"Alright, I need to talk to you about something."

"What's up?" The voice on the other end of the phone became serious.

"Sun Qiang, does the police station in X County fall under your jurisdiction?"

"Yes, I have some influence there."

"A human trafficker who was caught on a train was sent there half a month ago."

"Yes, I'm aware of this. How did you find out?"

"I want that person dead."

"Xiao Wei? Okay, I understand."

"Thank you." After Wei Kaiyun finished speaking, he hung up the phone.

Then he dialed Ding Mingqiang's number.

"Director Ding, I'm taking fifteen days off, you'll have to manage things during this period."

"Alright."

"Director Ding, make sure to keep an eye on the quality."

Once Wei Kaiyun finished delegating tasks, he started going over the accounts, waiting for Lu Weiqi to return.

At five-thirty, he went home, carrying five cartons of cigarettes, two cases of alcohol, and a big watermelon on his bike.

The two children heard the knocking at the door and guessed it was Dad coming home.

Shang Zhenkun came over to open the door. Wei Kaiyun looked at his two children with a big smile, "Dad bought you a watermelon."

Shang Zhenkun took the watermelon and cigarettes from the bike handle, then handed the cigarettes to Shi Jing to take inside.

He put a bucket of cold water and submerged the watermelon in it.

Wei Kaiyun also carried the alcohol from the backseat into the house. "Master Shang, I've brought cigarettes and alcohol, is it enough?"

"That's plenty." If it were up to me, I wouldn't bring anything at all; after all, our friendship is deep, there's no need for these. But Xiao Jiang suggested that giving some gifts is nice too.

Wei Kaiyun picked up Jiang Feifei, kissed her cheek, and then went to the kitchen.

"You two, don't come in, it's too hot inside; set up the table, we'll eat in the courtyard."

In the evening, everyone enjoyed the meat buns, biting into the juicy buns, along with the cucumber salad and millet porridge.

Jiang Xinyu was sweating all over, but she held out until dinner was finished, where the evening breeze felt especially nice, cooling her down after the meal.

After dinner, Wei Kaiyun and Shang Zhenkun took the two kids out for a stroll, leaving Jiang Xinyu alone at home.

She took a comfortable shower and sat in front of the fan.

Since she hadn't napped during the day, by the time the four of them returned at eight-thirty, Jiang Xinyu was already asleep.

Wei Kaiyun quietly instructed the two kids not to disturb their mother's sleep, then helped them bathe.

"Dad, I want to sleep by myself," Jiang Feifei hugged Wei Kaiyun's neck.

"Not yet, you'll have to wait until you're six years old."

The father and daughter lay beside Jiang Xinyu, with the fan blowing; before long, the little girl was asleep.

Wei Kaiyun looked at the two most important women in his life beside him, feeling a deep sense of happiness.

He had planned to indulge himself tonight, but seeing his sweetly sleeping wife, he couldn't bring himself to wake her.

He lay awake, gazing at his wife through the moonlight, restraining his impulses.

In the latter part of the night, it got a bit colder, so Wei Kaiyun got up to turn off the fan, which woke up Jiang Xinyu.

She smiled at Wei Kaiyun, then closed her eyes again.

He got back on the bed, covered his daughter with a towel blanket, and held his wife as he continued to sleep.

The next morning, Jiang Xinyu woke up at five. She quietly got up, and Wei Kaiyun immediately opened his eyes.

"Go back to sleep, I'll make breakfast."

At half past five, Jiang Feifei also woke up, silently getting up as well, but due to Wei Kaiyun's long-standing habit, he never sleeps too deeply, always remaining vigilant.

"Darling, you're awake?"

"Dad, did I wake you?"

"No, it's time for Dad to get up too."

They stepped outside, and Shang Zhenkun and Jiang Shijing came out as well.

The four of them brushed their teeth, washed their faces, and began practicing tai chi.

Wei Kaiyun watched them from the side, feeling very pleased; the two kids are shaping up nicely, and this proud father watches them with admiration.

In the morning, Jiang Xinyu made scallion pancakes and millet porridge.

After breakfast, Shang Zhenkun took the two children and the cigarettes and alcohol with him as he set off.

They wouldn't be coming home for lunch, leaving just the two of them at home.

This satisfied Wei Kaiyun greatly; the two of them couldn't manage to have lunch anyway.

"Alright, but I have something to discuss with you."

"What's up?" Although Wei Kaiyun asked, his hands and mouth didn't rest; his wife now has a superb figure, with skin so soft you can't get enough of it.

"I want to register the kids' residence in the Capital."

"Sure, let's take a couple of days off, then take the kids to the Capital for a few days."

"Will it have any repercussions? I heard the news, that person has been dismissed; will this affect you?"

"There's no reaction yet, but it will definitely have an impact; however, I'm just a small fry, won't attract much attention."

"As long as it doesn't affect you, it's fine. Tomorrow, buy the tickets, we'll head straight to the Capital."

"Wife, those things can wait, satisfy me first."

The two of them messed around until four in the afternoon, when Jiang Xinyu, under stern demand, made Wei Kaiyun get up reluctantly.

Jiang Xinyu thought he had so much energy, she might as well have him roll out the noodles, so dinner was cold noodles with minced meat and beans.

After finishing her meal, Jiang Xinyu put down her chopsticks, "Master Shang, I want to take the kids to the Capital. I plan to register their residence there."

"Alright, the four of you should go, I'll take all the luggage directly back to T City and wait for you."

Jiang Xinyu initially wanted to persuade him, but seeing Wei Kaiyun giving her a look, she agreed in the end.

The two children have heard of the Capital, and have seen pictures of Tiananmen Tower in the newspapers, but have never been there. Hearing their mom say they'll go there, made them excited.

Again, the two of them took the kids outside for digestion, and after Jiang Xinyu cleaned, she took a shower and went to sleep.

Tonight, Wei Kaiyun still hugged his wife to sleep; although nothing could happen, just holding her was enough.

The next day, Wei Kaiyun went to buy train tickets. It's quite easy to get sleeper tickets here, even a separate sleeper for the family, safe and convenient.

He also bought a sleeper ticket for Shang Zhenkun, though it wasn't on the same train.

At noon, the five of them had pancakes, cold noodles, braised eggplant, and vinegar-soaked potato shreds at home.

"My train is leaving tonight, I'll head back first and wait for you all."

Jiang Xinyu handed Shang Zhenkun the keys, not wanting others to know she was back, so she couldn't call someone for help.

In the middle of the night, Wei Kaiyun carried Shi Jing over to see off Shang Zhenkun, taking one of the two electric fans.

By the time they saw Shang Zhenkun off, it was already bright, so Wei Kaiyun made a special trip home, took a basin to buy fried dough sticks, tofu pudding, millet porridge, and buns.

The two kids enjoyed breakfast with the fried dough sticks, and they liked the tofu pudding as well.

Wei Kaiyun watched the kids eat happily, "Once we reach the Capital, Dad will take you both to have some treats."
