Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1220: Almost Discovered

"Mr. Fujiwara, everyone's here. Can we go in now? If we keep dawdling, we might as well pack it up and head home!"

Oil Rat didn't want to delay any longer. He had secretly sneaked out of H Province this time and just heard yesterday that the police were investigating him. This gave Oil Rat a sense of crisis, and he just wanted to finish the business at hand as soon as possible, take the money, and make a swift getaway to a safer place to hide for a while.

Fujiwara Seiho twirled the small knife in his hand a few times in the air, the blade appearing even colder under the moonlit night. Just as he was about to announce the plan, his ears suddenly perked up as if he heard something, his expression turning serious as he looked at Mr. Huang and asked, "Mr. Huang, did you come alone?"

Mr. Huang paused, turned back to look at Mr. Fujiwara, his expression slightly chilly, "What does Mr. Fujiwara mean by this? Do you doubt me, Huang?"

Mr. Fujiwara's mouth curled slightly, the knife in his hand barely visible, his technique was quite skillful, "Nothing really, just wanted to ask Mr. Huang if you noticed anyone following you when you came."

Mr. Huang paused his steps upon hearing this and sneered, "If Mr. Fujiwara doesn't trust me, feel free to go into the ancient tomb alone."

Mr. Fujiwara snorted lightly, stopped the rolling knife in his hand, and suddenly used just three fingers to pinch the knife, his joints turning slightly white from the force.

Just as everyone wondered why he suddenly changed attitude towards Mr. Huang, Mr. Fujiwara suddenly flicked his hand, and an icy light shot out from his hand, disappearing into the nearby dense forest.

Soon, a tragic scream echoed from the forest, and a pigeon fluttered out from the bushes, flying straight into the sky, quickly disappearing into the night.

Seeing Mr. Fujiwara display this skill, not just Oil Rat and Luo Fatso, but even the few tomb raiders who came along turned pale.

They were all in the business of grave digging for resale and valued their lives above all else. Young Master Teng's move had indeed frightened them.

"Turns out it was just a wild pigeon!"

Fujiwara Seiho sighed with relief and said awkwardly to Mr. Huang, "Mr. Huang, I apologize, I made a mistake."

But Mr. Huang was obviously not someone who could be appeased with just a few words. Fujiwara Seiho's demonstration seemed cautious on the surface, but it was actually a deliberate intimidation, which made Mr. Huang quite displeased. He couldn't help but sneer:

"I didn't volunteer for this matter. Mr. Fujiwara, if you don't trust me, say so early. Let's solve the problem directly, rather than causing disputes inside. I hope you stick to our previous agreement. I'll take you inside, do what you want, but I just want one thing!"

"Since it's agreed upon, I'll naturally abide by it. The Fujiwara Family values promises greatly, please rest assured on that!" Fujiwara Seiho straightened his expression upon hearing Mr. Huang speak so seriously.

Nearby Huo Sining tightly covered Qibao's mouth, fearing the little guy might make another sound.

They had followed Oil Rat and his crew all the way here and had been hiding so well along the journey without letting anyone notice anything. Who would've thought that just as Mr. Huang appeared, Qibao accidentally stepped on a dry twig, making quite a noise, and it was heard by Fujiwara Seiho? If it wasn't for Huo Sining's quick thinking, tossing a pigeon from her storage ring at the last moment, they would've been discovered by those tomb robbers!

Looking at the ninja throwing knife stuck less than two centimeters from her face in the tree trunk, still trembling, Huo Sining felt lingering fear. It was just a few centimeters closer and it would've pierced her face!

Just then, Mr. Huang directly walked to a cliff face and pushed aside a huge rock.

Soon, an inclined downward hole was revealed, the entrance dark and eerie, completely obscuring what lay inside, while Huo Sining and the others watched those men disappear into the hole.

Even after those people disappeared, Huo Sining dared not let go of Qibao's mouth, waiting a full ten minutes to ensure they wouldn't come back before she released Qibao.

Huo Sining was planning to follow them into the hole when Yang Xiaohan's call came unexpectedly. Fortunately, she had set her phone to silent mode at the lodge earlier to monitor Oil Rat, otherwise the ringtone in such a quiet mountain late at night would be quite terrifying.

Although those tomb robbers had already gone into the hole, Huo Sining still felt uneasy, so she hung up the call and, taking Qibao, headed back to her car parked a kilometer away before calling Yang Xiaohan back.

Once the call connected, Yang Xiaohan's urgent voice asked, "Miss Huo, where are you now?"

Huo Sining hesitated a bit but eventually decided to speak the truth, "I'm in Xianyang."

"Why did you go to Xianyang?" Yang Xiaohan was somewhat puzzled.

"I couldn't reach you by phone this morning, and was planning to go to the police station to find you, but I accidentally ran into that Oil Rat on the street, so I followed him all the way to Xianyang," Huo Sining explained.

Yang Xiaohan was instantly taken aback, "Oil Rat went to Xianyang?!"

Huo Sining felt a bit helpless inside; it seemed these tomb robbers were quite capable at running circles around the police, "Not just Oil Rat, but the merchant who sold me the Ancient Jade last night also came."

Huo Sining then recounted the events after following Oil Rat to Xianyang to Yang Xiaohan, who grew anxious upon hearing this, "Are you still at the foot of the mountain? No, you must return to the lodge immediately. I'll go report this upper management, don't act rashly!"

Huo Sining indeed wanted to follow those people inside, but with a child by her side, she hesitated and agreed to Yang Xiaohan's advice, driving back to the lodge with Qibao.

She had barely slept a few hours when she heard the sound of doors opening and closing from the room next door. Huo Sining jumped alertly from bed.

Someone came back!

Huo Sining placed her right hand on the wall and indeed saw four tomb robbers had returned to the room, looking dusty and worn out. One of them was Luo Fatso, who had spoken with Oil Rat before.
