Chapter 358: 358 leave
Ma Changshun is not an idiot; he knows that the reason his daughter is with Xiang Zhiqiang is definitely related to this Zheng Lanying.
No matter what, she's still his daughter. This matter is firmly etched in his mind.
He absolutely won't let it go like this. While under his watch, he will let Zheng Lanying wait and see.
When Tan Shaoting arrived home, he saw that his wife had already loaded all the items for the journey onto the truck.
"I can handle it. You don't need to do it."
"I have nothing to do, and the kids are asleep."
"These are the cotton-padded clothes made by Zhao Qingxiang's family."
Tan Shaoting knew that his wife had prepared many clothes for the kids.
Almost all the things they were taking on this journey were for the children.
"Let's eat so you can rest."
Tan Shaoting had used several hours on his journey back, and their train tickets were for the next afternoon, so they planned to leave around midnight.
Not many people at the site knew they were leaving. Actually, it was understandable, as they were all too far away, and they didn't know many people either.
By ten in the morning, they arrived at the armed forces department. Tan Shaoting got out of the car by himself.
The leadership here knew they had an afternoon train at one, so they asked them to stay there for lunch.
This place was very considerate, assigning a driver to take them to the train station and even wait to help with getting their luggage on the train.
The three children were very well-behaved, with Su Yuanyuan watching them in the carriage while Tan Shaoting and his wife loaded the luggage.
He had directly bought four sleeper tickets. Though it was only a three-day trip, it was more convenient this way.
The three children didn't show any signs of discomfort and seemed quite curious.
Tan Shaoting stored most of the luggage, with only a bit left out.
So when getting off the train, he was holding one child in his arms while carrying all the luggage with the other hand.
This time they were quite lucky, as the long-distance train would arrive the next afternoon.
Tan Shaoting still bought four sleeper tickets. The two of them took the children to a hotel. If it were just the two of them, they might not have stayed, but now with kids, it was necessary.
The hotel wasn't warm, but they had to make do; the children wore many layers, making it hard to turn over on the kang, but they couldn't suppress their urge to move.
Though it was difficult, they didn't cry.
This was what most relieved Su Yuanyuan, as she couldn't stand the sound of children crying, luckily her own kids didn't cry.
Tan Shaoting went out for a bit and came back informing Su Yuanyuan that he was going to make a fire.
They had lunch in the room, which consisted just of mantou.
This was the most convenient. Tan Shaoting even brought soup for Su Yuanyuan. He felt sorry for his wife having such dry food, whereas he could eat anything. "You should drink more."
Su Yuanyuan didn't need any persuasion from Tan Shaoting. Feeding three children by herself, even though they were only over three months old, was already a bit challenging. She always felt the last child might not get enough.
So even if she didn't like it, she would still drink it.
The five of them slept quite well that night. The temperature in the room rose, and the kang was nice and warm.
They arrived at the train station just in time, only waiting for half an hour before boarding.
Both finally breathed a sigh of relief, as this was a direct train.
The carriage was theirs alone, which made things much more convenient.
Zhao Yanli came to Su Yuanyuan's house gate the next morning, seeing the lock on the door from outside. They had truly left.
She took out a key and opened the door to go in. The inside was exceptionally clean and neat, so she didn't need to do much except move her own things in.
Although the stove had gone out, the room temperature was still quite warm.
She sat on the kang, dazed for a while before getting up to start a fire.
Then she went to feed the little donkey. This little donkey was much better than her own and didn't need to be led. It could be managed entirely by herself.
She patted the little donkey's head. "Don't worry; I will take good care of you from now on." She knew that Yuanyuan was very generous with feeding her livestock.
Now she understood it herself. Raising livestock well was her biggest help, and all the chores depended on it.
She spent the day moving all her things over and lit a fire there. This way, when Second Sister's family moved over tomorrow, the house wouldn't be cold.
Then she walked to Zhao Xiaojing's house.
"Xiao Li, stay for dinner; we're having sauerkraut noodles tonight."
"No, it's alright, Second Sister. I moved in today, so you can come over whenever you'd like."
"You've already moved in?"
Zhao Yanli nodded. She really didn't want to think badly of her Second Sister, but they knew Yuanyuan would leave at night yesterday, so could they not consider that she would move today?
"Alright, we'll move over tomorrow then."
"Hmm, I just made a fire in the house, so it won't be cold when you move tomorrow."
"Xiao Li, you really should stay for dinner."
Zhao Yanli didn't particularly like Xu Hongbing, but as relatives, they just interacted on a normal level. They both were too selfish, only thinking about their own family; though there wasn't anything wrong with that, emotionally, it was hard to accept.
"No, I need to go back, and I'll come help you tomorrow."
"No need. I'll send Hai Jun over to your place, besides, there isn't much to move."
Zhao Yanli said nothing more and walked back home, thinking about how Yuanyuan and her family should be boarding the train by now.
She returned home and prepared to cook.
Yuanyuan's house was spotlessly clean and had left her some grain and oil. They were truly good sisters, and Zhao Yanli thought that if Yuanyuan ever needed anything in the future, she would definitely put all her efforts into helping.
After her sister left, Zhao Xiaojing began cooking.
Xu Hongbing lay on the kang playing with their son. He was a man with foresight; otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to escape that situation.
Now he had settled down here, lucky to have chosen a wife who listened to him and prioritized everything around him. Now with a son, he felt settled.
In fact, he really had an eye for the land by the reservoir. His little sister-in-law's family raised ducks there every year. Although he couldn't get the plot from Su Yuanyuan, it wasn't far from the reservoir. This way, even with less land to work on, the money wouldn't be less.
"Hongbing, let's start sorting our things this afternoon. Can you first move the grain over?"
"Alright, we'll take it slow. Once we've sorted through everything, we can just hand it over."
"Actually, I was thinking of asking for another fifty acres of land this year."
"No need, a hundred acres is enough. This year, we'll raise more ducks—you just stay home to watch the kids and feed the chickens and ducks."
Actually, there are more than twenty acres beside them, but no one wants to reclaim it. If time allows, reclaiming it is an option. This way, there would be no tasks in the first year, even rewards, and only half the tasks in the second year, which is quite good too.
