With disbelief and indignance in his eyes, Michael searched through the other weapons to see if they had a much more palatable price.
But no. ChatJK5 wasn't that kind to him. Most, if not all, of the [Uncommon] weapons available in the Emporium were priced 400 Mini Drones and above!
What kind of unscrupulous business practice is this?! Are these really all priced like this, or did you just put it that high because you know I have that much money?!

ChatJK5's nonchalant and robotic cadence finally gave in because of Michael's incessant and repetitive complaints.
[Michael, let's be real here. These weapons are all rated in the Uncommon rank for a reason. With a weapon like this, you'll actually be able to kill a Nascent Spirit cultivator. With your cultivation, you wouldn't even be able to make a single scratch on their skin!]
Her sensible reasoning left Michael silently grumbling to himself. He wasn't really complaining to ChatJK5, he was just airing out his grievances to his own misery.
Who could blame him? Just when he thought he'd finally got out of living in
'squalor', here came an item that would put him back to square one.
You know what, let me search for more items. Maybe I'll find something better.
Yes, the [Recalcitrant Jade Sword] was the most powerful sword he had ever laid his eyes on, but that didn't mean it was fitting for someone like him.
He had the wherewithal to purchase those weapons, but not the skill to wield them.
If he faced a Nascent Spirit realm wielding that jian, he'd still lose 100 times to 1. After all, they were probably extremely efficient in using their own weapons having been training with it for all their life, while he only had a cursory proficiency on weapons like the sword, axe, spears, etc.

There really was only one option that he should consider: firearms.
The modern way of war was the only advantage he had against these demigods. They wouldn't expect it. As long as he used it as his trump card, even a Nascent Piece like that Shadow Knight wouldn't be able to react.

He wanted something that was both versatile and packed a lot of punch.
To be honest, he would have wanted to buy a sniper instead of a handgun. He would rather attack a Nascent Spirit cultivator from afar rather than up front—less chance of getting killed, and all.
But unfortunately, high caliber guns like that were way out of his budget. The lowest sniper he saw was priced at a thousand Mini Drones!
So, he had to limit his choices to small firearms for now.
In the end, only one gun caught his eye.

This was the best gun that fit his current needs. The only thing bad about this gun was its low firing rate, but he didn't need that. Ideally, he would only need one shot, because the next shot could easily be intercepted once his opponent knew what to expect.
After deliberating for a few more minutes, Michael decided to pull the trigger and add it to his cart.

Michael sighed. He completely forgot that the bullets for these guns needed to be purchased separately.
Guns may be overpowered compared to swords and other traditional weapons, but they were limited by their ammunition. He'd need to constantly replenish his bullets if he wanted to keep using it, which amounted to a lot of Mini Drones all in all.
How much is a complete set of ammo?

Michael felt his head aching once again. Such a steep price! Maybe it would be better to buy the sword instead, since he wouldn't need any additional purchases for it.

The next thing on my mind is a defensive item. The gun should only be used at the last moment.
With how powerful Nascent Spirit cultivators were, he had no doubt in his mind that their speed was much faster than his reaction time.
They could realistically cut off his arms before he could even unholster his gun.
So, a proper defensive item was needed.
