Rebirth: Pampered by the Lord

Chapter 1447: Bootlicker

"As long as Third Sister likes it. Try this, you won't get to eat it at the General's Mansion." Saying this, Xuexue picked several pieces of pastry for her with chopsticks.

The food at the War Prince's Mansion was exquisitely crafted. Even small snacks like these couldn't be found elsewhere.

"Thank you, Elder Sister." Although she was dying of jealousy inside, Situ Dieer put on a sweet and gentle demeanor.

"Hmm."

After the meal, as the maids just collected the dishes and chopsticks, Lady Li arrived with a few maids.

"Oh my! Elder Sister! I had such a hard time finding you." Lady Li proclaimed loudly as soon as she entered.

"Sister, what do you want to see me about?"

"Hehehe...!" Madam's voice was sharp and laughable, quite unpleasant to the ears.

All the maids present lowered their heads further and further, trying to suppress their laughter for fear that Lady Li would see and reprimand them.

This Lady Li was really bootlicking. Just to curry favor with Madam Situ, she, though older by a few years, called Madam Situ her elder sister. Her face was shamelessly thick.

"It's nothing, just embroidered a picture, wanted Sister to have a look to see if it's presentable. If it is, I'll give it to the Prince as a birthday gift." Lady Li spoke with a shy expression.

Now that the little cheap person of the Princess Consort was kicked out of the War Prince's Mansion, the only one left to compete with her for the Prince was Madam Situ.

Xuexue: "Oh, what picture is it?"

Lady Li gestured to the maid behind her, who immediately presented a picture, laying it out on the table for everyone to see.

After Xuexue and Situ Dieer glanced at it, they were left speechless.

On the white fabric, two unidentifiable creatures were embroidered.

Lady Li, completely unaware of her folly, asked excitedly, "Sister, Sister, do you think I embroidered well?"

Xuexue glanced at Situ Dieer and said, "In terms of embroidery, Third Sister is an expert. Better to ask her, Sister."

Wisely, she passed the difficult task to Situ Dieer.

In her last life, she was harmed by Situ Dieer's schemes. In this life, she wanted her to experience what it was like to be hurt by others.

Hearing this, Situ Dieer couldn't help but curse Xuexue inwardly, calling her a cunning little cheap person.

Indeed, if she directly told Lady Li that she had no idea what the embroidery was, she'd definitely offend Lady Li. Damn it, creating an unnecessary enemy for herself was rather frustrating.

If she lied against her conscience, saying it was beautifully embroidered.

Lady Li, delighted, would surely ask her, what exactly did I embroider?

This unrecognizable thing, how was she supposed to know what it is? Thus, no matter what she said, she was doomed to offend someone.

But under the watchful eyes of all, with Xuexue tossing the problem her way, she had no choice but to pretend to study the picture, casually asking, "Lady Li, what did you embroider?"

Lady Li, with a look of surprise, said, "Can't you tell? It's a mandarin duck!"

Everyone present nearly fainted.

After staring for so long, it turned out to be a mandarin duck!

They initially thought it was a teal, but upon further inspection, it didn't resemble one. Another look made it seem a bit like Birdy, but a closer look revealed it didn't, either. Perhaps a chicken, but even then, it was always halfway there but not quite.

Clearly, after all this time, it was a mandarin duck. Lady Li was truly talented, to embroider a pair of mandarin ducks into an unrecognizable mess.

Lady Li, without an inkling of her blunder, still excitedly asked, "How is it, it's my first time embroidering, not too bad, right?"
