"Swish!" Su Nian extended his claws, then retracted them, and swished them out again. After repeating this process several times, he had become quite adept at the maneuver.
It was actually kind of fun...
He wondered if, after collecting more system points, he could remove the barbs on, well, that certain part of his anatomy, and then...
No, that's way too perverted.
Shaking his head to dismiss the thought, Su Nian used his retracted dragon claws to gently pry open Anna's mouth. With his other claw, he skillfully picked up the Revitalization Potion and lightly tapped it against his dragon horn.
Pop! The cork on the potion bottle was pried open by the dragon horn, and the faintly glowing red liquid began to emit a soft luminescence. Su Nian didn't dare to waste any time; he carefully poured the healing potion into Anna's mouth.
The effect of the Revitalization Potion was immediate. Su Nian watched as Anna's remaining life expectancy jumped from 17 hours to 3 days and 8 hours before finally stopping.
Anna's complexion visibly improved. Her lips were no longer pale, and her previously ashen face now had a hint of color. Though her life was still like a candle flickering in the wind, Su Nian couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.
As expected, it was only a temporary fix. But for now, buying time was enough.
Su Nian didn't feel too disappointed. After all, with such severe heart failure, if a single Revitalization Potion could completely cure her, then that potion would be ridiculously overpowered.
He crawled to the side and began sorting through the medicinal herbs.
Some of these herbs might have conflicting properties, so he could only follow the system's prompts, observing Anna's condition while testing them one by one.
"Next, let's try the Fugan Branches."
Su Nian tossed a handful of Fugan Branches into his mouth and began chewing. Then, retracting his claws, he lifted Anna's chin and gently pried open her small mouth, feeding her the chewed-up herbs bit by bit.
Even though his dragon skull was quite large, the dragon's mouth was narrower at the front. And besides, didn't he have a tongue?
If the herbs wouldn't go down, he could just stir them around a bit. Stirring would ensure everything went in, so feeding her wasn't too difficult.
After feeding her the Fugan Branches, Su Nian waited while observing Anna's information panel.
Sure enough, the coughing debuff he had seen through his Basic Insight skill began to flicker.
This indicated that the Fugan Branches were taking effect.
However, Anna's remaining life expectancy didn't change. Perhaps the coughing wasn't life-threatening.
"Next up: Lianxing Leaves and Zisang Berries."
The Zisang Berries were something Su Nian had discovered later, growing alongside some Lianxing Leaves. Since they were found together, he guessed their properties might be similar. This time, he mixed the two herbs together, chewing them into a paste before feeding them to Anna again.
Soon, the lung inflammation debuff began to flicker. This time, Anna's remaining life expectancy increased by another day.
Rubbing his dragon chin thoughtfully, Su Nian speculated that lung inflammation was a serious complication. Feeding her medicine once wouldn't cure it; he would have to persist in giving her daily doses to stabilize her condition.
"Bloodgrass Mushrooms, Bloodgrass Mushrooms... chomp chomp, ugh... Why is this so bitter?!"
Su Nian's entire dragon face scrunched up. The Bloodgrass Mushrooms were unbearably bitter.
It was worth noting that as a dragon, his taste buds weren't fully developed before adulthood—a genetic trait designed to prevent young dragons from being picky eaters.
If even Su Nian found them bitter, other races, especially those who enjoyed cooking their food like elves and humans, would find them ten times as bitter.
"Good medicine tastes bitter, but it cures the illness~"
With this thought, Su Nian pried open Anna's mouth again and shoved the chewed-up Bloodgrass Mushrooms into her mouth.
"Mmm-mmm! Ptoo! Stop, mmm..."
Anna's mouth was held shut by Su Nian, preventing her from speaking. Her big, pitiful eyes blinked helplessly as she and the dragon stared at each other.
Perhaps the bitter taste had stimulated her nerves, or maybe the Revitalization Potion had already alleviated some of her physical pain. Whatever the reason, Anna woke up during the feeding process, just at the most awkward moment.
An atmosphere of embarrassment began to brew.
Anna tried to struggle, but a dragon claw firmly pinned her to the ground. The bitterness in her mouth overwhelmed her senses, bringing tears to her eyes.
Su Nian, however, couldn't care less. If she didn't swallow the medicine, wouldn't it go to waste?
To ensure Anna swallowed the medicine, Su Nian stirred his dragon tongue, pushing the chewed-up Bloodgrass Mushrooms forward. A large mouthful of the bitter paste was shoved down Anna's throat and swallowed.
Releasing Anna, Su Nian left her lying on the ground, looking utterly defeated, tears streaming from her eyes, with remnants of the Bloodgrass Mushrooms still around her mouth.
"Mr. Dragon... It's so bitter..."
Anna understood that the black dragon was feeding her medicine, so she didn't blame him for the bitterness. However, that didn't stop her from making a small, pitiful complaint.

Bitter? It's supposed to be bitter!
The more bitterness you endure now, the sweeter life will taste later.
Su Nian noticed that the anemia debuff on Anna's panel had also begun to flicker, albeit very slowly.
After all, treating anemia required more than just medicine; proper nutrition was essential. From the looks of it, this fox-eared girl hadn't had a decent meal in days.
Seeing Anna's pitiful appearance, Su Nian pondered for a moment. He spent one system point to exchange for a piece of White Rabbit Creamy Candy and handed it to Anna, who had managed to sit up against the rock wall.
Anna stared at the black dragon's strange gesture, blinking in confusion. She accepted the candy but didn't recognize what it was.
"Mr. Dragon, is this for Anna?"
Su Nian nodded. Seeing her puzzled expression, he took the candy back, skillfully unwrapped it, and handed the white, plump candy back to her.
To make sure Anna understood, he picked up a nearby berry, popped it into his mouth, and gestured that the candy was meant to be eaten.
"So it's food..."
Realizing his intention, Anna held the candy in both hands and sniffed it.
It had a faint, milky fragrance.
Milk? She had tasted unicorn milk before but had never seen solid milk.
Curious and hesitant, Anna took a small bite of the candy.

The sweet taste spread across her tongue, even washing away some of the bitterness left by the Bloodgrass Mushrooms.
Holding the candy, Anna squinted her big eyes in happiness.
It was the sweetest, most delicious thing she had ever tasted.
[It's so sweet... like being in my mother's embrace...]
[But Mr. Dragon seems to have only one of these. Even though it's delicious, Anna shouldn't keep it all to herself...]
[Mr. Dragon has already taken such good care of Anna.]
This was Anna's inner voice, picked up by Su Nian's Occasionally-Functional Mind-Reading Feature.
Glancing at Anna, Su Nian thought to himself that one system point could buy one candy. Killing a human of the same rank as him could earn him about ten points, and killing a magical beast of the same rank could net him five or six. Since there was no limit on the number of candies he could exchange, he could get as many as he wanted.
"Mr. Dragon!"
Anna's voice interrupted Su Nian's thoughts. She looked up at him with her fair, adorable face, a little shy as she carefully held up the White Rabbit Creamy Candy.
"Um... Anna only took a small bite. It's very sweet and delicious, but Mr. Dragon should have some too."
