Reborn with Steve Stand

Chapter 90 - 89

Chapter 90: Chapter 89

Steve had three lucky blocks in his hand.

In addition to the Ring of Arcana, Fang Mo also obtained an Evertide Amulet and Rotten Flesh.

Praying to Buddha is an unbelievably amazing experience.

Even Fang Mo himself couldn't believe that he drew two items from the equivalent exchange module using three lucky blocks.

The Evertide Amulet wasn't as powerful as artifacts like the Watch of Flowing Time, Catalytic Lens, or Void Ring, but it was still obtained from the equivalent exchange module. While it may not be strong, it could create clouds and rain.

Fang Mo realized he needed to study the Thermal Expansion module in Minecraft carefully when he returned next time.

Even if he couldn't remember anything else, he had to figure out how to make the Bio-Ball. It would be useful for capturing villains and summoning them for sacrifice when he needed to draw a lottery.

Ideally, Fang Mo wanted to return to the Marvel world's Asgard and find a Feng Shui treasure for good luck. He hoped to obtain the Infinity Sword as well, but that was a discussion for another time.

Right now, Fang Mo was more interested in the Amulet and the ring he held.

Since he already wore the Void Ring on his right hand, Fang Mo decided to wear the Ring of Arcana on his left hand after thinking for a moment.

The Ring of Arcana looked similar to the Void Ring, with ancient and mysterious inscriptions engraved on its wide and thick body. However, the ring had a deeper color, and the gemstone on it constantly changed colors.

Fang Mo tested the abilities of the Ring of Arcana.

It worked just like in the game. He could manipulate the temperature, creating fire or ice and snow with ease. He could also control powerful tornadoes and storms.

Most importantly, Fang Mo could control all plants as he pleased.

With a simple thought, the ground in the yard shook, and a tall tree sprouted. The branches bloomed with beautiful flowers in a matter of seconds, filling the air with a pleasant fragrance even inside the house.

Impressed, Fang Mo lightly tapped the tree from a distance.

The Ring of Arcana emitted a vibrant green light, and the tree started to transform. Roots rose from the ground like legs, while branches formed jagged claw-like hands.

Finally, cracks appeared on the tree trunk, revealing a fierce face.

"Wow, Wood Release: Wood Human!"

Amused by the tree person nearby, Fang Mo couldn't help but laugh. "I just used bone meal and this guy instantly became Buddha. Now I'm truly invincible. Equivalent exchange is amazing!"

Fang Mo was happily studying his new tools when Charles and Erik started talking in another room.

"I think there might be something wrong with Fang Mo's mind," Erik said, recalling Fang Mo's strange behavior. "He's really strong in combat, but I can't figure out what he's thinking."

"That's possible," Charles agreed, looking concerned. "I can't seem to understand him either. It's a difficult situation. I've never faced anything like this before."

"Charles, maybe you shouldn't rely too much on your abilities," Raven, a shape-shifting woman, chimed in. "If you don't want to invade his thoughts, you shouldn't force it."

"I just want to help him," Charles explained earnestly. "You should understand. I mean him no harm."

"I know," Raven sighed. "But good intentions aren't enough reason to invade someone's thoughts, right?"

"Well, okay, you make a valid point," Charles admitted, raising his hands. "In the next few days, I'll try to learn more about psychology and see if I can make him feel more comfortable. But we can't solely focus on Fang Mo. Sebastian is definitely planning something."

"What's your plan then?" Erik asked, getting alert at the mention of their enemy. "Should the three of us try to find him?"

"No, Sebastian has powerful mutant partners," Charles explained, shaking his head. "The three of us alone wouldn't stand a chance against them. We need to find other mutant allies."

"Hmm..." Erik nodded, considering Charles' suggestion. "But where can we find them?"

"It's simple," Charles said, smiling slightly. "I'll introduce you to someone who can help us. When you meet him, you'll understand..."

Before Charles could finish his sentence, Fang Mo entered the room, humming a song.

"I heard you guys want to build a mutant team?" Fang Mo said casually, sitting down on the sofa. "I think it's a great idea. I lost contact with my comrade eighteen years ago. If you can help me find them, maybe he can join too."

"Your comrade?" Erik asked, intrigued. "If he can be your comrade, he must be very strong, right? Is he super strong?"

"Well, he's actually just a fighter," Fang Mo shrugged. "Either of you could easily defeat him."

"But he can still be your comrade?" Erik was puzzled.

"He's good at tanking," Fang Mo explained, raising his hands. "He is practically immortal, even though his damage output is low. When I fight, I don't need help with damage. I'm happy as long as they can take the hits for me."

"After hearing everything you said," Charles rubbed his forehead, "I still don't quite understand. I understand each word, but when they're put together, it's confusing."

Charles had an instinct to read Fang Mo's thoughts but quickly dismissed the idea.

"If you didn't have those strange thoughts, you wouldn't have ended up half paralyzed," Fang Mo mocked, pulling out a bloody stick from his pocket. "Has no one ever told you? Trying to understand others can make you confused or even crazy. It's important to give yourself space and focus on your own thoughts and feelings too."

"I'm sorry, I just wanted to help you," Charles sincerely apologized. "You might not understand, but when I read someone's memories, I can also feel their emotions. It's not about mocking them; it's about empathy."

"We're all mutants," Erik intervened, placing his hand on Fang Mo's shoulder. "We should have common enemies, not fight amongst ourselves."

"I don't see you guys as enemies either," Fang Mo shrugged. "If I did, you'd be in big trouble."

"So we're not enemies?" Raven asked, curious. "Are you willing to join our team?"

"For now, I'll join," Fang Mo considered. "Sebastian has a nuclear submarine, and there's another mutant with teleportation abilities on his side. If that guy tries to escape, it'll be difficult for me to catch him alone. It's better if I leave it to you."

"Welcome, my friend," Erik said with a friendly gesture, extending his hand.

When Fang Mo expressed interest in joining the team, Charles felt relieved. He knew Fang Mo's assistance would be valuable, especially considering his power equal to nuclear weapons. With Fang Mo on their side, they would feel safer.

Charles wasted no time and led everyone to the laboratory, where they met a scientist named Hank. Hank was a mutant too, with characteristics resembling those of a primate. He was tall and had agile feet like an ape. However, his mutation seemed to have enhanced his brain, as he had advanced technology at his disposal.

The equipment that Charles showed them was a brainwave amplifier invented by Hank. According to

Hank, Charles was currently the most powerful telepathic mutant. With the brainwave amplifier, Charles could extend his willpower to reach almost anywhere on Earth.

As Charles had mentioned earlier, he intended to find other mutants to join their cause, and this machine was the key. He could use his telepathic abilities to locate suitable mutants and establish contact with them in the past.

Their journey closely followed the original story. Charles and Erik traveled for several days and successfully recruited mutants like Darwin. On their last day, they visited a bar and coincidentally encountered Logan, also known as the Wolverine, who was enjoying his drink.

"Hello, I'm Erik."

"Hello, I'm Charles."

They greeted Logan politely as they approached him. However, Logan surprised them by responding with a curse.

"Go fuck yourself."

Logan didn't even bother to look at them and continued drinking his whiskey.

But suddenly, Logan heard a voice he recognized all too well.

"This whiskey tastes awful... Do humans actually drink this? Waiter, bring me something stronger."

Logan couldn't believe his ears. He turned around and saw Fang Mo holding a plate of fried peanuts. "Here, have some peanuts..."

"You dare to come back?!"

Before Fang Mo could finish his sentence, Logan jumped up and grabbed Fang Mo by the collar.

"Don't tell me you've been shitting for eighteen years!"
