Chapter 1272: Sofia VS Martina

Chapter 1272: Sofia VS Martina

The moment Martina glanced at Sofia, she instantly decided to try to ruin her life, insulting her and talking to her as if she hated her all her life.

It was merely just a lot of jealously from her part, and Sofia knew it. She didn't feel bad when she received these empty insults, she only kind of feel a bit sad for her.

For Martina...

Maybe before, she would have taken the bait and bashed angrily at the girl, but right now she had gained a slightly calmer and stronger mind after everything that happened.

"I thought you were an amazing student, but I guess I was wrong! You're just like a sad little puppy..." Martina shrugged. "You're the disappointment of this academy... and maybe of your family too?"

Sofia would have probably reacted very angrily if someone dared to talk about her family in such a way, even when they knew nothing about it but...

She didn't seem that affected now.

"Hm, yeah maybe," Sofia didn't play with her, her patience had developed a lot. "Say whatever you want.

"Hey! What with that attitude?! You're not going to win anyways, so why don't you cry a bit more to make it fun?!" Martina angrily said. "Hah, oh well, with my poison I'll make sure to make you cry! And then we'll finally see your true face!"

Her star-shaped pupils shone brightly as she obsessively thought about what torture methods she would use on poor Sofia.

"..." Sofia remained in silence, thinking about what to do to fight someone like her. "She uses Poison and Illusions, huh? My Automaton used to be immune to Poison, but now that I don't have him, she might not be the best match for me."

"Wow, what a bitch..." Maria thought, looking from afar. "Come on Sofia... I know you can do it."

After having seen what her Mechanical Heart was truly capable of doing, Maria had some confidence in Sofia.

As long as she played her cards well and used a mix of her own Magic Spells plus her Mechanical Heart's ability, she had a chance of winning.

However, without friends to use her Mechanical Heart's full power, it could be said Sofia became weaker than before, without her Automata's aid.

"Let's see what you can do now, Sofia! Show me that automata! {Poisonous Mirage Clouds}!" FLUOSH!

Martina laughed, as the battle began with her releasing a purple and pink colored cloud of smoke. A combination of illusions and poison, which she quickly spread through the entire stage.

"Ugh?!"

Sofia quickly covered her mouth so she wouldn't inhale the poison, but she was already affected by it, feeling slightly poisoned, slower and with a strange, burning sensation in her lungs.

"This is annoying..." she thought. "However, with this Spell Emeraldine taught me..."

She quickly touched her chest, releasing a wave of light. This was "Healing Light Veil" a spell Emeraldine taught Sofia by Maria's request.

It allowed her to spread a veil of healing light around her body, healing her over time and instantly healing any status effect that was weaker than her own magic power.

And it worked!

"Phew, much better..."

"{Holy Metal Shields}"

Sofia then gathered her Aura of Light and Metal around her body, quickly forming plates of holy metal that floated around her.

"Starting with defensive and healing spells? This is definitely not like you, Sofia! Where's your automata at?! I want to crush it!"

She heard Martina's voice behind her, as Sofia quickly thrusted her spear towards her direction, only to end up hitting nothing.

"Hahaha! What's wrong? Confused?"

"Are you perhaps a bit scared?"

"Don't worry, I'm here for you!"

"You'll never be lonely!"

"Hahaha!"

Sofia looked everywhere in disbelief; she could hear Martina's annoying voice from every single direction. She didn't know where to attack.

"Is she trying to wear me down with her poison or is she aiming for something else entirely?" Sofia wondered. "She is most likely using her illusions to spread her voice around and then bait me into attacking. It's obvious she's far away... what's even her Dream Weapon though?"

Sofia wasn't dumb, not at all, she immediately began thinking of many possibilities and constantly predicted her foe's choices based in the personality they had shown, their abilities, and how they attacked her at first.

CLAAASH!

And then, out of nowhere, an attack from her left, a huge mechanical hand hit one of her shields which responded in time, sending it flying away.

"Ah!"

And amidst the smoke, she saw it, a large jester-shaped puppet as big as two-meter man.

"Gyehehe!"

FLUOSH!

However, before she could hit it, the jester puppet instantly disappeared into the smoke. "That's her Dream Weapon, some sort of jester thing?!"

Sofia gritted her teeth as she quickly concentrated, closing her eyes as they were useless in this environment and sharpening her senses.

"By infusing Dream Essence into my head and creating a Magic Aura, I can enhance the range of my senses..."

Senses such as Hearing, Smell, and Touch in specific.

FLASH!

As she expanded her senses, and continued doing so, she realized Martina wasn't even

standing in the floor.

"She's not within the floor, she's...!"

She opened her eyes, looking above her to find Martina rushing down with her legs down, at

the same time as her Jester puppet.

"Gotchaaaa!"

With a cocky smile, the girl kicked Sofia's face with all her force, throwing her away.

ВАААМ!

"Uugh!"

Sofia was unable to defend in time, being kicked in the face hurt like hell too, she felt her nose

had been dislocated.

She rolled over the floor, feeling disoriented.

"Hahaha! I can't believe it! I really kicked Lady Sofia's pretty faceeee!" laughed Martina, smiling viciously. "Holy shit that felt good... Did you enjoy it bitch?"

"W-What's your problem..." muttered Sofia.

"Hah?!" Martina raised an eyebrow.

"This is not normal! Why do you hate me so much? This is literally the first time I ever talk to you," Sofia slowly stood up, her veil of healing light slowly healing her face, though the pain

remained.

"Hahaha! Oh? Is that so?" Martina smiled. "Pfff... I guess you don't remember then... Yeah, I've changed quite a lot since then... From two years ago."

Suddenly, the clouds changed form, revealing someone, the face of Martina two years ago.

Instead of her current appearance, she looked meek, timid, with long black hair made into

braids, and she was wearing glasses.

"E-Eh?!"
