Chapter 415 Doing Foolish Things
"Being the boss…" Sun Chan listened, feeling a bit dazed, with a look of disbelief.
Han Dong said seriously, "Our clothes are now mass-produced, but there are boutiques in the south now. They sell those very good-looking clothes, with only one piece of each style. I'm planning to have you do it, aren't you good at designing?"
Sun Chan quickly nodded. She had seen that before, during the New Year when she went to Shenzhen. She was really envious when she saw the store's decoration. The clothes were incredibly beautiful! And the store was very luxurious. To think she was going to get one herself?
"Of course, if you branch out your brand, the franchise fee is mine. I can't let you get benefits for nothing. If I did, wouldn't I suffer? Also, if there are more franchise stores under this brand, the revenues should go to my main factory. How's that?"
Sun Chan laughed and said, "You're planning to make your business big and strong."
"Exactly." He said seriously, "I not only want to create such luxury fashion but also want to have exclusive sports brand stores. There are no sports brands in our north yet. We must act first, or it will be too late."
"I understand. I'll work hard!" Sun Chan was also very serious.
The details of how to open the store, the franchise fee, and how to split the accounts would wait until drafting the contract, but for now, the main focus was Sun Chan and Gu Junming's wedding.
"Consider this my wedding gift to you." Han Dong laughed, "If you develop well, my business can also grow. It's good for me too. You better work hard."
Sun Chan was extremely happy, nodding non-stop. She couldn't have dreamt that Han Dong would give such a gift himself; she was moved and found it hard to believe.
As Sun Chan was leaving, Han Dong suddenly laughed and said, "Why don't you ask me when I'm getting married?"
"Eh?" Sun Chan stopped and turned to look at him.
Han Dong said, "I have a lot of people around me urging me, afraid I'll end up single."
Sun Chan laughed, "It's not that you don't want to find someone. But there's no need to rush; a man's ambitions are vast. Who knows where you'll be in the future, and now you're right at the moment of progressing in your career. No need to hurry."
Han Dong laughed heartily, "I didn't expect you to understand me so well. There's no second person who can understand my thoughts."
Han Dong was traveling from east to west, seeing more and naturally not confined to the usual ideas of getting married, having kids, and settling down. It was not in his plans right now. He was thinking more about developing business, aiming to expand it to Beijing or Shenzhen; that would be great.
But every time he shared his plans with his parents, they would relentlessly discourage him, as if his mind was ill, not normal.
His mother once said, "Don't get cocky! Isn't settling down and getting married a good thing? It's not like the family doesn't have money for you to spend. In a few years, you'll be thirty, and all the good girls will be taken! What if it's too late for you to have a son?"
His father also wished Han Dong would quietly stay at home. They had lived through those movements, and their only hope was for their son to live a stable and peaceful life. But Han Dong clearly disappointed them.
"We haven't known each other for a long time, but I understand your thoughts. However, I think relationships depend on fate; you never know when you'll just fall for someone." Sun Chan said with a smile.
"True." Han Dong said to Sun Chan, "Sooner or later, I will meet a wonderful girl, really like her, and she will like me very much."
Sun Chan smiled and nodded, agreeing with his words.
After she said goodbye, Han Dong picked up the invitation, took a look at it, then sank entirely into the chair, covering his face with the invitation. Even though he understood everything, he couldn't help but feel a bit sad and depressed. The girl he liked, watching her grow little by little, becoming more beautiful and more confident, was finally marrying someone else.
Sun Chan didn't have many acquaintances in school, but Liu Enming was one of them. So she gave the invitation to him.
"Don't let others know, okay?" Although there were people from various ages in this vocational school, very few were getting married before graduation. It wouldn't be a big deal to wait two more years. But Sun Chan knew Gu Junming was quite old, and his family was urging him too much. It wasn't nice to keep him waiting, so she decided to marry quietly.
Liu Enming smiled and nodded, "Got it. Don't worry, I won't say anything. I've met your fiancé a few times; he's a nice guy."
"Yes, he's very down-to-earth, a really good person."
"Then, when I go, make sure the dishes taste good." Liu Enming laughed, "I'm quite a foodie."
Sun Chan quickly nodded, "You can mention what you want to eat first, and I'll arrange it with the restaurant."
"Great, I'll start fasting now."
The two laughed together.
Wu Qiong bit her lip, watching their interaction, feeling bad.
She was very jealous that Sun Chan could get along so well with Liu Enming, yet her every conversation with Liu Enming ended unpleasantly. He was gentle and didn't directly hurt her pride, but every rejection made her unhappy.
A girl beside her noticed her odd expression and said, "What are Sun Chan and him talking about? She already has a fiancé yet still chats with other guys. Really thick-skinned."
Another chimed in, "Exactly! Really can't judge a book by its cover; she seems honest, but who knew she'd be like this!"
"Stop it." Wu Qiong said coldly, "It's because she's capable. Go and talk to Liu Enming and see if he'll pay attention to you." She sat back in her seat.
The others looked at each other and also sat down.
At the end of class, Sun Chan quickly rushed out to buy things.
Wu Qiong blocked Liu Enming on the playground, "I need to talk to you."
"What's up?" Liu Enming had a smile on his face but it was a bit cold.
"My dad said your uncle has been transferred back. He hopes to treat your uncle to a meal, is that okay?"
Liu Enming frowned, "Is it appropriate to ask me about this?"
Wu Qiong was stunned, unable to speak, not knowing what to say. Liu Enming's uncle was newly transferred here, being the second in command in this city, a very powerful official. Wu Dafu mentioned it over dinner last night, saying it'd be great if they could connect with his uncle.
"My uncle and I aren't from the same family. Asking me is useless. Also, Wu Qiong, we're just classmates. I don't want to hear any rumors in class. It benefits no one. So if there's nothing else, let's stop talking." He said and walked away.
