Chapter277-Gate of Revelation
After a brief moment of thought,
Daniel had already made up his mind and opened his mouth to speak.
"According to our original plan, all preparations are complete."
"However, before we head out in search of the Emperor of Angels, there are a few things I'd like to ask you."
The reason Daniel chose this particular moment to raise his questions
was primarily due to the hasty nature of his actions four thousand years ago.
Back then, Kate and the others had been deeply occupied with the Ascension Ritual for the Luck Goddess,
leaving them little time to properly communicate with Daniel.
Now that he had encountered Milla again,
Daniel believed this was the perfect opportunity to extract some valuable intelligence from her.
But before Daniel could even begin to ask,
Milla burst into laughter and nodded enthusiastically.
"Lord Daniel, let me guess—you're wondering about the Origin Grounds, aren't you?"
"Ask anything you like. If I know the answer, I'll tell you."
"But before we begin, I must clarify something: what I know… isn't as much as you might think."
On the Continent of Myriad Races,
the sky had already been entirely sealed off by the Divine Realm.
At present, no living being across the world could even see the stellar bodies in the heavens.
While Daniel was conversing with Milla,
one of his clones was busy gathering all the Hearts of Angels he had collected and placing them in his backpack.
Although the angels seemed to sense something was amiss—and even the Archangels began distancing themselves from Daniel—
the sheer number of angels made it impossible to completely avoid him.
As a result, Daniel still managed to collect a sufficient amount of Hearts of Angels.
Without any hesitation,
Daniel assembled all the necessary materials and opened his God Rank Skill Compendium.
"[Divine Incubation], synthesize!"
[Divine Incubation]
Effect 1: Instantly hatches any biological embryo, regardless of gestation time. Upon hatching, the creature is promoted by one tier.
Effect 2: Life Evolution. Allows all life forms under the skillholder's command to undergo perfect advancement, increasing their tier by one. (This is an active skill and applies to all allied units.)
After reading the description of this God Rank Skill,
Daniel's face lit up with satisfaction.
This was exactly the kind of straightforward, brute-force upgrade he loved.
A simple description—"increase by one tier"—but the impact was astronomical.
The most critical part was that this upgrade had no upper limit.
In other words,
even beings that had already reached Diamond Rank or beyond could still evolve to the next stage!
Take New Life, for example—
it was currently Diamond Rank,
and even angels below level 400 stood no chance against it.
But what if New Life evolved further,
reaching the legendary Master Tier?
Would that mean even someone like Vinicius, one of the top-ranking angels, might not be able to defeat it?
Without delay,
Daniel activated [Divine Incubation], applying it to all of his summoned Abyssal Summoning Creatures, increasing their tier by one!
With this new power boost,
those Abyssal creatures could now go toe-to-toe with even the Archangel-level enemies.
Suddenly, the tide of the battlefield began to shift again.
A massive wave of Abyssal Energy began to engulf parts of the Divine Realm.
From the surface of the continent, if one were to look up into the sky,
they would be shocked to discover that the once golden and sacred exterior of the Divine Realm
was now being stained by growing patches of black spots.
An overwhelming and terrifying aura began to erupt from within the Divine Realm itself.
Meanwhile, Daniel repeated an old trick—he used a Sacrificial Ritual.
Immediately afterward, countless Abyssal Summoning Creatures were engulfed by a blanket of darkness.
Once the ritual was complete,
a massive stellar construct formed on the battlefield—made entirely from corpses.
[Abyssal Summoning Creature — Corpse Star]
Level: 300
Tier: Diamond Rank (Chaotic)
Traits: Immune to all attacks below Demigod Rank, including true damage.
Skills: Abyssal Devour, Corpse Swarm, Abyssal Terror, Stellar Plunder, Stellar Guardian…
Though the Corpse Star was still technically Diamond Rank,
Daniel noticed something different—it now had the label "Chaotic" appended to its tier.
Moreover, its stats were far beyond those of ordinary Diamond Rank creatures.
Most importantly, since it had devoured over a thousand Abyssal Summoning Creatures,
its stats were essentially the sum total of all of them—doubled!
This meant that although its tier was listed as Diamond,
its real combat strength was at least a hundred times greater than an ordinary Diamond Rank being.
Looking at the colossal Corpse Star in front of him,
Daniel's lips twitched uncontrollably.
Aside from being a bit slow,
this thing practically had no weaknesses.
Even if Daniel himself were to go all out,
defeating such a monstrosity would still be an incredibly difficult task.
As for the Angels of Gold and Silver,
unless their top-tier forces intervened,
this would undoubtedly become the worst catastrophe the Divine Realm had ever faced!
Few knew this,
but at the very core of the Divine Realm lay a Divine Temple belonging to the Goddess of Gold & Silver, Aurelia.
The existence of the Divine Temple was public knowledge.
But hidden deep beneath the temple, in the underground sanctum,
was something known only to the highest echelons:
the Gate of Revelation.
At this very moment, in front of the Gate of Revelation,
stood the Emperor of Angels at the forefront, flanked by seven Archangels,
all standing reverently in place.
The figure of Vinicius was also among them.
As the most powerful beings of the Angelic race,
they were now channeling all their power into the ritual circle beneath their feet.
Golden lights began to flicker and dance,
and the Gate of Revelation itself began to glow with divine brilliance.
On the other side, the Emperor of Angels murmured a solemn prayer:
"Oh mighty Lady Aurelia, we have tolerated Daniel's insolence for far too long."
"That cursed human truly believes he can act without consequence?"
"We are now fully prepared. This long patience—it will be worth it!"
Even though those words were uttered with conviction,
the truth was, a bitter pain gnawed at the Emperor of Angels' heart.
After all, the level 400 Archangels represented the irreplaceable core strength of the Angelic race.
Many among them were future candidates to become full-fledged Archangels themselves.
But due to Daniel's interference,
the Angelic ranks had suffered devastating and unprecedented losses.
And ever since the Abyssal Summoning Creatures had emerged,
the Emperor of Angels understood all too well:
no matter how hard the angels fought, the final outcome would remain unchanged.
Why?
Because the Abyssal creatures possessed a resurrection mechanic.
This meant the war had devolved into an endless war of attrition.
The only issue was that when an Archangel-level angel died,
they required a substantial amount of time to return.
So continuing to send high-ranking angels into the fray
was no different from deliberately weakening their own long-term strength.
