Chapter 60: Chapter 59
"Didn't you come by taxi?" Nick Fury glanced at the hole in the ceiling, unable to resist asking.
Fang Mo spread his hands and retorted, "You said you only consider what I say, and now you believe me? So, when I earlier said that spending an extra ten minutes in the bathroom would cause the world to end, were you scared shitless?"
"Forget it, consider my question unanswered."
Nick Fury rubbed his forehead and turned to walk outside. Fang Mo followed suit, and soon the two arrived at a conference room-like space.
As Nick Fury had mentioned, the original Avengers had indeed gathered here, but they were still not very familiar with each other and had not been interacting. Each of them sat alone, lost in thought.
"Alright, our final member has also arrived." Nick Fury clapped his hands. "But we don't have time for introductions now. Let's discuss how to solve the current crisis. Any suggestions?"
"Perhaps we can try accessing surveillance footage from around the world?" Natasha, being a spy, still had that typical spy mindset. "If those aliens have a plan, they will undoubtedly leave some traces."
"No, that would take too long." Dr. Banner suddenly looked up. "If this thing can really emit gamma rays, maybe we can try using a spectrometer to search for its traces."
"Very well." Nick Fury nodded. "It seems we've come up with another solution. Doctor, how many spectrometers do you need?"
"As many as possible." Dr. Banner replied as he took off his jacket. "I have written a program that can capture gamma rays, but I need a place to work and... you need to inform the laboratories to place the instruments on the rooftop and calibrate them to the frequency of gamma rays."
"No problem." Nick Fury nodded and then directly instructed the nearby agent. "Take Dr. Banner to the laboratory."
"Wait, I think I need to confirm something with you first." Dr. Banner didn't leave immediately but stood in place and looked at Nick Fury. "My task is only to help you find that thing, right?"
"Of course." Nick Fury nodded. "When it comes to fighting, we have Iron Man, Thor, the Sorcerer, and Captain..."
"Alright." Dr. Banner breathed a sigh of relief, then walked towards the laboratory with the agent.
"So, all we can do now is sit here and wait?" Tony Stark couldn't help but speak up. "Is there no other option?"
"For now, it seems there aren't many other options on the scientific side." Nick Fury replied.
"The scientific side?" Tony Stark turned to look at Fang Mo. "So, we're relying on sorcery again?"
Fang Mo disappointed everyone by shaking his head. "Magic won't work this time. Although I can indeed foresee the future, Nick Fury spent an extra ten minutes in the bathroom this morning, causing disturbances in the timeline and making the future images hazy..."
"You're still doing that?" Nick Fury couldn't help but interrupt.
"Alright, let me think." Fang Mo touched his temple, looking thoughtful. "I remember aliens did appear, it was in Germany, but which city was it? It seemed to be called Auschwitz."
Captain America stood up abruptly upon hearing this, his face filled with shock and disbelief. "That damn concentration camp has turned into a city now!? Didn't the news say that Germany had surrendered?"
"Captain, don't listen to his nonsense." Nick Fury rubbed his temples with a headache. "Fang Mo is just that kind of person, saying whatever comes to mind..."
Captain America breathed a sigh of relief, but he couldn't help but advise Fang Mo, "Joking about the victims of the Holocaust is not a good habit..."
"If you experienced what I went through a while ago, you wouldn't say that," Fang Mo joked. "I was only minding my own business when suddenly someone shot me in the head."
Before Captain America could say anything, Tony Stark interjected, "I personally saw the bullet go through his head. Although he didn't die, I suspect his brain suffered irreversible damage because of it..."
Fang Mo glanced at Tony Stark and then turned his attention back to Captain America. "If you used your eloquence on Miss Potts, she probably wouldn't have left angrily, right?"
Stark was instantly speechless. Thor, who had witnessed the whole process, looked confused. Captain America was about to say something when a special agent suddenly walked in from outside.
"Sir, we've found the target." The agent held a high-tech screen. "The similarity with the target has reached 67%."
This sudden interruption drew everyone's attention. Even Fang Mo couldn't help but take a curious glance at the screen.
"The match is still increasing. The match has now reached 79%."
Nick Fury quickly asked, "What about the location?"
"Germany, Stuttgart," the agent said, "Hanover, No. 28."
Captain America looked at Fang Mo. Could this guy really possess divination abilities?
"You see, I said it was Germany, right?" Fang Mo shrugged. "By the way, where is this Stuttgart? Why don't we just rebuild another Auschwitz..."
"Enough, don't make jokes about that at times like this." Nick Fury interrupted directly. "I gathered superheroes, not supervillains..."
"I'm already quite positive! Working hard to bring laughter to everyone," Fang Mo retorted. "Perhaps you don't know how terrifying I am. If I were to turn to the dark side, even Joker would have to learn from me..."
"Prepare for takeoff." Nick Fury gave the command. "Head to the target location."
