Chapter 17: The Lion Savage Beast
There was a sudden stir in the water, just like a pot of boiling water, churning violently, and a head larger than the giant beast just now emerged from the water. The head alone was almost twice as big as the giant beast just now. The unknown monster suddenly appeared, almost stirring the entire pond, and water splashed up.
The facial features of this giant beast were ferocious, creating a boundless pressure in the environment. Its head was like a male lion, with a crowded, dark mane surrounding its neck. Two long tentacles were growing next to its nose, and its body was full of horn-like protrusions. Its shielded bumpy skin showed its powerful defence capabilities.
The lion beast let out a loud roar, making the surroundings vibrate. After Brandon heard this roar, he looked towards it. The water in the river below the deep pool surged and the waves were rough, as if countless invisible animals were running for their lives... This guy is obviously the king of this deep pool.
The lion beast glanced at the killed beast on the shore and turned its head towards Brandon standing in the corner. It slowly began crawling towards the shore. Brandon clearly saw the contempt in this monster's eyes.
The lion beast climbed up slowly. It seemed that it didn't like to go ashore, and the crawling efforts seemed to be very laborious for that monster.
Finally, after a lot of effort, the lion beast's huge body was completely exposed in the air, like a hill. The lion-headed beast looked as huge as a pickup truck and weighed an estimated five or six tons. This huge lion beast's feet had been severely degraded and had become like duck paws. Its tail was more than six metres long, broad and flat, and looked like a fish's tail.
Obviously, this kind of paws and tail were more suitable for living in water. The huge feet moved very slowly on the ground, making a dull sound. The dark cuticles all over the body were arranged around the body like giant thorns. Brandon even saw many tiny creatures crawling between the cuticles. Brandon estimates that with this defence alone, that monster was already invincible.
The most terrifying thing was that the six-metre-long tail was slithering on the ground like a giant snake. It was scary to see. If I am to be slapped by this tail, even if I would not die, I would not have many breaths left. Brandon looked at the mountain-like lion beast with a blank expression.
That lion beast was no longer something that Brandon could defeat. Moreover, Brandon Drake had been seriously injured now, and his Golden Bell was only at three levels.
The lion beast simply ignored Brandon, spraying white water vapour from its nose and shaking its head. It walked up to the corpse of the giant beast and opened its huge mouth, exposing its sharp teeth, and began to bite the previous giant beast.
The strong scales of the giant beast were obviously nothing in front of the lion beast. With a light bite of his teeth, the huge scales were shattered by his bite, and a huge piece of meat was torn off by it and swallowed directly.
Brandon swallowed a gulp of saliva involuntarily. He lay there motionless due to the fear of arousing the hostility of the lion beast. It would probably leave when its stomach would be full, Brandon began to comfort himself.
The lion beast ate for about ten minutes and finally finished. At this time, the carcass of the giant beast had only a few huge bones left. Brandon could not help but admire the lion beast’s good appetite.
The lion beast let out a comfortable burp, without even looking at Brandon, and slowly crawled towards the deep pool.
With a loud splash, the beast finally returned to the deep pool. Brandon looked at the deep pool with lingering fear and couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. After more than ten minutes, he found that there was no movement in the water. He greeted Skyler and started walking towards the waterway again.
Fortunately, the monsters were not interested in the treasure chest, otherwise there would be no place to cry. Brandon obviously missed the treasure inside.
Brandon carefully passed through the waterway without encountering any unexpected situations. Maybe the lion beast just now scared away the other giant beasts in the water.
Quickly passing through the waterway, Brandon continued to walk forward. He didn't know for how long he had been walking, but there was a faint roar in front of him. As time went by, the roar grew louder, the underground river grew wider, and the cave grew larger. In some places, Brandon had to swim across.
There were many floating aquatic plants on the water in front. There were many mosquitoes, water spiders, and locusts growing on the duckweed and aquatic plants.
Just when Brandon was getting annoyed, the light in front of him suddenly became brighter and brighter. After passing a corner, Brandon suddenly saw the sky outside.
Brandon held back a loud cheer and let out a hoarse cry. Skyler flew into the sky with a whoosh, and her joyful screams came from outside. The sky was Skyler's territory. Staying in the cave for such a long time had obviously worn Skyler out.
Dusk was almost over, darkness was coming, and there were only a few red clouds left in the sky. Brandon suppressed his excitement and walked forward quickly.
Within a few minutes, Brandon was stunned. Brandon was on the edge of a cliff. A huge waterfall gushed down from the entrance of Brandon's cave, falling into a pool of unknown depth dozens of metres below. Brandon jumped to a round rock, and the raging water splashed down Brandon's scales from time to time.
Brandon was wandering around on the rocks, feeling conflicted in his heart. After much hesitation, he finally made a decision, with a determined look on his face. He placed the treasure box in his hand heavily on the reef, found the small box containing the sword hilt and the strange crystal, and held it firmly in his hand.
His face was determined, but his eyebrows couldn't hide the pain in his heart. He closed his eyes and jumped into the water pool.
