Redemption Of The Yandere Villain

Chapter 111: Beginning or Start of an Ending?

The execution, held early in the morning, concluded swiftly.

When the empress was placed on the guillotine, her body seemed lifeless, but her eyes burned with hatred and anger. She refused to look at the man who would end her life. Instead, she raised her head and fixed her gaze on the sky, as if mocking the heavens for their indifference. It felt to her as though the world itself derided her ambition—a cruel jest at her desire to carve a presence when she could have lived a quiet, invisible life as empress.

So what?

Her only regret was failing to secure a future for her son, her only flesh and blood, whom she had selfishly used as a pawn in her pursuit of power.

Maximillian had been right.

Whatever torment awaited her son would be the inevitable consequence of her sins.

And yet...

"Lincoln, my baby Lincoln..."

For the first time, the empress's cold, unyielding eyes softened, a trace of warmth and sorrow flickering within them.

"I failed you as a mother. Hate me if you must. Curse me, if it eases your pain. But if there is another life waiting for you, I pray you are no longer born as my child."

As the empress's final words hung in the air, the crowd erupted into cheers. Citizens screamed their praises for the new emperor, their ignorant voices a deafening chorus of approval.

The empress chuckled bitterly, her voice barely audible beneath the roaring crowd. "I curse the gods and all their creations. This world, so merciless to those who see it clearly... Let my blood stain this ground as a harbinger. May the blood of the wicked soon follow."

With the clanging of chains and the swift descent of the blade, her head fell to the ground.

At the Ven Church...

"Your Holiness, the empress is dead."

Bishop Veroncio lowered his head solemnly. A heavy unease hung over him. The fall of the former emperor and the empress felt like ill omens, signs of something dark brewing beneath the surface. The church had already sensed that misfortune followed each passing day—a pattern that could not be ignored.

If this pattern persisted, the empire's people might begin to believe that the gods had withdrawn their protection. Such whispers could tarnish the church's reputation, leaving it vulnerable to criticism and revolt.

Yitiach hummed to himself, a faint trace of boredom etched on his face.

The previous night's events had excluded him from the excitement, much to his chagrin. Still, he found solace in the treasure he had procured—a prize he had demanded from his brothers as a reward from the emperor. It was no ordinary gift; he had secured guardianship over the prisoner of war who had been kept hidden within the palace walls for months.

However, his mood soured whenever he thought about Eugene's interference. The audacity of that man to interrupt his carefully laid plans and even issue a direct threat—daring to forbid him from laying a finger on Milan.

What irritated him further was his brothers' inability to challenge Eugene's stance. Kaizer's unexpected support for Eugene and his thinly veiled warnings had left them all with no choice but to relent.

For now, Yitiach could do nothing but bide his time. The "toy" he had found remained untouched, locked away in a secure place where no prying eyes could find it. Though his fingers itched with anticipation, he forced himself to exercise restraint, keeping the prize hidden and waiting for an opportunity to reclaim control.

"Your Holiness, this is a serious matter!"

Yitiach frowned, the annoyance flickering across his face.

What's the point of all this fuss?

The world would end, regardless of their efforts. Let people kill each other, let the empire crumble into chaos once more—it all made no difference. To him, it was merely the inevitable fate awaiting them all, the punishment the heavens would deliver to every soul.

It wasn't just their empire that would fall. Artha itself, as he knew it, would be destroyed. When the judgment day finally arrived, he was certain that every living being, every existence in Artha, would vanish. Even the planet itself would cease to be.

"Prepare for the canonization of the saint," Yitiach commanded coldly, "Let him spread the word of God, blinding the people with false promises of saving grace."

Bishop Veroncio's face contorted with fear.

He couldn't believe it. There was nothing the church could do now, no way to beg for the heavens' forgiveness.

At the same time Eullian, who had been walking around the church, was soon informed of his canonization. He stopped in his tracks and gazed up at the sky, a smile spreading across his innocent face.

"It's fun isn't it?"

Dancing around not knowing your fate.

His focus was on one person, and that alone.

No matter what the church did, or how they spread the gospel, Heaven would never forgive them. Artha was nothing more than a plaything in their eyes.

It was like an experiment, testing the limits of human evilness. At what cost? Being careless enough to allow certain beings to awaken their consciousness and disturb the world. Such entities should be eradicated, so as not to spoil the heavens' entertainment.

Eullian glance at his hands and tried to control his divine power.

He found it frustrating that this body couldn't help him accomplish his goal. If only he could get close to Eugene, he could imprison him, strip away the power he had stolen from the Goddess of Fate, and have him sealed forever in the Judgment Hall of Heaven.

That's right. Eugene had long been detected by the heavens, but they knew he was being careful, avoiding the use of his power to hide from their watchful eyes. There was no choice but to send down one of the gods to possess a body and lure the target into their trap.

"Hahahaha" Eullian let out a low laugh.

"Amazing, this world is amazing."

On the other side.

Eugene, who was lying on the couch, squinted his eyes.

He hadn't attended the empress's execution because he had been preoccupied with thoughts of Lincoln's whereabouts. In this critical moment, without access to their life records, he was unaware of everyone's fate due to his lack of attention to them.

Adding the fact that many have gone missing without him knowing, Eugene felt funny.

Raphael, who was supposed to disappear, is still here, working as an informant. Meanwhile, Chantall, Lincoln, Milan, Clarence, Cadmus, Rasiel, Klius, former Emperor Iselus, and Vincent all vanished in one night after the rebellion.

His brothers have been hiding information about this, but Raphael is a skilled servant and managed to uncover everything in just one day. He discovered that Milan has been hidden by the pope. As for Chantall, he is curious about where she has gone, as she suddenly left the academy without notice. He is also puzzled by Clarence; this situation is unusual since, in the past, Clarence had only one outcome, and disappearance was not part of the story. The same goes for Vincent, who was supposedly protected by Simon and Klius who is supposed to pester him nonstop.

What on earth is happening?"

Is there any suspicious movement around the palace?"

Raphael shook his head and replied, "So far, when Emperor Maxmilian returns after the empress's execution, he only goes back and forth between his office and bedroom. He has not gone out to visit any towers or the basement within the palace."

Eugene hummed thoughtfully.

Is Maximilian really not involved in Lincoln's disappearance?

He couldn't bring himself to believe it, but he lacked the evidence to support his doubts.

"But during the Empress's execution, your grandfather, Viscount Bliastiva, was present at the Marquis manor," Raphael pointed out.

"Hm?" Eugene raised an eyebrow in curiosity.

"My grandfather was there, so why haven't I heard any news from my brother?"

Raphael replied, picking up a letter and handing it to his master. "Master Euric is busy investigating the disappearances of other nobles. Some military forces have been deployed, and the situation has spiraled out of control. Many nobles are blaming Emperor Maximilian, suspicious that their children have been silenced by the royal family without their knowledge."

"Emperor Maximilian is aware of the situation and has ordered the Marquis and the Duke to investigate."

When Eugene opened the letter, he discovered it was from his grandfather."My brother refuses to let me visit while our grandfather is present. However, I didn't expect my grandfather to be here not to exert his influence, but rather for me."

"It's probably a disguise," Raphael stated.

"Even so, wouldn't it be unfilial for me not to see him? After all, I've sent her beloved daughter into exile. He will probably scold me and use filial piety as a weapon, thinking I can restore his daughter's reputation as something other than a madwoman," Eugene sneered.

"Prepare the carriage. I'm heading back to the Marquis Manor."

Raphael frowned. "But master, the grand duke is already preparing for the wedding. If you leave the grand dukedom for a few days, it might make him angry, fearing that you might run away."

Eugene glanced at Raphael with a cold expression and replied, "He's not good at choosing dates; who can he blame but himself? Besides, he'll probably be busy playing his role just to appease the emperor."Raphael sighed. He had been staying in the grand dukedom for months and had witnessed how his master and the grand duke could almost kill each other during disagreements. He was confused about why they were still willing to marry one another. It was a strange dynamic for a couple, but in this world, nothing was surprising anymore. This world was full of lunatics, and his master was no exception.

Just a day after the empress's execution, several nobles vanished without a trace.

The upper class was in turmoil, while the lower class remained oblivious to what was coming.

Some people simply didn't care about the unfolding events, including the emperor. Though people saw him as a hardworking individual who only spent time in his office and bedroom, they didn't realize that he indulged in lust every time he had free time.

Kaizer couldn't help but chuckle at the emperor's debauchery.

Maxmilian kept denying his feelings, but it was clear to him that Maximilian had fallen in love with the son of his enemy. So instead of executing the man along with his mother, he chose to lock him up and indulge in the pleasures he had only imagined before.

"Your Excellency, the Emperor is currently taking a bath. He said he'll see you right away after he's finished."

The servants looked nervous, fidgeting and unsure of where to put their hands and feet. Kaizer, in a good mood, didn't mind their anxiety.

He dismissed the servant and waited in the Emperor's office, preoccupied with thoughts of his upcoming wedding. He had orchestrated the events so quickly, and he knew that Eugene had been suspicious about how things were spiraling out of control. No matter how much Eugene planned, things would continue to slip from his grasp because Artha was destined for destruction.

A god had already descended and was watching them; that was the only way to save Eugene from being caught.

Everything that is happening is not a beginning but an ending. He had fought many battles against other gods; engaging with them again is merely a recollection of memory.

He just needs to wait until the portal between time and space opens to send his beloved back to where they truly belong—a world where no one can hurt him.

"Grand Duke."

The door opened, revealing the emperor.

"I just bathed my cat; I hope you don't mind."

Kaizer waved his hand dismissively. "What's with you calling me at this hour? I already told you that I'm taking a leave to prepare for my wedding."

Maxmilian sat across from Kaizer and replied, "You're well aware of what's happening right now."

Of course, Kaizer knew.

"Euric and Casimin are already investigating the matter. There's no need for me to interfere."

"I'm not asking you to interfere. I'm just curious about what happened. Is the tower involved in this or not?"

"No, you don't need to worry."

Maxmilian had his doubts, but he chose to trust Kaizer.

In the end, after discussing the empires matter, the emperor dismissed Kaizer and allowed him a month of vacation, entrusting all responsibilities for the empire's safety to Euric and Casimin.
