Reborn to Outshine My Ex and His White Moonlight

Chapter 692: No Regrets Left Behind

After hanging up the phone, Chu Wu clung to him again.

"Was that your mom? We've been together for so long, shouldn't we meet the parents?"

Mo Xuyao snapped back to reality: "Let's wait a bit more. I'm working on a major project with my dad, and I've been really busy lately."

"It's no big deal, just find some time for a meal, I..."

"I have something to do, I'm heading back. You can eat by yourself."

As soon as Mo Xuyao heard Chu Wu talking about marriage, he quickly found an excuse to leave.

Chu Wu bit her lip, finding no taste in her food.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Chu Yin speaking a few words with the manager before leaving, so she followed.

...

Realizing that Chu Wu was tailing her, Chu Yin didn't go straight upstairs.

If her family found out she was enjoying good food and drinks outside, they'd surely reprimand her.

She was currently focused on her career, having no time to deal with these people.

When Chu Wu caught up, Chu Yin immediately stepped out.

"Why are you following me? Why don't you go find your brother?"

"Sis, what old man did you find this time? Don't you know it's really embarrassing for the family?"

"Oh, you know what's embarrassing? I'm embarrassed to even call you my sister. Can't you exercise your brain for once? Is it only filled with thoughts of your brother?"

Chu Yin retorted unreservedly.

When it came to arguments, Chu Wu had never won against Chu Yin.

But since everyone around Chu Yin protected Chu Wu, even when she won the argument, everything still ended up being Chu Yin's fault.

Chu Wu's expression twisted: "You, you..."

"What's your problem? Should I call security?"

"Just you wait, I'll get mom and dad to deal with you." Chu Wu huffed coldly.

"I'll be waiting. You always run to mom and dad when there's trouble, are you three years old?"

"You're just jealous of me."

"..."

Chu Yin was speechless and turned around to leave.

As Chu Wu exited the hotel, she began calling her parents, crying and complaining that Chu Yin bullied her.

Before Chu Yin even reached the elevator, her parents were already calling.

She hung up immediately, not wanting to answer at all.

Who knew someone else would appear right then?

"Ah Yin." Mo Xuyao approached holding a bouquet of roses.

As if facing an enemy, Chu Yin rushed into the elevator and quickly closed the door.

Absolutely ridiculous.

Mo Xuyao turned to the front desk, smiling and offering a tip.

"Could you help me find out which room Chu Yin is in?"

"Sorry sir, we can't disclose guest room numbers."

"Is it not enough?"

Mo Xuyao took out a few more large bills.

The receptionist glanced towards security and gave a signal: "Sir, please leave."

"Is this how you treat your guests? I want to file a complaint."

"Alright, sir. Here's the Sang Group's complaint hotline. We investigate all matters thoroughly." The receptionist maintained a smile, but her eyes turned colder.

"Fine, fine."

Mo Xuyao got a polite but firm rejection.

...

Half an hour later, once Chu Yin made sure the two nuisances downstairs had left, she went down to the hotel kitchen.

She took the opportunity to call Lin Zhiyi.

"You're asking me what Mr. Sang likes to eat?" Lin Zhiyi exclaimed in surprise.

Chu Yin responded with a hum.

"Weren't you two a thing?"

"Cough, cough, cough..." Lin Zhiyi coughed a few times.

"What's wrong? Do you have a cold?"

"Cough, cough!" Lin Zhiyi intensified the coughing.

That's when Chu Yin realized.

"Is Third Young Master with you?"

"..."

"Is he on top of you?" Chu Yin boldly speculated again.

"Chu Yin! No! We're just sitting on the couch watching a movie!"

Lin Zhiyi's voice was embarrassed.

The next second, someone else took the phone.

"Chu Yin, no matter what you make, Sang Li likes everything. Don't call again." A disgruntled male voice came through the phone.

"Oh."

"Beep, beep, beep."

"Beast."

Chu Yin shouted at the phone, then started cooking.

Soon after, Lin Zhiyi's message popped up on WeChat.

"Ah Yin, you don't need to mimic me, just be yourself."

Looking at the message, Chu Yin looked up and saw her plain face reflected in the glass.

It was simple.

Completely unlike Lin Zhiyi's vibrant visage.

Suddenly, she chuckled.

An hour later, she made three home-style dishes and prepared a sobering soup.

A little after nine, Zhou Zhao helped Sang Li to Chu Yin's room.

"I've brought him to you."

"Wow, since when did you trust me so much? Aren't you afraid that I'll take advantage and force your young master to be responsible?" Chu Yin laughed.

"You have the heart but not the guts." Zhou Zhao calmly replied.

Chu Yin supported Sang Li and pouted: "Got it, I've prepared some sobering soup."

"Chu Yin, the young master can give you a hand, but the road ahead is yours to walk. You understand what I mean, right?" Zhou Zhao reminded.

Chu Yin nodded: "Actually, I wanted to talk to him about this very thing. Until I can take charge of my own life, I don't want to cling to him anymore. Just wanted to thank you all."

"By the way, I made some food for you too, it's on the coffee table. Take it with you."

Zhou Zhao walked in with a smile, picked up the meal: "Didn't help for nothing, did I? See you."

Chu Yin supported Sang Li into the room.

As soon as they sat down, Sang Li rubbed his temples with closed eyes.

"Say what you want to say."

Chu Yin was startled: "You, you weren't drunk?"

"If I wasn't faking it, I'd still be stuck at the drinking table now."

Sang Li got up, removed his jacket, and draped it over the chair back. Looking at the dishes before him, he recalled the meal Chu Yin had prepared the last time.

"Did you make it last time too? Sorry, I didn't know."

"Yes, it's fine, you paid me last time, so I actually made a profit." Chu Yin said, feigning light-heartedness.

"Chu Yin, don't talk like that."

Sang Li sat down, picked up the bowl of rice, stopping Chu Yin's false smile.

Chu Yin dropped the smile: "It's really sad. I didn't even get a chance to say anything before you assumed I was only after money."

"Weren't you before?"

"I was, but I also cared about the person." Chu Yin muttered.

"Can't you tone it down a little, just say what's on your mind." Sang Li said, a bit impatient.

"I don't have to with you, do I? You've been reserved enough. If I act like that, how will you ever understand my feelings?"

"Your feelings are written all over your face, I can see them."

"Then what do you think?" Chu Yin asked bluntly.

"I haven't thought about it." Sang Li answered even more directly, "I felt guilty and uncomfortable about having you approach Bai Zhengxian before. But simply because of that, saying I like you isn't fair to you."

"Honestly, I actually prefer women like Zhiyi."

Sang Li didn't want to lie.

Being a man, he indeed had impulses.

He could bear the consequences of those impulses, but it wouldn't be responsible to Chu Yin.

Chu Yin's face turned white for a moment, but she wasn't surprised.

"You're really straightforward."

"Chu Yin..." Sang Li looked up at her, "I won't deny having a liking for you, but I know very well that the current you doesn't need my liking."

Chu Yin listened and smiled.

No wonder he was the man she pestered for over three years.

"I like you too, really like you a lot, not just because you helped me, but because I like you as a person."

"But right now, I have nothing—no money, no fame—though if I keep clinging to you, I could have all of that."

"But feelings require mutual support. I'm not a match for you right now, and I don't want this inferiority to wear me down and erode your feelings for me."

"So, from now on, you're just my boss, and I'll work hard."

Saying this, Chu Yin poured two glasses of wine.

Sang Li raised his glass: "I wish you great success."

"Of course you should wish me well. If I succeed, you'll profit too."

Chu Yin clinked glasses lightly.

After opening up, she didn't regret anything; instead, she found a clearer direction.

Now, the first thing she wanted to do was love herself, to love back the person who had been abandoned by her family.

The next morning, Sang Li took his people back to Hai City.

Chu Yin also met her new manager, who arranged her upcoming schedule very neatly.

She looked out the window from the suite, and everything became clear and bright.
