Rebirth: My Dear Little Wife Is So Scheming

Chapter 1169: Anonymous Call

The next day Bai Song sold the house to a family from the same village.

The family had five sons! All they lacked was a house.

Bai Song, Bai Xiao, and Bai Yue bought train tickets and took the old lady to the Capital City.

Because Bai Yue was not comfortable with Bai Song being alone, she naturally sent them to the Capital City! After seeing Bai Song's two-bedroom apartment tidily arranged and furnished with all the necessary appliances, she finally felt at ease.

Watching Bai Song busy by himself, Bai Yue thought that when she returned, she really needed to start arranging things for Bai Song. At his age, not having a wife might raise doubts about whether there was something wrong with Bai Song.

Now Bai Song's family situation was different. Having lived outside for many years, Bai Song's perspective and experiences had changed, and Bai Yue didn't want to find a rural girl for her brother.

It wasn't that she looked down on rural people, but rural girls often had limited educational backgrounds and narrow views, constantly gossiping with relatives, and if they encounter unreasonable in-laws, it would cause Bai Song to suffer.

Bai Song, being a police station chief now, should find a well-educated girl to live a good life.

Bai Yue returned home.

Bai Song also started to settle into his routine, going to work each day and returning to care for his grandmother.

Li Chunhua recovered quickly, probably because Bai Song was there to accompany her! Her mood improved, and she recovered quickly, lively and able to go to the nearby park to chat and exercise with other elderly people. Bai Song felt relieved seeing her so lively.

Bai Yue received a mysterious phone call, and the atmosphere in the Bai Family turned serious.

Looking back, Bai Yue still felt frightened.

Early in the morning, Bai Yue arrived at the office, where her secretary had meticulously cleaned it. She took off her coat and was hanging it when she heard the phone ring.

This phone number was only known by important people; it didn't go through her secretary.

Bai Yue glanced at the phone; the caller ID showed a number she didn't recognize.

She picked up the phone and gestured to her secretary, who smiled and closed the door for her.

The office fell silent.

"Are you Bai Yue? I have something to tell you."

The unfamiliar male voice made Bai Yue cautious. Having run businesses for years, she understood different things; although they had never experienced a kidnapping, stories from other bosses often grew larger than life.

This voice was very thought-provoking.

"Who are you? How did you get my phone number?"

"You don't need to know who I am. I'm calling to warn you; you have offended someone you shouldn't have. Someone has taken an interest in your children and your sister's children. That's all I can say. Be careful!"

"Wait, don't hang up, don't hang up. No matter who you are, I have to thank you for telling me this. You're a good person! If you ever need help, come to me; Bai Yue keeps her word. I owe you a favor."

Bai Yue sensed the caller was about to hang up. Her words were rushed, indicating Bai Yue realized the man was not simple. Regardless of the truth, this person was an insider; Bai Yue was willing to show sincerity.

If he informed her now, he might also alert her if something really happened.

The other end of the line was quiet for a moment, and had it not been for the faint sound of breathing, Bai Yue would have thought the caller had hung up.

"Good!"

The phone clicked, ending the call.

Bai Yue calmed herself, taking a deep breath.

It was too sudden. The call mentioned not only her own child was in danger but also her sister's children. The only sister with children was Bai Ju; Bai Xiao had none yet. Who would target the children?

Bai Yue didn't need to think much; their only mutual enemy was Wang Ruo'an and Shang Kaiwen. Bai Ju's business had no overlap with hers, yet this enemy was going to target both their children! It could only be someone they knew.

She picked up the phone and called Bai Ju.

Bai Ju was attending a conference in Modu. They were hosting a food expo, featuring their latest product to expand into international markets. The product's popularity gave Bai Ju confidence.

She was sitting in a café with Bai Xiao, talking.

It had been years since Bai Ju saw her sister; Bai Ju marveled at how Bai Xiao had grown more beautiful, with a notably memorable charm, feeling gratified that the family was doing well, and Bai Ju was delighted.

The sisters had endless things to talk about.

Amidst their joyous conversation, Bai Ju heard her phone ring.

To facilitate business, she had bought a phone—not as large as a brick but still not small; the cell phone industry wasn't so refined yet.

Glancing at it, Bai Ju laughed.

"It's elder sister; what a magical connection!"

She answered, "Elder sister! Guess who I'm with now?"

Her cheerful expression turned serious, "What do you mean? Impossible, all three kids are in college now, at school."

Bai Xiao glanced at her second sister.

Something was off!

"Alright, I'll make the calls right away."

Hanging up, Bai Ju's fingers trembled; Bai Xiao held Bai Ju's hand, sensing something was wrong.

"Second sister, what's wrong?"

"Elder sister just said someone called her, saying someone wants to harm the kids. I need to call them immediately; they're all in school. My eldest is abroad, and the second and third are in Qing Province and Lian City respectively. If I don't inform them and something happens, what will I do!"

Bai Xiao let go, her first thought was Shang Kaiwen.

She didn't have many enemies.

But accumulating foes over the years, there was only one.

Shang Kaiwen couldn't escape.

"Second sister, how are you? Mom, be careful these days, don't move around too much. Mom will send someone to protect you. Listen; you're the eldest, but someone wants to harm you now. You and your sister will be in danger, and I'm worried.

Yes! These days, don't wander off, stay with classmates! It'll have a deterrent effect; I think those people won't dare to openly catch people at school! They'll likely wait for you to be alone.

So, don't be careless!

Alright! I'll call your sister!"

"Third, listen to Mom; lately, don't be alone, stay at school with classmates. Why? Because someone intends to harm you. How do I know? Your aunt told me; she received an anonymous call, so be careful! Mom will send someone to protect you these days; remember never to be alone."

After hanging up, Bai Ju still felt anxious.
