Chapter 92: Wizard Qualification!

"I have some experiments I'm working on, and I need these materials to test a few things," Harry explained, offering a smile.

He continued, "But these things are hard to come by on my own, so I thought of you, sir."

"For experiments?" Sean raised an eyebrow, intrigued but not surprised. Harry had already made a strong impression on him, and his previous work with the corpse beasts made it clear that Harry was someone who always had unusual projects on the go.

"These materials are not common. I do have some left over from earlier experiments," Sean said. "If you need them, I can give you what I have."

Harry's face lit up with gratitude. "Thank you so much."

To Harry, even the leftover, imperfect materials were a rare treasure. Supernatural materials related to wizards were hard to find, and even defective ones were difficult to acquire without the right connections. As long as the materials could serve his purpose, he was more than happy to accept them.

Sean nodded thoughtfully. "Since you're here, why not also test something else?"

Harry raised an eyebrow. "Test something?"

"Your wizard qualifications," Sean said, then walked over to the stone platform, pulling out a small vial of powder. With practiced precision, he began carving runes into the surface.

Harry watched closely. The runes Sean was drawing were similar to those Harry had seen in the Ritual of Life, but these were simpler, more direct; lacking the deep, mysterious energy Harry was familiar with. The runes used in the Ritual of Life had a unique power, something that only certain individuals could grasp. In Harry's experience, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't teach those runes to others. They were more than just symbols, they were bound by an inherent authority.

Sean finished engraving the runes, then turned to Harry. "Drop some of your blood on it."

Without hesitation, Harry stepped forward and dripped a drop of blood onto the rune.

The moment the blood touched the surface, the runes flared to life, glowing brightly in a dazzling display of light. The glow was so intense it seemed to pulse with energy, captivating enough to make anyone pause in awe.

Sean's smile widened as the rune shimmered. "Good. The rune lit up, which means you have the qualifications to become a wizard."

Harry grinned, feeling a mix of pride and relief. "That's good news," he said, his voice light but sincere.

"Is it?" Sean asked with a knowing smile.

Harry couldn't help but chuckle. "I had a feeling it would go this way."

After all, with his enhanced body and the changes he had already undergone, he knew he had the right potential. But hearing it confirmed in such a clear way still filled him with excitement. The path to becoming a wizard was now within reach.

In the previous simulation, after being strengthened by the dark god's power, Harry's life essence had been forcibly elevated to an extraordinary level. Even a fraction of that transformed energy was enough to push his body to a new level of strength. His current knightly talent was proof of this drastic improvement.

Compared to before, his abilities as a knight were now far above the average, placing him on the same level as true geniuses like David. The same logic applied to wizardry qualifications.

Harry believed that even if he hadn't originally possessed the natural aptitude for wizardry, the transformative experience of the Origin Baptism would have provided him with what he needed. In a way, the results were expected; no real surprise there.

"Unfortunately, the conditions here are too simple to gauge your full qualifications," Sean said with a hint of regret. "But based on how the rune reacted, I'd say your aptitude is promising."

"Are there different levels of qualifications for wizards?" Harry asked, intrigued.

"Of course," Sean replied. "It's much like with knights; people's talents can vary from good to bad."

Sean went on to explain in detail. Wizards typically divided magical qualifications into five levels based on affinity with the elements: Level 5 was the best, and Level 1 was the worst. From what he observed, Sean guessed that Harry's qualification was likely at least Level 2, and possibly around Level 3.

"Is Level 3 considered good?" Harry asked, curious.

"It's quite good," Sean nodded. "There are five levels, but a Level 5 qualification is so rare that almost no one has ever seen it. A Level 4 qualification means you're almost guaranteed to become a full-fledged wizard. Level 3 is already a strong qualification."

He looked at Harry and added, "If you came to Ryan, you'd be highly sought after. Our academy would love to have you as a student, but that's up to you."

"Really?" Harry smiled, his curiosity piqued. "That sounds promising."

He didn't try to hide his excitement about the possibility of becoming a wizard. After all, his journey as a knight seemed to be reaching its end.

In the Dawn World, the title of Great Knight marked the peak of a knight's career. There was no higher level to aspire to. Wizardry, on the other hand offered new horizons, new challenges, and perhaps a future that could stretch beyond the limits of his current path.

In both the Dawn World and the previous fighter world, there are similar patterns when it comes to the limits of power.

In the fighter world, the fighter system is well-developed, but once someone reaches the level of a gym owner, it seems like there's nowhere else to go. The ceiling for fighters feels confined.

But wizards, on the other hand, have far greater potential. A third-class apprentice wizard is already on par with a knight, and a full-fledged wizard surpasses even the mightiest Grand Knight. That's not to mention the higher ranks beyond that.

The potential of wizardry far exceeds that of knighthood.

Of course, the upper limit for knights may not be set in stone. It's possible that other regions in this world have paths above the Great Knight level. However, those paths would likely be found in the most prosperous, powerful areas; places like Ryan, where Sean is from. There, resources are abundant, and powerful wizards are common.

If given the chance, Harry wouldn't hesitate to visit and explore. After all, his goal isn't just to settle down as a small lord in this world. Traveling through time gave him a fresh chance, and he intended to make the most of it.

As Sean continued his preparations, having already pinpointed the general locations of the Soul Beasts, he began setting traps. His plan was to create a massive energy source that would attract the Soul Beasts, creatures that thrived on high vitality.

Harry watched Sean work but had no intention of interrupting. He realized it was better to leave Sean to his task. There was little for him to do here, and it made more sense to focus on his own growth.

He'd just received new materials from Sean, leftovers from past experiments. They weren't of much use to Sean anymore, but to Harry, they were invaluable. He couldn't wait to put them to use in his own ritual sacrifice.

Meanwhile, his subordinate, Senbu, was out in the wild, capturing powerful beasts full of vitality to be used in Harry's experiments. They were waiting for the right materials to come through, and now that they had them, Harry was eager to get started.

Days passed in the blink of an eye, and before long, five days had gone by.

Then, one day, Sean summoned Harry and the others.

"Is this the place?" Harry asked as he followed Sean into a cave.

Henry glanced around and frowned. "This place looks pretty ordinary."

Sean smiled, his tone mysterious. "That's just the surface."

Sean spoke with his usual calmness. "The aura of that creature is all around this place, but you mortals wouldn't be able to sense it."

Henry, about to respond, bit his tongue. He remembered the warning from Earl Thorn before they left. The Earl had pulled each of them aside and made some sort of agreement, something that had clearly kept the knights in line, preventing any trouble during this mission.

One of the larger, more imposing lords, with the air of someone used to giving orders, spoke up. "Let's make one thing clear: we're here to assist you under the orders of Earl Thorn. We are 'not' your subordinates. When you give orders, show us the respect we deserve."

Sean glanced at him, unbothered, and turned his attention back to the task at hand.

Harry watched the interaction with a faint smile. This team was full of tension. It was clear that Sean treated everyone like they were beneath him, except for Harry. With his wizard qualifications, Sean considered him more of an equal than the others; who, despite being knights, were still just mortals in Sean's eyes.

The knights, on the other hand, were growing increasingly frustrated with Sean's condescending attitude. It seemed like a volatile mix, one that could easily boil over if things went wrong.

Luckily, their mission was straightforward; hunt monsters and with Earl Thorn's influence behind the scenes, it was unlikely anything major would erupt. At least, that's what Harry hoped.
