understood that these represented the Marvel multiverse.

He locked onto his destination and paid the same amount of energy as when he first arrived.

In the next moment, Lyon vanished before everyone's eyes—disappearing without leaving any trace of spatial disturbance.

After the initial surprise wore off, a heavy silence fell over the room.

"To be honest, I already miss him," Marvin joked, trying to lighten the heavy atmosphere.

"He was truly genuine. From start to finish, he never lied to us. It's our luck that the world consciousness found a savior like him."

"Did you know?" Marvin continued, "Our police department was supposed to get a new recruit yesterday."

"His name was also Leon—Leon S. Kennedy."

Elliot chimed in, "Oh yeah, I remember! At first, I thought Lyon here was that new recruit, haha."

"But now, who knows what happened to that recruit? He's been missing for an entire day."

"Hopefully, he's still alive and, like our Lyon, someone who can make everyone clap for him."
