Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 789 Immersive

Xi Minghui couldn't help but smirk mischievously.

He really did feel a bit sorry for Yu Hang now. Yu Hang had been capturing women's hearts since birth! Before he even started school, sisters, aunts, and grandmothers all enjoyed holding him, finding him particularly adorable. After starting elementary school, from the snotty-nosed toddlers to the lunch ladies, he captured them all.

As a child playing house, there were countless girls fighting over being his little bride.

But now, he had finally met someone who truly didn't pay him any attention!

Yu Hang followed her around eagerly every day, while Chiang Xiao treated everything as if it were strictly business, not even letting him encroach on her desk space, let alone touch her.

She didn't even want to have him stay for a meal today.

Yu Hang fell silent for a moment, then looked at Chiang Xiao, "Stingy."

"Yes, that stingy. Once you're done looking, hurry up and figure out how to send it back," Chiang Xiao said. "Let me make it clear, if this painting goes missing, you'll compensate us for the agreed price."

She had, of course, given a lot of thought to this painting; that's why it took ten days.

Chiang Songhai and Ge Liutao, seeing that Chiang Xiao didn't seem to have the enthusiasm for Yu Hang they had imagined, both secretly sighed in relief and walked away, leaving the living room to them.

Yu Hang and Xi Minghui were slowly unrolling the painting.

Just as the scroll was unfurled, they felt a mist hit their faces with the wind, bringing a refreshing coolness.

The two were stunned at the same time.

"Where did this mist come from?" Xi Minghui asked dumbly, his first instinct being to quickly roll up the painting to prevent it from getting wet.

But Yu Hang had already discovered the secret. His heart skipped a beat, and he stared at the painting in disbelief.

Chiang Xiao had painted a continuous range of green mountains; among the nearby peaks, there was a waterfall cascading down.

There were sunbeams shining down, and it seemed as if the wind was blowing a mist of water. They were standing directly opposite the painting, in the path of the wind, hence the mist was drifting onto their faces.

But how could there be such an incredibly realistic sensation?

"Oh my God!" Xi Minghui, belatedly realizing what was happening, jumped back in shock and looked up at Chiang Xiao with astonishment.

Chiang Xiao's expression remained normal, as if their reaction was exaggerated.

"Wha-what's going on here?" Xi Minghui sputtered, so startled he was stuttering.

The landscape in the painting was beautiful, with majestic mountains and rivers, and a wide view that included both distant and nearby scenes—all picturesque. But nothing could compare to the real sensation brought on by the waterfall in front of them—it was utterly astonishing.

The painting lay spread out on the sofa, and as they stood there looking, they could faintly hear the sound of water cascading down the waterfall.

Moreover, after looking at it a bit longer, they could even see a small rainbow formed by water mist under the sunlight.

It gave them a feeling of liberation and bliss.

The longer they looked, the more real it became.

Xi Minghui couldn't control himself and reached out to touch the waterfall, convinced that before he even touched the paper, his hand would be wet.

But it wasn't—he touched just the paper.

"Yu Hang, Yu Hang, tell me, you feel the same, don't you!" Xi Minghui couldn't help exclaiming.

Although he didn't specify what the sensation was, Yu Hang understood.

He was equally astonished and couldn't find the words to speak, merely nodding vigorously.

"Can painting really reach this realm?" Xi Minghui was so excited his face turned red.

Yu Hang nodded again.

Of course, it was possible—they were seeing it with their own eyes, weren't they?

But how was this achieved?

Artistic conception?

A painting that makes one feel as if they're in the scene?

Had Chiang Xiao's painting skill really reached this level?
