Chapter367-Fruit of Life
Luna was gentle. She gave Daniel a feeling unlike anything he had ever experienced before.Even though he was a newcomer to this place, under Luna's quiet care he felt the soft warmth of moonlight.
At that moment, Faer came over and patted Daniel on the shoulder.
"Since you're here, you might as well join us for a meal."
Over the following week,at Faer's request, Daniel chose to remain in the castle.Of course, this was only possible because the God of Life did not object—after all, the castle itself belonged to him.
Within this castle, each of the future gods had a room of their own.
During those days, Faer shut himself away in his chamber, constantly deducing and calculating. From time to time, he would come out to ask Daniel a question, then return to make corrections to his formulas.
That evening, as usual, Faer returned to his seat for dinner. He sensed that the mood of Aurelia, sitting nearby, was somewhat troubled, so he asked,
"Aurelia, are you facing some difficulty?"
Aurelia let out a faint sigh, her long golden hair glowing softly in the lamplight.
"Faer, can you tell me how to fuse gold, silver, and light together?"
At this, Faer fell silent in thought. After a pause, he replied,
"I think you could try following Okoma's Third Theorem. While the theorem has its flaws, I believe it could still provide some inspiration.Aside from that, you might consider my own theory. As long as elements can undergo transformation, even a slight one, that should be enough for you to resolve the problem. But… may I ask, why are you in such a hurry?"
Aurelia gave a faint smile.
"It's no secret. The truth is, I need to advance further. You probably don't know much about the situation of the Angel of Gold and Silver clan, and frankly I don't feel like explaining. But I must participate in the Emperor's Trial. You understand—I can't remain within the clan much longer."
Faer's face grew puzzled.
"So you don't plan to wait for me?"
Aurelia hesitated, then turned her eyes toward Faer.
"Since you asked, I suppose I will wait. Let's take part in the Emperor's Trial together.Come to think of it, it's about time I leave. My ascension ritual is nearly complete—it won't be long before I reach demigod rank."
With that, Aurelia rose, slipping the last piece of bread into her mouth.
Just then, Luna appeared at the table, still drowsy. She noticed Aurelia preparing to leave and asked softly,
"Aurelia, are you leaving already?"
"Yes. Until next time."
And with those words, Aurelia's figure turned into a stream of light and vanished.
Daniel remained calm throughout this small interlude, sitting at the long table and quietly enjoying his meal.
After living in the castle for a time, Daniel had pieced together much about the situation. All those who stayed here—the future gods—had come for different reasons, yet they had all somehow gathered in this place.
It seemed there was some special force drawing them together.
Daniel firmly believed this was a kind of destiny-bound attraction, similar to fate.Sometimes, what was meant to be yours would find its way to you—whether you understood it or not.
These future gods, too, must have been influenced by such a force, and thus converged here.
At first, Daniel suspected he himself might be the cause. But after a few tests, he dismissed the idea. His presence didn't seem to matter that much.
What stood out more was the Elder Tree of Life grown by the God of Life.
From that tree grew the Fruit of Life.
The fruit's effects were simple and unpretentious—it enhanced divine power.
Yet, the Fruit of Life came with severe restrictions. In fact, most of the future gods here were not suitable candidates to benefit from it.
But the complication came from Faer, the God of Elements.
Relying on his own theories, Faer had developed a ritual.Through this intricate ceremony, the restrictions of the Fruit of Life could be completely erased.
That meant everyone in the castle could gain the immense power of the Fruit of Life—without any conditions.
Of course, the Fruit of Life was exceedingly rare and precious.Even for the God of Life, cultivating one was a near-impossible task.
This was one of the main reasons the future gods had gathered here.Though each had come for different purposes, and none for the fruit itself, fate had drawn them together nonetheless.
This, Daniel realized, was the most terrifying aspect of destiny.
The God of Life's willingness to provide a Fruit of Life stemmed from a simple reason—He wasn't sure if Faer's ritual would actually work. And even if it did, would there be unforeseen side effects?
So, with an experimental mindset, he gave Faer a single Fruit of Life.
Among all these future gods, what surprised Daniel most was the Moon Goddess, Luna.
The others each hailed from different races, but Luna herself was a true member of the God Race.Though only at demigod rank now, her very existence already marked her as extraordinary.
Using the Eye of Insight, Daniel discovered Luna's unique power.
Unlike traditional ascension, Luna didn't need to seize a divine seat. The God Race was born with one, and as they aged, their power would naturally grow without limit—until they inevitably reached demigod rank.
In other words, every single member of the God Race was destined to become formidable. So long as they survived to adulthood, they would all ascend.
And yet… Luna herself did not know where her people were.It seemed as though her clan had abandoned her.
Beyond these figures, Daniel also became acquainted with a Goddess of Time.
At present, she appeared as a gothic-styled little girl. Her name was Kartora, and she was full of personality.
But strangely…
Even though she commanded the domain of time itself, Daniel had never once seen her name recorded in any historical text.
Why was that?
