Chapter145-The Being That Commands Koro’s Loyalty
Death Starfield
"You stubborn little brat, do you really refuse to come with me?"
A shadowy figure composed of dark energy hovered silently nearby, watching the man deeply immersed in meditation.
Koro slowly opened his eyes.
His gaze had grown deeper, as though capable of swallowing all light.
"Sir,"
Koro's voice was calm and firm.
"I have sworn an oath to the Creator, to serve only one person in this lifetime."
"Your kindness and your teachings, Koro is deeply grateful!"
Upon hearing this, the shadow couldn't help but furrow his brow.
He truly admired Koro, even considering him his only candidate for an heir.
But there was one thing that bothered him—this kid was incredibly stubborn!
He was utterly resistant!
"Do you know how many planes I rule over?"
"Just this small Death Starfield, to me, is no more significant than a speck of dust!"
The shadow stood with his hands clasped behind his back, trying to display his vast power.
"Even though you've received my teachings here, it will take you an immeasurable amount of time to climb higher."
His tone carried a hint of pride.
"If you come with me, I can immediately guide you across the boundaries of mortality and power!"
"Do you think the person you follow can do that?"
The shadow threw out what he believed to be his trump card.
However, Koro's expression remained unchanged, and he replied indifferently,
"Of course."
In his mind, there was no limit to what Leo could do.
Hearing this, the shadow was immediately left speechless.
Of course?
Of course, my foot!
He didn't believe it at all!
"Tell me! Where exactly is this person?"
The shadow was growing frustrated.
"I want to see for myself who this person is who has made you so determined to follow him!"
After a long pause,
The shadow made a rare decision—he would temporarily leave the Death Starfield.
He had already had the ability to return to his plane, but he had stayed because of the potential he saw in Koro.
He had hoped that one day, if something were to happen to him, Koro would inherit his legacy and look after his empire.
In his eyes, Koro had this potential.
Now, however, someone had already taken the step of making Koro unwaveringly loyal, which left him feeling irritated and defeated.
He didn't believe that there was anyone in this plane, other than him, who could offer Koro a better future.
Of course, with the exception of Lady Hathaway, whom he would never dare to provoke.
In the Starry Sky,
The shadow stormed toward the Alpha Starfield.
...
Alpha Starfield, New Dalton
The newly established New Dalton had become the undisputed center of the entire Alpha Starfield.
Beings from various races, merchants, adventurers, and pilgrims passed through constantly.
The majority of these beings were drawn here to witness the one who had saved the entire starfield from imminent disaster.
The president of New Dalton—Leo Grey!
Inside a rather upscale magic tavern,
"I say, Reize, the president has disappeared again, who knows where he's off to now?"
Walter reclined comfortably in a soft chair.
Reize, sipping a glass of rich elven fruit wine, spoke slowly,
"If you're so bored, I can head back."
At these words, Walter laughed.
"Go back? Go back to what, to accompany your little elven wife?"
Walter, as the leader of the Hat organization, was fully aware that Reize had become partners with the elven maiden, Amelia.
He made no comments on it, just as Reize had never mocked some of Walter's own lesser hobbies.
Upon hearing Walter's words, Reize's cheeks reddened slightly.
He drained the remaining wine in his glass and stood to leave.
"Hey, don't leave so soon,"
Walter quickly reached out to stop him. "We haven't discussed the important matter yet."
Reize, not in the mood, sat back down and shot Walter a look.
"Say it quickly. Don't waste my time."
Walter, seeing his chance, no longer played coy. Lowering his voice, he said,
"Reize, I have a personal matter to attend to back in the mainland, can you keep an eye on things here for me?"
Reize raised an eyebrow.
"What important matter could you have in the mainland? Isn't the order there already stable?"
"Cough, well, uh... just don't ask too many questions,"
Walter's eyes flickered slightly.
After a brief silence, Reize nodded slightly.
"Alright, but you have to help me with something in return..."
"What?"
Walter, seeing Reize's approval, eagerly asked.
"Send a few of your best Shadow Blades my way."
Shadow Blades were the elite forces in the Hat organization, specializing in assassination, infiltration, and protecting key figures.
Reize wanted them for a very specific purpose, of course.
Walter, understanding Reize's intent was to protect Amelia's safety, agreed readily.
"Deal!"
At that moment,
A figure walked into the tavern from outside, looking somewhat worried—it was Magnar!
"Mm? Lord Magnar, what brings such a troubled look to your face?"
Seeing Magnar's haggard expression, Walter asked in confusion.
Reize also turned to glance at him, wondering what had happened to make Magnar look like this.
Could it be something at the president's mansion?
They had recently received an order to transfer a significant number of personnel from the president's mansion, and they had already begun to suspect something was amiss.
Magnar sighed and slowly shook his head.
"It's nothing serious, just that Miss Lilith has been in a very low mood lately, and when I asked her about it, she refused to say anything."
Upon hearing this, Walter laughed dismissively.
"Ah, it's probably because the president left without taking her with him. Little ones throw tantrums."
But Reize furrowed his brow.
Apart from Leo and Magnar, he had been in Dalton Town the longest and had practically watched Lilith grow up.
He knew her personality well, and this ongoing mood drop was definitely not just because Leo left.
...
Meanwhile, outside New Dalton Town,
"My gods above! It can't be this coincidental, can it?!"
The shadow had arrived at the grand gates of Dalton Town.
Staring at the massive city before him, radiating order and vitality, sweat beaded on his forehead.
He never expected that the one Koro had sworn to follow—his master—was the very same person he had been tracking before!
The mysterious powerhouse who easily handled the master of Sanctum of Light from afar!
No wonder Koro was so determined to follow him.
The strength Leo had shown before had already made him recognize that Leo was no ordinary person.
And now, he was even more shocked.
The man who could make Hathaway fall for him was no weakling.
But what truly upended his understanding was the scene where Leo demonstrated his ascension in place, with his aura rising without end. He had never seen anything like this in all his countless years!
This man was unfathomable, an existence he could never afford to provoke!
Thinking this, the shadow almost turned to leave.
However, as he took a step, he hesitated.
Would leaving like this be too rude?
What if they pursued him?
While struggling internally, two familiar figures quietly appeared before him.
"Shadow? What are you doing here?"
