Chapter 68 – Too Successful
*Ding*
{Quest Completed}
[Quest: Kill Ferocious Beasts or Demonic Beasts – Status: Complete – Reward: 100 Experience, 1 Store Credit]
Once the guardian was killed Damion pulled up the Magic System to check his progress. There was only one notification waiting for him. Most of the Demonic Beasts in the dungeon had been F Rank so he only managed to complete the generic kill quest and that left him 200 experience short of leveling up the Magic System.
"So where is the dungeon core, lets break it and go get something to eat," Ethan said as he looked around the room.
"Look up," Theodore blandly.
Both Damion and Ethan looked up at the ceiling where the Blaze Wasp nest had been and saw a small orb that they took to be the dungeon core.
"Christine, if you would," Arica said, prompting Christine to loose an arrow at the orb in the ceiling.
As soon Christine's arrow pierced the dungeon core their party was warped out of the Breach as it reset for the next challengers. Damion and the others found themselves standing outside the Breach portal with the dungeon attendant coming over to them.
"Great, it does not appear any of you are injured," the attendant said. Though he had to take a close look at Ethan, who still had a bit of Stone Bear blood on him and Damion since his pants were torn at one knee. "Follow me to the sorting area to deposit your… wait, none of you have any bags, where are all the materials you harvested?"
"Relax, we have a spatial mage," Theodore said waving the attendant on.
"A spatial mage? Oh, of course," it took the attendant a moment to fully grasp what Theodore said, but he had quite the happy look on his face once he did.
"Alright, please unload all the materials you acquired on the sorting platform," the attendant said indicating a slightly raised deck that while simple looked similar to the room they had placed all the items from the graveyard in.
Arica did as instructed and started dumping out the corpses of the Demonic Beasts. She grouped them by type and Rank, first brining out all the F Rank Wind Wolf corpses, making one big pile. In a separate pile she placed the E Rank Wind Wolves and made another pile for the E Rank Stone Bears. Finally, the Pimeys Elk and the Blaze Wasp nest were deposited alone.
"14 F Rank Wind Wolves, 4 E Rank. 3 E Rank Stone Bears. One Pimeys Elk, E Rank and one Blaze Wasp nest, also E Rank." The attendant listed off the corpses as they appeared on his tablet. "A couple of new beasts. Looks like this dungeon has more of a variety than we thought."
"Well, we aren't done yet," Arica smirked and then brought out more of their spoils.
"A Spider Lily, wow. You found that in this E Rank dungeon?" Before the attendant could ask more questions, Arica brought out more of the plants they found. "Frost Orchid, Sleet Grass, Azure Primrose, Monkshood. Dear me, these are almost everything you need for… Beese Mushroom!"

The moment the attendant saw the Beese Mushroom appear on his tablet he could not help but let out a shout. The attendant's outburst of course brought the attention of most of the people in the area. Once the onlookers saw the large pile of Wind Wolves, they all forgot about the attendant shouting and began wondering what team had brough back entire corpses of Demonic Beasts.
Now that all the attention was on their group and the sorting platform, Arica brought out the Aurichalcum ore chunk. When the onlookers saw the green hew of the large rock that appeared on the platform a good number of them recognized what it meant and fervently started discussing the find amongst each other.
"Aurichalcum, purity 65 percent, 750 kilograms in weight," the attendant was trembling as he read what appeared on his tablet.
Never before had he seen such a profitable dungeon clear, let alone an E Rank dungeon, he had never seen such a profitable run from C or even B Rank dungeons.
"I think I'll need to call the overseer," the attendant said as he pulled out his communication tablet and spoke into it for a moment before putting it back into his pocket.
A few seconds after the attendant hung up, the overseer could be seen rushing over to the sorting platform.
"I'll handle things from here," the overseer said taking the tablet from the attendant.
The overseer looked over the tablet's inventory of Damion's party's haul and then gave them an appraising look.
"Anything else?" the overseer asked looking at Arica.
"No that is everything we found," Arica answered.
Once Arica confirmed they had deposited all their finds, he walked onto the sorting platform and started pulling all their team's materials into a spatial artifact. Damion looked, but he did not see any spatial artifact on the man, but then Damion realized that it would have to be a high-quality artifact to hold everything they had found, that or the overseer was a spatial mage like Arica.
"Alright, you all come with me," the overseer said as he led them all back to his tent office.
Once they arrived in the overseer's office, he quickly activated an artifact on his desk which caused a shimmering dome to appear around the tent.
"We are now isolated," the overseer said. "I would like to hear your report directly. I will record it, so none of you will need to submit another report later. But first I think introductions are in order. If you would Arica."
"This is my Master, Dorian Fletcher. As you might have guessed, he is a spatial mage."
Damion and Ethan were somewhat shocked by the revelation, but Christine and Theodore appeared to already know. Damion supposed that they were all from the same White Zone, so it made sense if they were already familiar with one another.
"Now, your reports," Fletcher said to them.
Damion started and narrated the events of their dungeon run, noting the attention Theodore had paid to find the rare plants, as well as his own finding of the Aurichalcum. When Damion finished, Fletcher looked to the each of the others to see if there was anything to add, but Damion had covered their entire run thoroughly.
"I must say, you all have given an impressive haul. However, it gives me quite the headache to solve," Fletcher said as he looked to each of them.
"What do you mean?" Damion asked. They had presented a record-breaking haul to the Adventurer Association for this dungeon run, Damion did not understand how that created a headache for Fletcher.
"Because we found far more than anyone else," Arica spoke up. "He now has to figure out if we were just very lucky, or if all the other teams were holding back."
"Holding back?" Damion said confused.
"She means, master Fletcher has to determine if the other teams did not report all their finds."
"I thought there was some security artifact, marking you when you enter and until you leave the sorting area to keep people from smuggling their finds out." Ethan said, confused as to how other teams would have even been able to not report all their findings.
