Reawakening: XXX-Talent: Biomass Absorption!

Chapter 11: F-Tier Strengthening Serum!

The Enforcer team had the highest authority in a city. How could anyone blatantly disregard a high-ranking officer!?

"No, no. This is all Miles!" said Chris, not wanting to wait for the powerful people from the patrol team to start asking questions. Instead, he immediately attempted to set the record straight, not wanting to take any credit at all.

The officer, with all his experience, knew that it was all Miles's handiwork. The surveillance video sent to him by his subordinates told him that already.

"Not bad. Is your name Miles? I'm Nate, captain of both Rusthaven and Whitehaven district!"

Miles cocked his eyebrows when he heard the name.

Nate? Wasn't this related to the flashes of images he had received just now?

[Nathaniel Stingston: Vice-Captain of Rusthaven and Whitehaven. Genetic Soldier -1. Known as a notoriously crooked businessman and likes to take advantage of others.

"Yes, I'm Miles, nice to meet you commander Nathaniel?" Miles nodded.

Nate grinned at Miles, his eyes glistening and his voice gentle. "Just call me Nate and let me say, Thank you for your help."

In one sentence, he had reduced Miles's matter of life or death combat to mere help!

From his memories, he knew that whenever a rift appeared, threatening the safety of the city, those who extinguished the threat would receive a special reward. What more a dangerous thing like this.

Miles had no intention of exposing the guy.

"We were just defending ourselves. Otherwise, we would've died as well!"

Nate maintained his smile, but deep inside, he wondered why Miles was so calm. Too calm, in fact.

"It's like that—you can collect the fangs and heart's blood of the greenscale reavers and sell them for a nice price, but because considering you're so young, if you sell them on your own, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't make a profit."

Miles smiled thoughtfully at that.

If it was Chris who was standing there, he might have fallen for Nate's trick.

Fangs and heart's blood may not sell for much, but an entire body could be counted as a significant contribution. If he wanted to, Nate could have actually claimed that he was the one that killed all of them.

These were all behind the scenes, under the counter dealings. In this world, the strong wielded the scepter. The ones who were powerful had a say in everything.

Miles did not beat around the bush either and said, "Eight bodies for eight F-tier strengthening serums!"

Nate's smile froze, his gleamy pleasant demeanor replaced by one of seriousness.

The price of F-tier strengthening serums was not too high.

One tube only costs about 10,000 credits, but in the City, the average wage a month hovered around a very humble 1,000 credits.

Eight tubes of that serum would cost 80,000!

As an awakened Enforcer, however, Nate could purchase them at an 'insider's price,' saving himself half the cost.

40,000 credits was the exact amount that Miles had received as a reward for killing the greenscale reavers.

If that was true, wasn't that too much of a coincidence?

"Either way, you won't make a loss!" Miles added.

Nate was about to probe him further, but his questions were already answered.

It appeared that this kid really did know things!

"Fine. You got it!"

"Then, thank you, Captain !" Miles answered in a happy, congratulatory tone.

"Hahaha, there's no need to thank me. You're not bad all, all. If you come across something good next time, you can come see me!"

Nate added Miles to his communicator. He might have use of it in the future.

If this boy could kill greenscale reavers now, he might just be powerful enough in the future. He might just be useful in the time to come.

However, he suddenly thought of something.

Miles felt puzzled by the Vice-Enforcers gaze.

"Is there something else, Captain?"

Miles paused, thinking. "Would you like to consider joining the Enforcer's team?"

Seeing as Miles was about to refuse, he quickly added, "Don't say no yet. I know your didn't awaken, but we have a special spot for someone like you. You can skip the assessment. I want to recruit you directly."

"We'll give you equipments to go dimension hunting. You'll get 2 million credits yearly, a villa in Whitehaven city, Nuclear techniques and combat techniques for your rank to boost your strength. Think about it."

Miles fell silent. The offer was truely tempting. He only got a few hundred credits monthly from his job.

The villa in the Whitehaven District was surprising too. They are considered royalty compared to Rusthaven that is prone to mutated monsters attacks and crime.

Moving to a safer district was appealing!

But what tempted him most were the promised Nuclear Techniques and equipments. These were vital for beginners like him.

Nuclear Techniques, Combat techniques and Nuclear weapons weren't sold openly. You had to use special trade routes, and they were incredibly expensive.

Even the lowest-ranked Nuclear weapons techniques were hard to afford.

As tempting as it was, Miles didn't still agree.

"Thank you. I'll think about it carefully."

Miles nodded, not pushing for an answer. "No pressure. Just focus on developing your Nuclear Pulse quickly and become a super Soldier."

"Thanks again."

Miles gave half of the serums he had received to Chris. The latter merely stared at the thing that they never even dared imagine having.

"Why did you ask for so many? Aren't these things ridiculously costly?" Chris asked.

"Members of the patrol team get them for half-price."

"Wow. Being part of the patrol team sounds great. Governments will always be governments. It'll be great if we could make the team next time!"

"You should aim for the Universities. Being an Enforcer might be tempting but it's not for everyone!" Miles replied.

Chris nodded and then suddenly said.

"Wait, Miles, take these two back. I don't need so many. Also, I only killed one. If you hadn't saved me, I would've died just now!"

Chris warmly pushed two vials into Miles's hands.

"You can earn it back once you become a Super soldier." Miles gave them back.
