Chapter 71: Accidental discovery and tracing
The fishing ratio between the two ended with John losing.
John asked Koloff how many fish he brought home, and Koloff released the rest except what he gave to John.
He just enjoys the process of fishing instead of actually catching the fish to eat like John.
After parting with Klov, John returned to the manor with a bucket full of fish and handed them over to Hart in the kitchen.
Shortly after Lambert came back from get off work, John saw him and called him to drink tea and smoke on the balcony of his room.
"How's it going?" John took out a pack of cigarettes and handed him one.
After burning, it ignites itself.
"It's alright, the main cases at the dock are almost done, and there are some leftovers that can be put away." Lambert nodded, indicating that things at the dock began to decrease during this time.
"How's your wife doing recently?" John nodded, then took a few breaths and asked about his wife.
"Yes, it's much better than when I was at the Shilan Trading Post. I'm very busy every day. I recently bought her a diamond ring, and she's so happy." Lambert said with a smile about his wife.
"Well, by the way, I have a spare pocket watch, do you have it? If you don't have one, take it." John has a lot of pocket watches. He gave Kane a Jacques and now Lambert. One.
"My wife also bought me a platinum watch, but I was reluctant to use it and kept it in my room. You are much better." Lambert also politely put the gold pocket watch in good condition into his pocket.
"By the way, listen to Kane, he wants to hand over the daily expenses of the manor to your wife, but you don't agree, why?" John talked about what Kane talked to him a few days ago.
"Yes, she is not suitable for this position." Lambert said directly without being hypocritical.
"Why, I think she's doing well." John asked inexplicably.
"Tell her to handle other things at the manor. As for the manor's expenses, forget it." Lambert shook his head with a firm expression.
"Well, if you think it's better." John looked at Lambert's firm refusal and said nothing.
"Where's Mr. Jacques? I didn't see him when I came back today." Lambert didn't see Jacques handling the horses at the back of the manor, so he asked.
"He went to the Hui clan."
"Oh, like this."
"You've been really busy during this time." John sighed with emotion.
"Fortunately, Kane will hand over simple cases to us, usually in two or three days, and he will take the difficult ones by himself."
"Thank you for your hard work." John felt very comfortable to be the shopkeeper, and knew that he was too lazy to die recently.
"Isn't this a job? It's normal, it's much more interesting than when I was an escort. I don't have the right to call the patrolling police over for questioning without waving my hand in the trading post." Lambert waved his hand, indicating that he was in the dark. The life of a detective in Water Town is a refreshing one.
The two were talking, and then they saw Kane taking Nick back to the manor.
"Kane is back. Who is next to him? I haven't seen it." Lambert looked at the two and said.
"New member." John briefly described the process of recruiting Nick.
"Well, it looks very handsome." Lambert said after taking two glances.
"It's alright." It was almost worse than me, John added in his heart.
"He will follow Kane later?" Lambert asked. Generally, when Kane investigates a case, he will be followed by a powerful protector, and Lambert is usually in this position. But because of a lot of cases, the two are often separated.
"I don't know, let's see what Kane has to say."
Kane entered the manor and saw the two smoking on the balcony, so Kane waved to John.
John also waved in response.
Then Kane took Nick directly to the balcony.
"Lambert, how are you today?" Kane asked casually, then picked up the cigarette John put on the table and lit it.
"Alright, how about you?" Lambert responded casually.
"Found something new, John, I found a person." Kane said to John after taking two sips.
"What big case?" John asked casually.
"Today I took Nick to investigate near the tall trees, and I found traces of a group of people," Kane said.
"Who?"
"Hadi Klein." Kane said.
"Who is he?" John asked in confusion.
"Do you remember the siege that the Chief made at Camp Riggs a month ago?" Kane said another thing.
"Of course, he is?" John showed a puzzled expression.
"Yes, he is one of the fugitives." Kane said excitedly.
"We may be able to find the figure of Gules Greer."
"Is that so? What case did you investigate today?" John asked.
"Ordinary case, a rich man in the dock area. He was robbed last night when he was drunk. The robber took him a contract, a very important contract. Then he went to us to report the crime." Kane said this thing.
"Then what?"
"After investigation, it was found that he went to meet his lover last night, and then was robbed by several robbers. And he did rob a lot of money and a contract."
"When I brought Nick to the two of them, they were drinking in a town near Blackwater Town. I helped the rich get back a contract, but the rest of the money was spent and the debt was repaid."
"During the inquiry, I told them that they would be imprisoned for a long time, so they told me that a group of robbers looting the caravan had recently appeared in the deep forest, and the leader was Hardy Klein."
"Are you sure?" John thought for a while.
"I'm sure, I've also found other evidence. Someone saw him at the Shilan Trading Station yesterday to trade with the Norren family and trade a large amount of cash." Kane nodded.
"What do we do?" Kane asked.
"How far have you investigated?" John asked.
"Roughly determine their location, it is certain that they are exchanging the intercepted goods for money recently, and they have a large amount of cash in their hands." Kane responded.
"What do you think?" John asked, looking like Kane and Lambert.
"I think I can try to catch them." Lambert said after thinking for a while.
"I don't think it's a problem, and they should still have a lot of cash on hand."
"It stands to reason that we should inform the director. But we should go check it out first and make sure. If there are not many people, we will eat them and make some extra money." John thought that it was important to report him.
But John is a little short of money recently, so it's the same when he catches it in the report, and he also makes a lot of extra money.
"When will we act?" Kane continued to ask.
"Let's go after eating. It's better to deal with them at night." John looked at the sky and it was four o'clock.
"Ok."
The dinner was a bit rushed, but the others didn't ask anything.
After eating, Nick chose a single room on the first floor.
After a few people finished eating and changed their clothes, they drove the carriage to the train station.
At half past five, a group of six boarded the train to Shilan Trading Station.
Looking at the five people under him, John felt that it was a pity to let Yakeda leave today, because Yakeda's ability in the jungle would provide them a lot of help.
But John didn't struggle too much, so the six of them boarded the train.
Not long after the six-person train left, on the next train coming from the east, a young woman in casual clothes got off the station and looked left and right. Then walk in the direction of the ticket office.
"This beautiful lady, what can I do for you?" The conductor asked very gentlemanly when he saw that she was a beautiful woman.
"Where do you need to go, I can tell you the time of the train at our station one by one."
"Excuse me, I want to find someone, where should I go?" the woman asked.
"Looking for someone? Then you can go to a nearby bar and ask the bartender. They can always know something that others don't." The conductor said warmly.
"Thank you. Sir." The woman nodded to thank him.
"You're welcome, it's my honor to be able to serve you, ma'am." The conductor bowed in a very gentlemanly manner.
Afterwards, the woman came to the bar near the station, and the life of the bar had just begun at six o'clock.
"This beautiful lady, what can I do for you, whisky, brandy, and red wine." The bartender also said to the woman in a gentle tone.
"I'm looking for someone," the woman said.
"Then who are you looking for?"
"I only know his name," the woman said.
"Hey, ma'am, you make this place bright, do you mind if I treat you to a drink?" A man who seemed to be wealthy saw the woman's eyes light up, UU read www.uukanshu.com and came over asked.
"No, thank you." The woman frowned and rejected the man.
"Who is he?" The bartender glanced at him without saying anything to stop him.
"John Wick, that's what he left behind." The woman said who he was looking for.
"Are you sure? What does he look like?" The bartender looked at the woman up and down, with a slightly respectful tone.
And the man who heard the name also looked at the woman's eyes, and then quietly left here.
"I don't know, but I know he has several men, one of whom is an Indian with a stout build," the woman said.
"There are quite a few people named John, and even now there are a few in this bar with that name." The bartender told how ordinary the name was.
"There are quite a few people surnamed Wick, but there are only a few people surnamed Wick and John."
"If you add that he has several subordinates and an Indian friend, I only know one in Blackwater Town," the bartender said.
"who is he?"
"You go to the dock area and ask. Anyone should know the name. He is the sheriff of the dock area." The bartender said.
"Sheriff? Thank you sir." The woman nodded.
The bartender waved his hand, indicating no need.
Leaving the bar, the woman asked the pedestrians to come to the police station in the dock area.
She pushed the door directly in.
"Ma'am, do you want to report the case?" Someone in the police station asked when they saw the woman.
"No, I'm looking for John Wick."
"Sheriff John? He's back, you can go to his manor to find him." Plumm said after sizing up the woman.
"Then where is his manor?"
"exist....."
