Reborn as a Tough Army Wife

Chapter 456: Misunderstanding

Liu Fengsheng just told her that there is a nice house next door which is priced reasonably, and suggested that Juzi could go take a look.

Juzi was in fact willing to do so; her aim was to live closer to Fang Pingying—the house next door, after all, was only up and down a flight of stairs, which made everything very convenient.

Juzi and her husband stayed here until after ten o'clock in the evening, then left with Fang Xiu's family, and incidentally dropped Yu'er off at the shop.

Everyone had left, and Fang Pingying went to the next room to look at the two little ones.

Because Fang Pingying had been busy recently and the children were growing bigger and could eat some solid foods, they weren't breastfed as often. She didn't feed them milk at night anymore and planned to gradually wean them.

Therefore, they occasionally spent the night sleeping with Luo Honglan.

When the guests were around and many people were in the living room, the little ones went to bed early. Fang Pingying was busy entertaining guests, and Luo Honglan took them to her room early on.

Seeing the two little ones sleeping soundly, Fang Pingying didn't move them around and let them sleep in Luo Honglan's room.

Fang Pingying returned to her own room just as Luo Zhiyong, fresh from the bath, came out of the bathroom.

Seeing him in his thermal underwear, toweling his hair, she pushed him onto the bed, exclaiming, "Get into bed quick, it's still cold. Dry your hair and go to sleep early. You'll need to go to the army tomorrow, right?"

Luo Zhiyong winked at Fang Pingying, pulled her into his arms, and whispered in her ear with a deep voice, "Wife, I'll wait for you. Come to sleep."

The two hadn't seen each other for a long while, Fang Pingying knew what he wanted to do.

Moreover, being sprayed by his warm breath beside her ear, Fang Pingying's face immediately turned red. She lightly pushed him and whispered, "Don't wait for me, I'm not ready yet. I ran around today and sweated a bit, I need to take a shower too."

Luo Zhiyong smiled, tightened his grip on her hand, and said with a laugh, "I've heated the water for you, it should be ready by now, you should hurry."

Fang Pingying knew what he meant, blushing, she glared at him for a while then took her clothes to the bathroom to shower.

After her shower, Fang Pingying found Luo Zhiyong still not in bed, sitting at the edge, looking somewhat awkward.

Seeing Fang Pingying enter, Luo Zhiyong's eyes sparkled intensely watching her. Fang Pingying approached him and gently asked, "What's wrong, haven't seen me for so long that you don't recognize me?"

Luo Zhiyong's eyes deepened as he looked into Fang Pingying's eyes, then he bent over, slid his hand under her knees, and lifted her onto the bed. He then gently covered her and instantly started kissing Fang Pingying passionately.

Much later, when Fang Pingying could hardly breathe, Luo Zhiyong let her go. He looked deeply into her eyes with both hands gently stroking her hair, and whispered in her ear, "Where did the clothes in the bag come from?"

Fang Pingying hadn't recovered from their passionate moments yet. She glanced at the bed, thinking Luo Zhiyong meant the paper bag that Liu Fengsheng brought for the two little ones, and replied casually, "Liu Fengsheng just brought them to our house."

"What, the clothes are from Liu Fengsheng?" As soon as Luo Zhiyong heard this, his face turned livid, and he abruptly got up from the bed, his expression full of anger, "I knew that Liu Fengsheng didn't look like a good person, to actually give someone such stuff, and you even dared to accept it?"

Fang Pingying was stunned; how could this man change so quickly? His anger flared up as soon as Liu Fengsheng was mentioned, as if he was a completely different person from just moments ago.

Fang Pingying also started to feel displeased, and frowned at Luo Zhiyong, "Luo Zhiyong, are you just looking for a fight as soon as you get back? It was his first time visiting our home, he felt embarrassed to come empty-handed, so what's wrong with him bringing some clothes for the children?"

Luo Zhiyong sneered coldly and threw a bag that was under the bed next to Fang Pingying, "Take a look yourself, is this children's clothing?"

Fang Pingying glared at him and took the paper bag with a huff, only to realize she had grabbed the wrong bag, it wasn't the clothes for the little ones but the two sets of lingerie that Juzi had given her.

Only then did Fang Pingying realize her mistake, she quickly smiled at Luo Zhiyong and explained, "Ah, I made a mistake, these clothes were given by Juzi, the stuff in the other bag was from Liu Fengsheng."

Saying so, Fang Pingying took another paper bag from the bed, took out the clothes that were for Ruirui and Yaoyao and showed them to Luo Zhiyong, "Here, these clothes were bought by Liu Fengsheng for Yaoyao and Ruirui."

Luo Zhiyong glanced at the two paper bags, they indeed looked similar, it was understandable to confuse them, and he believed his wife was not that kind of person.

However, thinking about Liu Fengsheng again, Luo Zhiyong started to feel uneasy; he felt Liu Fengsheng was untrustworthy, impulsively, he asked another question, "Are you sure, you didn't get it wrong?"

Upon hearing this, Fang Pingying's face also darkened, she looked at him and asked, "Luo Zhiyong, what do you mean by that?"

Because she initially misspoke, Luo Zhiyong misunderstood and rebuked her, she could forgive that, but now that she had clarified, Luo Zhiyong still appeared distrustful. Was he questioning her feelings for him?

Luo Zhiyong actually regretted asking that question just now, but having said it, it seemed like no explanation would suffice.

Luo Zhiyong reached out to take Fang Pingying's hand, trying to explain, "I didn't mean anything special, just casually asking."

Fang Pingying shook off his hand and looked at him coldly, "Just casually asking? But you are telling me you don't trust me, nor the friends I make. You are suspecting that there's something inappropriate between me and Liu Fengsheng, aren't you?"

Luo Zhiyong really had never doubted Fang Pingying, but he did suspect Liu Fengsheng.

Thinking about it, he was indeed being petty, and yet, he still tried to pacify Fang Pingying gently, "What did I say? It was a misunderstanding you had just now, I just asked one more question."

Fang Pingying replied, "Luo Zhiyong, if you can't trust people, then we shouldn't continue this life together, we might as well just divorce, and live our separate lives." In Fang Pingying's view, that extra question he asked just exposed his thoughts; he simply didn't trust her.

If there is no belief in a couple, how can life together continue?

Luo Zhiyong felt that Fang Pingying was overreacting, especially since she mentioned divorce at every turn, something Luo Zhiyong found intolerable. In his view, it is normal for a married couple to argue, just explain it clearly and it should be fine. Constantly bringing up divorce was a habit he could not indulge.

Thus, he also became stern, looked at Fang Pingying, and said, "I had some doubts about the situation, so I asked you about it. What's wrong with that?"
