Chapter 17 Come to the door
Ruan Sangning spent the entire night in a state of alertness. She did not dare to close her eyes and sat on the carpet in the bedroom holding the ax.
It wasn't until dawn that a shrill scream woke up the entire lifeless community.
Ruan Sangning originally didn't intend to see what was going on, but the subsequent "pong" sound of a heavy object hitting the ground once again hit her tense nerves.
Ruan Sangning's legs were numb from sitting for too long. She stumbled when she got up and slowly walked to the window.
Through the window with one-way film, she saw a woman being bitten by a male zombie on the tenth floor of the building diagonally across from her.
Downstairs in that building, a small body was lying in a pool of blood. It was too miserable to look at.
"Ding Dong"
The mobile phone message alert sounded. It was the property management company that sent a message to the owner group.
What the property management company sent out was a surveillance video, and Ruan Sangning clicked on the video to play.
In the video, a woman took advantage of the early morning light to sneak up to the southernmost fence of the community.
The video is not very clear, but it can be seen that she used the tools in her hand to cut off the gill net wrapped around the inside, outside and top of the railing wall.
Then a man climbed in from the outer wall, and the two of them sneaked back into the building.
The woman was so carried away by the surprise that her husband came home safely that she completely failed to notice the man's limping right leg and his body that had begun to twitch slightly.
It is precisely because of this that the tragedy just happened.
The owners in the group of owners have begun to curse. Some people think that this family's death is really tragic, and some people hate that woman for causing misery in the entire community.
Most of the curses were directed at the building where the woman's family lived and the residents on the side close to the damage.
"Ding dong ding dong"
The owner group once again posted a video. In the video, the little body that fell downstairs stood up unsteadily.
Falling from the tenth floor is no joke. What else can be standing up besides zombies?
Half of the child's head was even broken. The red and white brain tissue and the blood that had turned black dripped from the broken half of the head to the ground as he moved.
The little zombie wandered aimlessly below, moving bit by bit towards the place where the smell of humanity was strongest, and the direction it headed towards was Building 23, which was the most populated area.
There has been a lot of scolding in the group, but this is not the only danger.
First of all, the people in Building 18 faced two zombies on the 10th floor. Yes, the woman had mutated, so there were two zombies.
Next is the little zombie wandering downstairs, eyeing Building 23.
Once again, the dangerous answer lies in two more videos just posted by the property management company.
In that damaged corner, dozens of zombies got in or crawled in one after another.
The zombies that had come in were wandering downstairs nearby like headless flies.
There is also the main entrance of the community. The zombies in the car got out for some reason. Two of them were banging their heads and bodies on the door trying to get in.
Of course, what is more terrifying than the two of them is the massive group of zombies not far from the community, which is slowly approaching the community. I can't see how many there are, but it's already scary coming in the direction of the community.
The zombies captured the city far faster than Ruan Sangning thought.
"We can't sit still and wait for death! Otherwise, we will suffer disaster sooner or later. Everyone should unite and destroy those monsters downstairs!"
A person in the owner group posted this message, but almost all those who followed him expressed frustration, and few supported this approach.
"You're talking lightly, don't you know the strength of those monsters? How can we compete with these monsters?"
"That's right. If you go down, won't you die in vain?"
"I have old people and children at home, so I don't dare to take risks."
"I don't think it's appropriate either."
……
Frustrating messages popped up one after another, and the man's message was quickly replaced. The man also became angry and sent another message to the owner group.
"Whether you want to go or not, let's be honest, I am neither a resident of Building 18 nor a resident of Building 23. No matter how dangerous I am, I will not be more dangerous than the people in these two buildings!"
As soon as the man said this, the group immediately became silent. No one was sending messages, and of course no one was making any movement.
Naturally, the man didn't care. For him, the life and death of others had nothing to do with him. He was just worried that too many zombies in the community would harm himself.
Nowadays, all the major social platforms are full of posts asking for help. Some people are asking for money to help him find his family, while others are asking for food and water.
Ruan Sangning even saw someone directly sending out their specific and detailed home address. Now society is not completely in chaos. When people locked up at home go hungry and go crazy, those who leak the address will be the first to suffer.
"what!"
A shrill scream came from the community again, and Ruan Sangning opened the curtains and looked outside.
The door of the unit in Building 23 has been breached by a group of zombies downstairs. The zombies are looking for human contact and rush in with their claws and teeth. Residents on lower floors suffer first.
What's worse is that there are thirty or forty zombies gathered at the gate of the community, and they have been banging on the door of the community. They are tireless, so it seems that it will be a matter of time before they are breached.
Ruan Sangning was still huddled in the quilt. She had not eaten for a whole day, but she did not feel hungry at all, and she would even think of those bloody scenes from time to time.
"dong dong dong"
There was a knock on the door, and Ruan Sangning had no intention of opening the door. Except for the man opposite, no one knew that there was someone in this household, but he couldn't completely believe it, so Ruan Sangning thought it was better not to have too much contact with him.
The knocking on the door lasted for a long time, which made Ruan Sangning panic. She stood up and walked quietly to the door. Before she got close, she heard the sound of the door opening and the man's voice talking.
"What's the matter with you? There's no one living across the street."
not him?
Ruan Sangning didn't expect that the man knocking on the door was not the man opposite. Who could it be?
Ruan Sangning looked at the surveillance camera at the door. Isn't the man standing at the door with his hand still on the door Ruan Jianjun?
His clothes were ragged, his face was sallow and his skin was thin, and he looked in bad spirits.
"How can there be no one living at the opposite door!"
Ruan Jianjun roared angrily.
"This damn girl doesn't come home all day long. She rents an apartment outside. I finally found her and moved away?"
Ruan Jianjun roared angrily, and the next second he moved his eyes tightly to the cat's eye.
"Hehehe, you didn't expect it, did you? I'm not dead yet, and I can still find you!"
Ruan Sangning didn't look at the cat's eyes at all. Of course, this also made her miss Ruan Jianjun's scarlet and somewhat abnormal eyes.
Qi Wenqing recognized that the man in front of him was Ruan Sangning's father, and he was unwilling to interfere in other people's family affairs, as long as he didn't keep knocking on the door and creating danger for him.
Qi Wenqing retreated into the door and was about to close it when Ruan Jianjun suddenly twitched and turned around and rushed towards Qi Wenqing at an extremely fast speed.
