Redemption Of The Yandere Villain

Chapter 109: Rebellion [1]

At midnight, the empire erupted into chaos.
Commoners screamed and fled their homes, searching for safety as an unknown army marched toward the fort.
"Rebellion!" The cry spread like wildfire, adults shouting in fear while children wailed, shattering the peace of the night.
In the imperial palace, the empress turned pale as her informant relayed the grim news: the emperor had been captured in his sleep, and Prince Maxmillian's forces had breached the fort, sealing off all exits to prevent any from escaping.
"Where is the Crown Prince?! Where's my son?!" the empress demanded, her voice quivering with panic.
Before the informant could respond, the empress's personal knight burst into the room, urgency in his every movement. "Empress, you must flee! Prince Lincoln is missing! He wasn't found in his chambers, and the army is advancing toward the palace!"
"My son... disappeared?!" The empress's voice faltered.
The informant frowned, trying to maintain composure. "Your Majesty, the prince has likely gone into hiding. We need to leave now and ensure your safety before Prince Maxmillian's forces reach the palace walls."
"Where are the imperial knights?" she asked, her desperation growing.
"They're preparing for battle as you commanded, but—"
Another scream echoed through the corridors, cutting off the knight's words. "Your Majesty, we must run! The Catharis family's army has breached the palace walls!"
"What?!"
At the mention of the Catharis army, the empress collapsed onto the floor, trembling uncontrollably. She had believed that Maxmillian's rebellion would be stifled, confident that she had blocked all his paths to power. She was certain that the three pillars of the empire would remain neutral, even if the second prince revolted. But she had miscalculated. The three families stayed silent, but the Catharis—those enigmatic, formidable warriors who once overthrew the mighty 34th emperor—had resurfaced, and with them, all her plans crumbled.
"Your Majesty, we must go!"
The empress's mind raced. She had anticipated rebellion, but not so soon. The secret army she had painstakingly built hadn't even been alerted. Now, with no time to lose, she could only rely on the palace knights to protect her as they fled.
No one was prepared for the rebellion; it struck like a bolt of lightning, catching everyone off guard—including the nobles who thought they were untouchable.
The high walls of the academy were quickly sealed, and the magicians in the tower began to gather, sensing the impending shift of power.
With most of the empire's strength now backing Prince Maxmillian, it was evident to all that by sunrise, a new emperor would claim the throne. The thought sent shivers through those loyal to Prince Lincoln, as they knew that this merciless prince would stop at nothing to secure his rule. Those in Lincoln's faction were certain to face execution, their fate sealed by the dawn of a new reign.
"Mom! Britanny!" Casimin called out urgently, his voice filled with worry as he searched for his mother and little sister.
"S-Son, I heard Prince Maxmillian has rebelled—" Krisha began, her voice trembling.
"Mom, don't worry about that right now," Casimin interrupted, his tone firm but gentle. "You need to find a safe place to hide. With the chaos, some assassins might take this opportunity to target nobles."
Krisha looked at her son, her eyes welling up with tears. Since her husband's exiled, she had been haunted by the fear that someone would come to harm them, especially her children. Her sons were strong, capable of defending the dukedom, but now, with the rebellion in full swing, she knew they would be drawn into the battle, supporting Prince Maxmillian to secure their family's status.
How could she stay calm with the thought of her son dying in battle?
"Brother, don't leave," Britanny cried, clutching at her brother's clothes, her small frame trembling with fear.
Casimin sighed, gently patting his little sister's head. "Be good, Britanny. Don't worry about me. This rebellion is going to be a victory for Prince Maxmillian. Just hide in the underground base for safety and wait for me to come back."
"Brother..." Britanny's voice wavered, her grip tightening.
"Listen to me, Britanny," Casimin continued, his voice softening. "No matter what you hear, you must not open the entrance to your hideout. Cadmus is trapped in the academy, so I can only protect you and Mom while I'm away. But don't worry, I'll leave some soldiers to guard the dukedom and block any intruders."
Britanny nodded, though tears still streamed down her face. Casimin gave her a reassuring smile before turning to his mother. "Mom, please take care of Britanny. I'll return as soon as I can."
The scene in the Del Viltaria Dukedom was no different from that of the Shradinza Household.
"Brother! Brother don't go!"
"Brother! Brother, don't go!" Eunice screamed, her voice filled with desperation as she banged on the heavy door of the underground room. But her brother had only instructed her to stay quiet and remain calm, waiting for his return.
Raphael watched the distraught young lady with sympathy. He had been locked in the underground room with her, a decision made at Simon's request, who had asked their master to ensure Raphael's presence for Eunice's safety. But why him?
He wondered why Simon, who cared for Vincent hadn't considered Vincent's safety first. Instead, Simon had requested the master to confine him with Lady Eunice.

Combing his hair in irritation he clicks his tongue.
"When Simon comes back, I'm going to hit him hard," he muttered under his breath, the thought of it bringing him some small measure of satisfaction amidst the chaos.
"Brother!"
"Lady Eunice, please calm down."
Eunice stopped banging on the door and turned to Raphael, sniffing and wiping her tears.
"Raphael, I heard there's a rebellion. Will my brother join the battle? W-What if..."
"It's an absolute victory, my lady."
Eunice looked up, surprised. "What do you mean?"
"The rebellion was initiated by Prince Maxmillian, the rightful crown prince of the empire, and he has the support of all the empire's major powers. No matter how you look at it, the odds are overwhelmingly in his favor."
"Then..."
"Yes, Master Euric will be fine."
Eunice sighed with relief. "But why am I being locked in here?"
"The empire is in chaos," Raphael explained. "This creates an opportunity for assassins who have been given kill orders. Some nobles have bounties on their heads without even knowing it, and that includes the four pillar families of the empire."
Eunice's face turned pale. Does that mean she also has a bounty on her head?
How terrifying!
"Brother Timber is still asleep?"
They both turned to see Timber still blissfully asleep, and they couldn't help but feel a pang of envy. In the end, they too lay down on the bed, exhausted from the earlier commotion, and soon fell into a deep sleep.
Both glanced back to see Timber still blissfully asleep, and they couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy. In the end, they too lay down on the bed, exhausted from the earlier commotion, and soon succumbing to fatigue and quickly drifting off to sleep as well.
The rebellion began at midnight.
Eugene, also caught off guard by the sudden uproar, was briefly roused from his sleep. However, he soon settled back into his slumber, smacking his lips and snorting with indifference.
After all, Maxmillian was bound to win. Why bother getting worked up about it?
He was still angry at Kaizer and had no desire to see that jerk's face, so he had refused to get up and fight.
Suddenly recalling the events of the rebellion, Eugene groaned and opened his eyes.
"Annoying!"
How could he forget that Milan was kept in the palace? It wouldn't do for him to be killed.
Eugene stood up and slowly changed into his knight uniform, then leisurely walked out of his room. He teleported to the castle, knowing that Kaizer was just outside the palace walls.
He went straight to where Milan was staying.
The surroundings were brightly lit, with the clash of swords, the strike of arrows, and the loud blows of magic filling the air. He whistled and walked into the palace, scanning his surroundings and trying to guess where Milan might be hiding.
No one was here.
Eugene paused and glanced outside.
He used magic to scan for any living beings in the palace and detected no presence of Milan. It seemed that Milan had taken advantage of the chaos and escaped.
"Oh, it doesn't matter. If he can survive on his own, then good for him."
Eugene turned around and entered the main part of the palace, taking in the gruesome scene of corpses bathing in blood.
Most of the dead bodies he saw were imperial knights. The empress should be hiding and fleeing for her life, but what use was that? She would soon be caught by Maxmillian, who would personally inform her that her son had been captured and soon would be tortured by him.
Then what would happen next?
Eugene laughed.
The empress's secret army would eventually arrive, but their power would be insufficient. With the Catharis family participating in the rebellion and supporting Prince Maxmillian.
The arrival of the Catharis was a dead end for the empress.
Everything is developing fast.
It's already out of his control.
If it comes to this... Eugene raised his head and laughed wickedly, "Wouldn't it be better to just destroy this world once again?"
"It will happen soon."
A chilling voice rang out, and Eugene's expression hardened. He turned to see Kaizer approaching, his bloodied sword in hand. Despite his black knight uniform remaining pristine, his hands were dripping with blood.
What a sight.
Eugene had to admit that Kaizer looked dangerously alluring in that moment.
He wanted to push him to serve himself with a twisted pleasure. Just thinking about it made him feel a surge of thirst as he licked his lips, his eyes revealing a hint of desire.
"Eugene, after this, we will get married."
Eugene walked towards Kaizer, resting his hand on his lover's chest. "Oh, already?"
Kaizer's expression darkened as Eugene's hand slid lower, landing on his stomach.
"The world is ending; how could I wait?"
Eugene hummed and whispered, "Baby, you're so fucking sexy with blood on you."
Eugene was angry, but his lust took precedence. Only Kaizer could satisfy him, and only in the presence of the man's ruthless violence did Eugene feel truly aroused.
"Eugene, do you prefer me pretending to be good, or do you like my bad side?"
Kaizer grabbed Eugene's hand and pulled him, shoving him against the nearest wall.
"You can get angry whenever you want and get horny whenever you feel it?"
Kaizer sneered, "Eugene do you see as as your s-x toy?"
Eugene rolls his eyes, "You act like you don't like it when you're acting like a dog in heat."
Kaizer released Eugene and turned away. "Return to the grand dukedom," he said. "We'll have a talk later. This battle will end before dusk, and the imperial family will be executed by morning. You should rest and avoid causing any more damage."
Eugene chuckled. "The imperial family? As far as I know, Maxmillian chose to imprison Lincoln rather than execute him, and the emperor is missing. It seems it will only be the empress and the nobles who supported her ambitions facing execution."
Kaizer didn't reply.
He was well aware of the situation; Maxmillian had been consulting him about the plans. Everything was unfolding according to Maxmillian's scheme. Kaizer's goal was only to unite forces to alert the heavens, to reveal themselves, and ultimately bring an end to Artha.
Eugene saw Kaizer's lack of reaction and felt a wave of boredom.
"Do what you want," he said, "I'll only return once I've confirmed my brothers' safety."
"They're safe," Kaizer replied, "They're just outside. The imperial knights are already wiped out."
"Oh. I see."
Kaizer continued deeper into the palace, while Eugene decided to step outside to find his brothers.
The bloodied scene outside made Eugene feel disgusted, so he opted to teleport.
Euric and Casimin were engaged in conversation, wiping their swords, when Eugene suddenly appeared before them, startling them both.
"Eugene!"
Euric and Casimin's faces lit up with relief as they saw Eugene. Noticing that his clothes were clean and free of bloodstains, they breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed their younger brother had only come to observe. That was a relief, as it was better to leave the grim task to Kaizer.
Kaizer: "..." (Your little brother is strong, what are you worried about?)
