Reborn as the Paranoid Female’s Rejected Sweetheart [Zerg Tribe]

Chapter 27: 6.3 Lingers in His Mind…

After a deep kiss, Yi Er placed his hand on Qi Yao’s head, caressing it for a while, then leaned against his forehead and asked softly, “How did you come here?”

Yi Er was clean and scentless, Qi Yao carefully sniffed but didn’t detect any pheromone scent or traces of suppressants. The joy of reunion made his lips uncontrollably curve upward. “To see how long you’ll keep me in the dark?”

“Keep you in the dark?” Yi Er lowered his head, pretending to be unaware, “What am I keeping from you?”

Qi Yao reached through Yi Er’s arm, pulled him forcefully into his arms, and stubbornly raised his head, “You disobeyed the Male Lord’s orders and used suppressants without permission.”

A slight tremor ran through Yi Er’s heart. Indeed, Qi Yao came for this matter.

His Male Lord regarded this matter far more seriously than he did, even going to the lengths of bringing himself here, softening a place in Yi Er’s heart that he couldn’t reach before.

“I didn’t obey, didn’t you come?” Yi Er chuckled softly.

Qi Yao immediately retorted, “What if I didn’t come?”

“Isn’t it not time yet?”

“It’ll be too late by then.”

Yi Er fell silent. He originally intended to hold on until the end of the battle and deal with this matter when they returned home. But obviously, the unknown future was not in his hands; he could only do his best, not act as he pleased.

“Are you angry?” Yi Er pretended to be casual.

Qi Yao was straightforward, “Yes.”

“…,” Yi Er couldn’t help but recall the last time Qi Yao was angry, it was because he found out about him taking suppressants. How was it resolved last time?

It seemed like he had to yield to Qi Yao’s wishes to calm him down.

So Yi Er employed the same tactic, “Then, how can you not be angry?”

Qi Yao was taken aback. Didn’t he realize that he was pretending?

If he didn’t realize, then he didn’t. Just to tease him a bit, Qi Yao said, “If you take the matter of my second molting seriously, I won’t be angry.”

Yi Er chuckled, circling back to the topic in the end.

Deep down, he was well aware of how dangerous a second molting was for a female zerg.

Whether it was Qi Yao, Dai Na, or anyone else, every zerg who knew him cared more about his second molting than he did. This excessive concern almost made him forget that he and Qi Yao got married precisely to smoothly pass through the second molting.

But now… Yi Er examined his inner thoughts. It seemed that he couldn’t regard the male zerg in front of him as a mere tool zerg anymore.

“Okay, I’ll take it seriously.” Yi Er readily agreed.

The two zergs didn’t linger too long in the cabin. After sorting out their emotions, Yi Er led Qi Yao out of the cabin.

As soon as Qi Yao appeared on the flagship, he immediately attracted the attention of all the zergs.

A male? Everyone’s eyes held the same question.

Wasn’t this male the Male Lord of General Yi Er? Why wasn’t he staying at home properly and appeared here?

Some military females who were unaware of the situation already cast accusing glances at Yi Er, secretly reprimanding him for not protecting the precious male and bringing him to such a dangerous place.

While zergs who knew the reason for Qi Yao’s appearance silently breathed a sigh of relief, the suppressants from the ship’s medical female could finally be distributed to everyone.

Dai Na had just arrived, with many tasks to handle.

As the commanding officer here, after settling Qi Yao, Yi Er went to report the situation to Dai Na as soon as possible.

Qi Yao was left alone in Yi Er’s exclusive resting cabin, waiting for him. Watching the familiar background that had appeared many times on the terminal holographic image, the stone of worry in his heart finally fell.

Feeling bored during the wait, Qi Yao recalled the deep kiss from earlier, then, with a serious expression, called out the system.

The system hesitated for a long time before daring to appear. It had been carefree during the month that Yi Er was absent, until Qi Yao and Yi Er reunited with a kiss just now, hearing Qi Yao’s shout made it realize that there might be a problem.

Anyone could see that Yi Er’s behavior showed concern for Qi Yao, so how could it be just 6.3?

It was quietly reviewing the entire process to find the problem when Qi Yao called it.

At this moment, it was trembling with fear, afraid that Qi Yao would hold it accountable. It nervously responded, “Hos… host.”

Just by the tone of his voice, Qi Yao knew there must be a problem. “Calculate it here for me, is it really just 6.3?”

The system was sweating profusely. It hadn’t found the reason yet, so it stammered, “I… I’ve calculated it, maybe it’s data delay…?”

Qi Yao smirked, saying leisurely, “Delay? It’s been over a month, the delay should have ended. Look at what it is now.”

The system gulped and stuttered, “6… 6.3.”

“Oh, still 6.3.”

The system was a little scared. Qi Yao was clearly smiling, why did he seem so terrifying?

It immediately knelt down, “Host, please don’t be in a hurry, give me some time to review it, I don’t believe it’s only 6.3 either. General Yi Er’s performance clearly warrants a 63. I’m looking for the reason, please sit down, have a drink, and calm down. I’ll report to you as soon as I find out!”

Qi Yao was not in a hurry at all. He crossed his arms and walked leisurely in Yi Er’s resting cabin, waiting for the system to slowly review.

The more Qi Yao behaved like this, the more pressure the system felt. It wanted to calculate every pore while hiding in the corner.

Indeed, Yi Er’s favorability progressed slowly, from 0.1 to 6.3 now, the triggering conditions were random, with no discernible pattern.

After reviewing for a long time without any clue, the system simply suggested to Qi Yao, “Host, I believe now, I might really have a bug. I need to check myself, so I suggest you do something big tonight to stimulate General Yi Er and see if you can trigger more favorability.”

Qi Yao didn’t quite understand.

“What do you mean?” Qi Yao asked.

The system hesitated, “It’s just… it’s just that you kiss General Yi Er again to see if it works…”

“…” Qi Yao fell silent for a moment, realizing something that made him want to smack the system. “When I kissed him just now, didn’t you record it?”

The system whispered, “No, theoretically, such intimate behavior should easily increase favorability, but there was no record, so I suspect… I have a bug…”

Qi Yao’s head was full of black lines. He was speechless at the system’s incompetence.

“Since you have a bug, can you record it if I kiss him again?” Qi Yao asked.

The system was caught off guard by the question. Qi Yao had a point.

After a final struggle, Qi Yao gave up. He comforted himself, realizing that emotions couldn’t be quantified by a bunch of numbers. He shouldn’t have trusted the system’s scientific calculations but rather Yi Er’s actions.

With the system, he couldn’t complain to anyone but the system itself.

Finally, he said, “Okay, I got it. You hurry up and find the problem. I won’t rely on you for the rest.”

The system, eager to escape being the dumbest one in the transmigration system, didn’t even say goodbye properly before rushing off to find the issue.

Not long after chatting with the system, Yi Er returned.

Seeing Yi Er, Qi Yao swept away the gloom of the system bug. “The meeting finished so quickly?”

“Yeah, His Majesty and Her Majesty have been keeping an eye on this side. Tonight’s meeting was just a simple analysis and discussion of the recent situation.”

Yi Er didn’t intend to talk too much about the military situation with Qi Yao. After taking off his uniform and relaxing, he became concerned about Qi Yao’s work. “How’s your progress with studying under Teacher Nos?”

Upon hearing this, Qi Yao became enthusiastic. “What? Are you going to check?”

“How would I check? Give you a starship to dismantle?” Yi Er teased.

Qi Yao patted his chest. “That’s not impossible. Do you trust me General Yi Er?”

Yi Er raised his voice slightly. “That’s quite confident of you.”

“Even if you don’t trust me, you should trust Nos teaching ability.”

“Then, I’ll check your learning progress for Teacher Nuo another day.”

Qi Yao’s eyes lit up. “I’ll definitely show you something amazing.”

Yi Er raised an eyebrow.

Qi Yao smirked. “See, I knew you didn’t trust me.”

Yi Er pretended to be serious. “Starships are important for military females. Even though you’re my lord, if you want me to trust you, you should at least prove it with practical results.”

“Then, wait and see.”

After chatting for a while, the two zergs washed up and lay down on the bed.

The rest cabin only had one bed, which was not as spacious as their home. If Qi Yao and Yi Er lay on it together, it would feel cramped.

Qi Yao had a good sleep on Dai Na’s starship and was now refreshed. He turned over and lay on his side, staring at Yi Er with bright eyes.

Feeling uncomfortable under Qi Yao’s gaze, Yi Er couldn’t help but ask, “Why are you staring at me?”

Qi Yao couldn’t shake off his concern about the 6.3. He wanted to confirm, “Yi Er, have you missed me during this time?”

Yi Er answered with half-closed eyes, “If I didn’t miss you, I wouldn’t have contacted you proactively.”

“Wasn’t it because you were in estrus?” Qi Yao asked.

Yi Er fell silent for a moment. “No, it wasn’t.”

Every time he returned to the mothership and saw other military females reporting to their lords, Yi Er would also think of his lord. Although their contact was not frequent, it was always heartfelt.

Qi Yao was very satisfied with this answer. Yi Er thinking of him meant at least he wasn’t unreciprocated. This unequal feeling he had always felt was comforted by these two words.

In the midst of the long silence, Qi Yao suddenly remembered the main topic and asked Yi Er, “How many times did you go into estrus while I was away?”

“Three times, one of which you caught me,” Yi Er replied.

“Was it difficult?” Qi Yao inquired.

“Not really, the resident medic female always has suppressants ready,” Yi Er responded.

Qi Yao grabbed Yi Er’s hand.

Yi Er didn’t need to guess what Qi Yao was going to do. He closed his eyes and let Qi Yao hold his hand, immersing himself in the mental support Qi Yao provided, listening to Qi Yao’s chattering questions.

“When is your second molting?” Qi Yao asked.

“I don’t know,” Yi Er replied.

“No premonition?” Qi Yao asked.

“The resident medic female said it’s probably within this month,” Yi Er answered.

“Then I came just in time,” Qi Yao remarked.

“Yes, you came just in time,” Yi Er replied absentmindedly, not noticing when Qi Yao had moved closer to him.

Soft lips brushed against his, as Qi Yao kissed him gently. Yi Er didn’t explore further, just patiently savored the tender kisses, feeling comforted by Qi Yao’s careful affection.

After kissing enough, Qi Yao left contentedly. “Goodnight,” he said to Yi Er.

In some unknown corner, the system finished its devout prayer to the heavens, wiped the sweat off its forehead, and solemnly pressed the clear cache button on its body.
