Is this Memory Fragment telling me that I have to go back to my real body?

To plant my soul in there… and finally revive.

Is that even a thing?

Will it even work?!

How can I even find myself, though? Where would I even be hospitalized?

It would take a while to find my body…

And that's if it has somehow remained alive all these years, but… they didn't really have much money. There's no way they could afford that for so long.

Right?

I don't know what to think, but… if I have to be honest, I am kind of happy to know this.

Perhaps it's just fake, and there won't be anything left of me once I go back to Earth.

Maybe it won't even be my Earth.

Or maybe all of this is a Dream, and I am still in a coma out there.

But I am fairly sure that if I learned that, I would be able to wake up now, which is not the case.

So yes, this is most likely all real…

And…

I'm kind of happy.

I feel a lot of hope right now, that I have somewhere to go back to, not just my home at Yggdrasil, but also my life on Earth.

I don't know how I'll even balance that, and I may never be able to after the level of powers I will grow…

But I want to go back. I want to meet my sister and my mother…

I want to see them, or at the very least, know that they passed away.

So for that reason…

I grasped the Memory Fragment, as its power was fully absorbed.

I saw a sea of memories, laughter, cries, smiles, and frowns, of all my lives, unifying together into a swirling galaxy of emotions and experiences.

All of this galaxy was me, my soul, my mind, my everything.

The Council of Outer Beings…

I wonder if Ginnungagap is part of them.

Then… the Heavenly Father, the creator of the tower and its master, and the father of Michael, the Archangel who became my Personal System.

And the Justice's Brightest Light, the bastard who betrayed Michael for doubting his father's decisions, Archangel Gabriel.

The greatest beings of this universe, or at least of the universe I know.

They're gazing upon me, waiting for my answer.

But why is it that important to them?

What I ascend into now… will it decide the fate of everything?

"Michael, I know you're there… come to my side, please."

"You've been watching this the entire time. There's a reason why I could access the System, right?"

FLASH!

And there he was. His blindingly white figure emerged, spreading out his feathered wings.

A beautiful man made of white light, with long golden hair made of ethereal strands of brilliance.

His glowing eyes looked at me with pity and… compassion.

But also with fear.

"Maria…"

He wasn't acting cocky or annoying anymore, nor rude either.

"Do you know what's about to happen, right?"

"I do… I'll ascend to a level that'll make me the center of attention of all of these."

"It seems that my brother has been actively trying to kill us… Could it be that he manipulated your entire death as Maria? Or perhaps… even your death on Earth."

"Why, though?"

"We don't know, and I doubt he'll answer that question… but after I saw your memories and saw who you truly were… I also understood that, despite how ordinary you were, you were also very special."

"Was I? Really?"

I giggled a little. He was really acting out of character right now.

But I liked that.

"Yeah, your life… what you faced, both your trials and your happy moments… it made me reconsider some things. It made me… rethink a few others."

"Huh…"

"Maria… if you move forward, things will change… the Council of Outer Gods have an agenda, and I am fairly sure they want to use you to accomplish it."

"I know."

"You knew this entire time and…"

"What did you expect me to do? To reject their help and die? I didn't have any other options."

"True…"

He closed his eyes for a moment and then faced the giant swirling vortex of memories and blinding light of many colors.

Rapidly, darkness and shadows started spreading everywhere, as the powers I was developing continued to evolve and rapidly ascend to a whole new level.

The Darkness of Nightmares I was absorbing, and the power they contained, was now becoming part of myself.

To end this Nightmare once and for all, I had to also become one myself… no, I had to become the Ultimate Nightmare to devour all others.

"Once you ascend to the next level… my brother and my father may come after you. They probably already were, controlling things, manipulating fate itself," Michael said. "Do you truly intend to fight them? I know you very well now, Maria. You will not be satisfied with just this, nor with getting back Yggdrasil either, or going back to Earth… You'll want to get to the root of everything."

"Yeah, I will," I nodded. "I had made up my mind a while ago, when I saw your memories and learned who was the true enemy behind everything… And now that we're learning that bastard could have been the one who manipulated fate to somehow kill me not just once, but TWICE? Yeah, fuck him. We're going to kill him, Michael. I hope you're okay with me killing your brother."
