Rebirth of the Celestial Miracle Doctor

Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Seeing a Ghost

By this point in the conversation, Qingcheng wanted to ask more, but couldn't continue any further.

After a moment, she nodded and said, "I believe you."

"That's right," he responded, "After all, we're husband and wife. Even if I were the most wanted criminal in the world, I wouldn't harm you."

Qingcheng looked at Yun Mu, who had started to joke around again, and seriously said, "Yun Mu, I really do thank you for stepping in today, but I still need to remind you, these are troubled times. The Shen family in Ji'an has been a well-established family for decades, so be careful from now on."

Yun Mu nodded solemnly; however, inside he was calculating that once his strength was restored, not just the Shen family, but even those influential families in the capital would be as easy to deal with as playing a game.

"Qingcheng, can I go back to my office now?"

"Get going then."

Qingcheng's tone was dissatisfied—so many young talents wished to strike up a conversation with her but couldn't find an opening, and yet this guy wanted to leave early. Had her charm somehow diminished?

Yun Mu wanted to leave simply to avoid disturbing her work. If he knew what his wife was thinking, he probably wouldn't go anywhere but sit there and stare at her instead. After all, admiring a beautiful woman was also a kind of enjoyment.

Back in his office, Yun Mu had just sat down when Wen Jia, having just sent off some security guards, returned and stared at him.

Yun Mu returned the gaze without showing weakness.

Damn it, stare all you want—who's afraid of whom? Just try and face these big buns of yours.

"Brother, don't you think you owe your sister an explanation?" Wen Jia asked.

It made sense for his wife to ask for an explanation, and it seemed he owed one to his sister as well.

Yun Mu scratched his head, "Sister, what do you want me to explain?" He really wasn't feigning ignorance this time.

"Explain?" Wen Jia seemed to fall into thought before saying, "There are too many things you need to explain, just spill all your secrets."

"Damn!" Yun Mu stumbled, these two best friends must have been cut from the same cloth, both having the same attitude.

Yun Mu straightened up and said to Wen Jia, "Jiajia sister, come here, look into my eyes."

Unsure of what he was up to, Wen Jia moved closer and looked into Yun Mu's eyes. She had just run back from the hospital, causing her to be a bit flustered, with one button at her neckline undone, allowing Yun Mu to clearly see her bra edged with pink lace—a truly beautiful sight.

Seeing no reaction from Yun Mu, Wen Jia looked down and saw him staring intently at her chest, almost drooling.

Her face turned red, and she glared at Yun Mu, "Brother, you're so naughty."

Shoot, Yun Mu nearly fell off his chair. Damn it, was Jiajia sister trying to seduce him with that soft whisper that tickled his heart?

"Little Jia sister, don't mind what happened just now, look at my eyes," Yun Mu said with a serious expression.

Although Wen Jia didn't understand what Yun Mu was trying to do, she obediently looked into his eyes.

"Jiajia sister, eyes are the windows to the soul. Looking into my eyes, do you think I'm a bad person?"

"Of course not," Wen Jia flatly refused the idea.

Yun Mu shifted his gaze away, stood up, and said as he looked at Wen Jia's pretty face, "Jiajia sister, you are my sworn sister and you treat me so well. I really shouldn't keep secrets from you, but there are many things I can't tell you right now. But I can promise you that once the time is right, I'll tell you everything."

Wen Jia listened to Yun Mu's explanation, but despite all the talking, she felt like she ended up knowing nothing. Yet, seeing his earnest face, she would seem petty if she continued to press him. He really was a sly one.

Yun Mu could see the embarrassment in Wen Jia's eyes. She indeed was a fun girl, becoming completely confused after a few rounds of his talk.

After having his fill of the view beneath Jiajia sister's button, Yun Mu stretched his legs and walked back to his desk, "Jiajia sister, do you have anything else you want to ask?"

Wen Jia knew asking anything more would be pointless as this crafty brother of hers would not spill any beans. She might as well fasten the button on her chest, straighten her wrinkled shirt, and sit back at her desk to organize her papers.

Yun Mu smiled slightly, picked up a cup of water from the table, and took a sip.

Mingchen Pharmaceutical's building was truly magnificent, not only tall but also located in the heart of the Central Business District, commanding a broad view of the scenery near and far.

It was clear that Yun Mu's wife was not only stunningly beautiful but also quite wealthy.

Yun Mu felt incredibly happy in his heart since he wouldn't have to worry about food and drink in the future.

Though he was the legitimate heir of the Yun Family in the Capital City, he was quite disliked, to the extent that even the Husky raised in the yard was treated with higher regard than himself.

Talking about money was even more upsetting, as the allowance he received from the family each month was barely on par with that of a servant.

What, rely on his worthless father? That wastrel hadn't given him a dime before disappearing, let alone after.

As soon as his father went missing, the Yun Family quickly made their vicious move. Had it not been for his great luck and life, he wouldn't have been enjoying his current blessed state.

The more Yun Mu thought about it, the angrier he became. Everyone said blood was thicker than water, yet he was greeted with such treatment.

Once he secured his standing with his wife, he vowed to return to the Yun Family and deal with that bunch of dear relatives. Yun Mu would certainly not let go of those who tried to kill him.

Unwittingly, a full cup of distilled water was drunk to the last drop, but Yun Mu still felt unquenched.

Earthlings were such a hassle, sweating so much with a little activity and having to hydrate frequently. Yun Mu thought this with disdain as he walked over to the water dispenser by the window, bending down to fill another cup.

But a sneaky black business car caught his attention.

What the hell, that driver hadn't gotten his license yet, right? Why was he driving the car like a snake?

"Jiajia sis, you keep up the good work here. I'll be right back." Putting down the water cup, Yun Mu said.

Wen Jia appeared to be focused on sorting the files, but in truth, she was secretly guessing the real identity of this brother.

No wonder Qingcheng talked about remaining a single noble every day, then turned around and brought home a young husband – it turned out to be because of this guy's all-round competence.

Not only handsome, but his Kung Fu skills were also solid. He talked reason with his mouth, but his heart plotted every step on how to make those looking for trouble die even more miserably. He was simply boyfriend power MAX.

With such a close male secretary, she'd be willing to work overtime every day.

However, Wen Jia, with a thief in her heart, was truly startled by Yun Mu's sudden shout.

"Oh, oh, oh, sure, sure, sure." Wen Jia's dainty little face turned red, and she stuttered.

Yun Mu, hearing Wen Jia's approval, turned and headed for the door.

"Bro, is that kid inside?" asked the driver inside the black business car, his hands holding the steering wheel already sweaty with nervousness.

"Yes, Big Fei said he's in here," a boss-like figure in the back seat said irritably.

Along the way, his little brother had been acting strangely, shaking as he drove, almost grazing the rearview mirror of another car when passing.

This boss-like figure was a trusted underling of Big Fei. Muscular and brawny, his skin was dark, claiming to have some African ancestry. Everyone called him Black brother.

What Black brother didn't know was that the little brother he brought out today was the very person who had been involved in dealing with Yun Mu on Bald Mountain the previous night.

Until now, the little brother was still shaken, and then early in the morning, he got a call from Black brother to go recognize someone.

When they arrived near the destination, Black brother only then took out the photo of the kid. This look nearly made the little brother lose grip on the steering wheel.

"Damn it, cut the crap, will you? Hurry up; Big Fei is waiting for news!" Black brother kicked the back of the driver's seat harshly, urging him.

"Yes, Black brother." The little brother had no choice but to turn off the car and get out.

"Remember, ask at the company's reception if Yun Mu is there. If he is, find out which department he's in. It's best if you see him in person," said Black brother lazily from the back seat.

As if it was so easy to just find a living person! If you could really see a living person, that would be a real shock!

Recalling the scene from last night, the little brother felt afraid, even feeling chills rushing down his spine.

Wait, that's not right, how could there be a chill on such a hot, dry day?

The little brother looked back and his face went pale. Out of nowhere, a person had suddenly appeared before his eyes. That gust of wind might have been caused by this person running over.
