Ch. 96
Fierce Battle
"Gargoyle!"
Serea shouted loudly, tightly gripping a clump of blood in her hand—the source of her power: Blood Spring!
But right now, the amount of Blood Spring she had was too little—just a single blood crystal to activate it.
This bit of Blood Spring was nowhere near enough, and there were no living beings nearby from whom she could absorb fresh blood.
So, Serea had to painfully melt down a large number of blood crystals to supplement her Blood Spring.
The Power of Blood, get!
With enough Blood Spring as fuel, the summoning finally succeeded.
There was a thunderous roar in the sky—a circular, blood-red compound magic circle took shape. The blood drop at the center of the circle was so eerie and strange.
"No one can stop Eiklo's advance!"
The Skeleton Abomination was about to swing its butcher's blade—this blow was destined to deal massive damage to Serea's line. But just then...
"Clark's here!"
A massive meteor came crashing down, landing directly on Eiklo's body.
Its mountain-sized form was smashed, sending shards of bone flying everywhere, dealing significant damage.
"What the hell is that thing?!"
Seeing the enormous meteor, Addis was completely dumbfounded. But then, the meteor moved!
Massive wings unfurled, then came thick, powerful limbs, and finally, a stone spear was gripped in Clark's hand.
"Taste my big guy!"
As Blood Spring flowed into the red gem on Clark's forehead, it was powered up, and the magic array inside Clark burst into dazzling light.
With sufficient power, Clark's spear directly pierced through Eiklo's body.
Crack!
Countless bone shards were knocked out, but as an undead creature, Eiklo wasn't significantly affected.
"Clark, throw it out! Don't let it interfere with us!"
"Yes, my master."
While speaking, Clark grasped Eiklo's body. The magic array within went into overdrive, and Clark actually lifted Eiklo above his head.
"What?!"
Addis was terrified—truly terrified. That was a Skeleton Abomination, a warbeast!
Why did that stone giant have such power?!
But little did he know that while the blood clan couldn't outnumber the undead, when it came to engineering warbeasts—the blood clan truly feared no one!
Full-force throw!
Eiklo was hurled a dozen meters away, crushing plenty of skeletons along the way.
But as it was being tossed, it didn't forget to strike back—the butcher's blade left a massive gash on Clark's wing. Clark glanced at the wound, then said cautiously,
"My master, if you want to defeat it, you may need to build something even bigger than me."
"You think I don't want to? But without a bloodstone carving workshop, how could I possibly build one?"
"Oh, well, looks like Clark's the only one who can save the day right now."
With that, Clark soared into the sky. Seeing the reeling Skeleton Abomination, he gripped his spear tighter and dived.
"If that's my master's order, I gladly accept!"
Clark dove down—using the very move, 'Assault Support'!
Upon landing, Eiklo was completely suppressed, and with the gargoyle in play, the enemy's warbeast posed no threat to their lines.
"You all hold off the skeletons; I'll deal with that guy!"
Once she had adjusted to her new body, Serea's gaze locked on Addis. Around him were clouds of deathly power forming a deadly curse.
According to Betimia's information, only she could approach safely to take the bone ring; anyone else would be eroded by the curse.
She had to go herself!
Celia seemed to have realized Serea's intent and tried to stop her.
"With your body like this, it's impossible for you to keep fighting. Let me face him."
"No, only by taking the bone ring—holding Addis's soul—can we prevent his resurrection. And I am the only one who can temporarily resist the death curse's erosion."
"..."
Celia was somewhat confused; she didn't know where Serea got this information, but chose to trust her.
"I'll cover you."
"But the curse—"
"The holy light will protect me."
As she spoke, white and golden light flared across Celia's body.
Divine Grace!
"How long can you keep it up?"
"Thirty minutes."
"Alright then."
Serea then drew the dagger from her waist.
"My queen! You—"
"Lola, I'll leave the front to you. Help Little Black hold off those cavalry, or we're finished."
As Serea spoke, right now, Lola was the only one available with control and spellcasting skills.
With her there, Little Black would have the confidence to stop all the cavalry.
What?
You're wondering how an assassin could chase down cavalry?
That's Little Black's business. In any case, Serea believed in Little Black.
"All units protect Lola, form a mobile battle core around her, and keep the formation tight!"
Facing the charging skeletons and Skeleton Warriors, Serea steeled herself.
The skeleton light cavalry rushed to the front of the formation.
"Shashasha!"
The skeleton light cavalry let out shrill howls, riding their bone steeds.
Six skeleton light cavalry began a group charge, trying to break through the Skeleton Warriors' defense.
"You shall not pass!"
But suddenly, a dark figure struck first. Seeing the shadow, the skeleton light cavalry had no reason to veer away—they crashed right into it!
A spear aimed at Little Black, but before the hoof landed, a cold gleam flashed!
Little Black's bony tail lashed out, sweeping at the horse's hooves—a bone horse was knocked down instantly, and then...
Blade thrust! Blade Rend!
The fallen cavalryman's combat power plummeted, and Little Black rushed up and finished him in one swift combo.
But at this moment, the remaining skeleton cavalry had reached the frontlines of the Skeleton Warriors.
Charge Enhancement, Raging Assault!
The five remaining skeleton cavalrymen charged fiercely at the Skeleton Warriors, as Lola finished casting her spell.
Revitalize!
Vines burst forth, entangling the bone horses' hooves. Two skeleton cavalry were trapped and knocked off, but the other three still reached the frontline.
Lethal Thrust!
The Skeleton Warriors raised their shields, but the spears from the skeleton cavalry struck the shields, and then an astonishing scene unfolded—despite having higher stats, the Skeleton Warriors were directly scattered, some even flung away.
Since the skeleton cavalry managed to disrupt the Skeleton Warriors' lines, they did not halt. Instead, they began maneuvering, waiting for their next charge.
A few Skeleton Warriors were knocked into the mass of skeletons, but fortunately the skeletons hadn't completely surrounded them. The wounded Skeleton Warriors killed several skeletons, and the line quickly reformed.
"We must block them! If the enemy's skeletons and Skeleton Warriors surround us and the lines collapse, we're finished!"
"Yes, Ma'am!"
Sweat beaded on Lola's forehead. She kept her eyes locked on the skeleton cavalry circling after the charge.
Because that last charge had inflicted considerable damage on the Skeleton Warriors, the next phase of battle would be unimaginably tough.
Those skeleton cavalry that had been knocked off their steeds by Lola's spell now faced Little Black's assault.
"Stop him!"
Addis gave the command, and Betimia prepared her spell—Psionic Scream unleashed.
Just then, an arrow streaked across half the battlefield.
Dodge!
Betimia dodged it, but Little White had already nocked another arrow, letting loose a swift triple shot!
There was no flicker in the soul fire in Little White's eyes—he was calm now.
He knew exactly what he had to do.
The skeletons were no threat; the real threat was the enemy casters, and every arrow from Little White was aimed at them!
(To be continued...)
