Reborn as Issei Hyoudou: The Phat to Supremacy

Chapter 3: Chapter 3: A New Path, A New Power

The moment the chat fell silent, a wave of force hit me like a storm.

It wasn't physical—it was something deeper, something that resonated with my very existence. My consciousness twisted, reality flickering like a broken screen. It was as if the void I was in had collapsed, pulling me into an unseen current.

Then—

I opened my eyes.

Gasping, I shot upright, my body drenched in sweat. My lungs burned, greedily sucking in the cool night air. My heart pounded so violently it felt like it might explode.

I was alive.

I blinked rapidly, trying to process where I was.

A bed. Red silk sheets. A familiar, dimly lit room.

I knew this place.

This was Rias Gremory's bedroom.

My mind stalled. No, wait—this was supposed to happen. In the original timeline, Rias had revived me after my death at the hands of Raynare, turning me into her Pawn.

But this time… something was different.

I wasn't the same Issei Hyoudou anymore.

I had a system.

I had knowledge of the future.

And most importantly—

I had a gift from the Multiversal Chat Group.

I closed my eyes, focusing inward, and immediately felt it. A foreign power pulsed deep within my soul, something that wasn't part of me before.

It was raw, untamed—yet unbelievably lethal.

I clenched my fists, feeling an unfamiliar strength coursing through my veins.

What exactly did I receive?

I mentally pulled up my system interface.

[Status Window]

Name: Issei Hyoudou

Race: Reincarnated Devil

Class: Pawn (Rias Gremory's Peerage)

Affiliation: Occult Research Club

Unique Traits: Supremacy System User, Multiversal Chat Group Member

Abilities:

• Boosted Gear (Sealed)

• ??? (New Skill Acquired)

I frowned. A new ability?

The system hadn't even named it—it was just a series of question marks.

Before I could examine it further, the door creaked open.

"You're awake."

I looked up.

Rias Gremory stood in the doorway, her crimson hair cascading down her back, her piercing blue eyes watching me with quiet intensity.

Even now, after seeing her countless times in anime and fan art, the real thing was stunning beyond words.

"How do you feel?" she asked, stepping closer.

I swallowed, pushing down my initial urge to fanboy.

Instead, I smiled. "Better than ever."

She raised an eyebrow, seemingly surprised at my confidence. "That's good to hear. Most people wouldn't say that after coming back from the dead."

I chuckled. "I guess I'm not most people."

Her gaze lingered on me, as if trying to figure me out.

Then, she nodded. "That's true. You're not."

She gracefully walked over to the edge of my bed and sat down. "Do you know what happened to you?"

I hesitated.

I could tell her the truth—or at least part of it. But I had to be careful. I knew how the supernatural world worked. Even though Rias was technically on my side, that didn't mean I should just blindly trust her with everything.

For now, I needed to act normal.

"Yeah," I said, rubbing the back of my head. "I… remember getting attacked. A girl with black wings stabbed me, and then…" I trailed off, pretending to struggle with my words. "Everything went dark."

Rias nodded, watching me closely. "That girl was a Fallen Angel. She tried to kill you because you unknowingly got involved with the supernatural."

That much was true.

"And you brought me back," I added, meeting her gaze.

She smiled. "I did. You were too important to let die."

That wasn't exactly the reason.

She brought me back because she needed pieces for her Peerage. And because I was compatible with the Boosted Gear.

But I didn't say anything.

Instead, I smiled. "Then I guess I owe you my life, Buchou."

Her eyes softened slightly at my words. "You don't owe me anything. But I do expect you to work hard from now on."

I nodded. "Of course."

Suddenly—

[Ding!]

A new notification popped up in my vision.

[Multiversal Chat Group - New Mission Available]

Mission: Prove Yourself

Objective: Demonstrate your new power in an upcoming battle.

Reward: 1000 Multiversal Points + Skill Enhancement

I froze.

A mission?

I hadn't even done anything yet, and the system was already throwing tasks at me?

But wait—this could be a good thing.

If the chat group gave me points, that meant I could exchange them for skills, abilities, or even items.

Which meant I could grow faster than anyone else.

I grinned.

This was going to be fun.

Later That Night…

After Rias left, I sat cross-legged on the floor, eyes closed, focusing on my new ability.

I needed to figure out what the system had given me.

Taking a deep breath, I reached inward, searching for the new power that had fused with my soul.

And then—

I found it.

A name surfaced in my mind.

And my blood ran cold.

Because I knew what it was.

It was a technique from a completely different world.

A technique that belonged to a man feared across multiple realities.

Slowly, I whispered the name under my breath.

"…Hakai."

The room trembled.

A deep, primal force ignited within me, raw and destructive, as if the very fabric of existence itself was responding to my call.

I lifted my hand, watching as an aura of pure erasure flickered at my fingertips.

Hakai—The Power of Destruction.

Not the kind that devils like Sirzechs or Rias had.

No.

This was something far worse.

This was the destruction energy used by Gods of Destruction.

And now…

It belonged to me.

I exhaled, my grin widening.

"Well… this just got interesting."
