Chapter 1250: Moving To The New House
Chapter 1250: Moving To The New House
We were making our way to "my" house as we moved through the emptier streets around the academy. There were a lot of tightly packed residential areas where not many people passed.
So we thought it was a nice opportunity to talk a lot about everything, while also hoping for Jonathan and Emeraldine to be alright in "their" houses.
Beatriz was getting more and more cocky as we spoke, we were all curious about her family, but she knew so little, and despite that she loved her father for some reason, saying he'll kill us once we met him.
"I doubt we're as weak as to die to your father," I said. "But sure, I would also like to meet him, a pity we can't... Well, once he's dead I hope you can stick around with us, Beatriz."
She had made a contract with me, so I'll probably bring her out of this world and to explore many more. I hope that by then her perspective of life might change and she'll become a better person... demon... nightmare.
"Papa's super strong he is not going to die to the likes of you!" Beatriz complained. "He's the King of the Nightmare Demons for a reason...! Y-You'll see!"
She was so prideful about him, but it felt strangely disconnected, she called him "papa" but I could feel little to not affection in her words. It was as if she was simply flaunting at a fighter she liked rather than her own family member.
"I wonder though, have you even interacted with him like children and parents actually do?" asked Nia. "Nightmare Demon relationships might be different... right?"
And Nia right here hit right in the blank, leaving Beatriz almost speechless after her words of wisdom.
"A-Ah..." Beatriz fell silent. "I have only talked to him briefly a couple of times through my life..."
"Really?! And you're loving him for that?" asked Partner, popping out of my shadows. "You're insane or something?"
"I-I... of course I love him he's my dad!" said Beatriz. "So I... uhh..."
"She really hasn't met him all that much, huh?" Nia sighed. "I'm sorry to hear that..."
"D-Don't pity me! I am a terrifying Nightmare Demon! And I'm tired of talking about these things anyways! I already told you everything you wanted to know right?! So I'm on my way!"
She quickly entered my Shadow Realm again, leaving us a bit awkwardly glancing at one another.
"I felt a bit bad for her," said Nyx. "Beatriz has never known what's having a family! She is mean but maybe she could improve and become a good girl eventually... right Celes?"
"Yeah!" Celes nodded. "I think everyone has some good in their hearts!"
"Definitely not a Nightmare, Celes, they're practically made out humanity's negative emotions," explained Partner. "They're evil and malicious by nature. Beatriz only acts like this because she had been made to submit before Maria's almighty power."
"B-But... even the Nightmares can change and become good... right?" he wondered. "After all from what auntie said... She saw how the Nightmares that were like Sofia's parents... t-they turned good after she had a talk with them!"
"Oh... I had forgotten about that," Partner said. "But that must have been some kind of error, right? There's no way those horrendous things called Nightmares would... just suddenly turn good? It sounds unrealistic and strange to be honest."
"We can't really say for sure," I said. "But what I saw with my two eyes was the truth and was a fact... Those two Nightmares wanted to fulfill Sofia's dreams and desires, so they wanted her to stay... but after Sofia finally realized what she truly wanted, and that she had to move on, they ended accepting her resolve and the darkness within them dissipated. They turned into light and disappeared."
"Huh..." Partner remained in silence. "Aargh! Why are the things in this world so corny and complicated? Feelings and emotions and dreams? It's all so baby compared to Yggdrasil!" "Hahaha! Yeah, but I think it's a nice place for us to also learn more about each other?" I asked. "Like, about our real dreams, our feelings, and more... Right Nia? Lucifer?" "Hmm... indeed, all of the recent events have made me rethink many things," said Lucifer. "I guess so..." Nia said. "Honestly, I had wondered what would happen if a Nightmare was born from my own heart... what shape would it take? I guess... maybe I have a lot of fears now that I think about it. I've gone through so much... Ah! W-Well, I'm not saying none of you had gone through lesser things. I know you've all had it rough as well..."
"Indeed," I said. "We don't know if the events of this world won't affect us or something... Well, do we even have Dream Hearts? Although our weapons became connected to our bodies, I don't feel all that different. Is there really a heart there?"
"For a while now I've felt something inside of my chest," said Nia.
"Me too!" said Celes.
"We might have not had them before but they're definitely developing now, and it's annoying," groaned Lucifer, showing me his chest which was glowing slightly pink.
"I have one as well!" Nyx said.
"Me too..." Partner added.
"Ah... Hm, things have become more complicated then," I said. "I thought we could easily go through things if we weren't affected by this world's main curse. But it seems it has already begun to affect everyone... But why I don't feel one then?"
I inspected my body and even my soul, but I couldn't find anything, the Dream Weapons I wield, however, go directly to my Origin Core instead.
"Could it be... is it because I can absorb Nightmares... am I considered a Nightmare in this world?" I wondered.
"Certainly... you do fulfill most of the requirements, if you let me be a bit harsh there," said Lucifer. "You were a ghost fueled with resentment, and then you've evolved even past that to become a being beyond the boundaries of worlds..."
"Mama's super strong!" said Nyx. "That's why she doesn't need Dream Heart!"
"Haha, maybe?" I giggled. "Hmm, ah, there it is."
We stood in front of a huge, old manor made of dark brown wood with a black ceiling.
From the windows, I noticed a girl glancing from across the curtains, before she closed them hurriedly to not be seen.
