Reaper's Resurgence: A System Reset

B4 | Chapter 64

Somewhere Nearby within the Tier 5 Dungeon

Crystal finally begins to fly in the direction that she senses her daughter now that she's finished digesting the magma hydra that she had devoured. Gaining the man's Class S magma affinity in the process and annihilating him from existence so badly that the System wasn't even able to revive him.

Definitely a perk of being a devourer.

A faint smile stretches across her face at that thought. But when she gets within sight of the world Lexi is fighting on, she has to stop to do a double-take at what she finds.

Because what she finds is her daughter bombarding two massive monsters, both of whom are badly wounded and about fifty levels above her, with a rain of bolts of pure quantum energy.

Did she just sit by and let them almost kill each other before stepping in to finish them off herself…?

She watches for a second before her smile widens with a hint of pride.

That's my girl.

That makes her nod her head once while crossing her arms before she just stops to watch the battle. Deciding that she'll only interfere if Lexi is in trouble.

But she doubts she'll need to interfere.

The bosses are only about fifty levels above her after all. And they're both badly injured.

So she just watches as the bombardment continues, wearing down the kraken and sharkie's injuries more and more. Albeit with the sharkie keeping more of the damage than the kraken since the kraken can heal.

At this point it is obvious to her that the two boss monsters don't stand a chance. They probably would have been tough opponents for Lexi if they weren't so badly wounded from fighting each other, but what-ifs don't matter on the battlefield.

And with that, she watches as Lexi completely finishes off the sharkie. Finally cutting the thing's entire head off with one massive arc of quantum energy mixed with purple lightning.

After the sharkie, she focuses all of her attention on the kraken-like boss. Defeating it in a similar manner after managing to find its head underwater. Clearly not needing to breathe in the process.

Then Lexi moves on to the boss chests that spawn wherever the bosses specific areas are. First heading back to the ocean world to a specific part of it to claim the sharkie's chest before going back and searching for the boss area of the squid. Which takes her a good few minutes.

She's lucky no one else found it first…

Despite her thoughts, she can't help but smile at the sight of her daughter running around searching for loot. Because it reminds her of herself from her early years.

But then she lets out a sigh as she remembers that Lexi is Tier 5. Which means it won't be all that long before she reaches Ascendant Tier.

And when that happens…

Crystal shakes her head to get rid of the thought. Then she begins to approach her daughter for the first time in a while.

Alexia

Well that was a let-down. The sharkie only gave me some item that makes it so that I can move freely in any form of liquid without any disturbance to my movements. But I can already do that.

Mostly.

Okay, the item may come in some use I guess.

I can teleport, but when it comes to actually moving, I'm not as good underwater. Which is why I fought those two bosses from outside of the water.

As for what I got from the kraken? It's… a little more useful and a little less useful.

The thing is a ring that increases my regeneration from any sort of physical attacks.

Which would be very useful if I could actually take damage from physical attacks. But as it is, I can't take damage from physical attacks. So it's rather useless to me.

It, however, is not useless to Astrid. So I'll just give it to her.

I'm sure she'll be happy with it.

And with those two boss monsters dealt with, I can finally go head to a different world to-

My thoughts are cut off when I suddenly sense the quantum energy source heading my way, making me turn my head and narrow my eyes. Only for my eyes to widen when the source gets within sight. Following which I teleport straight over to them and hug her as she chuckles and pats my back.

No doubt surprising the viewers watching me in the process.

"It's good to see you too, Lexi," I hear Mom say before we separate and she pats me on my head, making me realize that she's actually taller than me.

The corners of my lips angle downwards a bit at that realization, but the thought is quickly replaced as I ask, "What about the Judge? Isn't he still chasing you?"

She shakes her head with a dark light in her eye and answers, "Nope. He gave up after I got a Class S time magic affinity and became largely immune to his temporal manipulations."

That revelation has me grinning. Both in pride, and amusement at the thought of the Judge chasing after Mom only for his means of trapping her to be taken away. And he's not allowed to kill her. After all, his order from the universe is to trap her. Not to kill her.

So if he used his True Form powers to kill her, he'd be the one being punished and chased.

A thought suddenly comes to mind as I remember what I sensed before.

"Were you the one who finished off Ignivara?" I ask out of curiosity while tilting my head.

"Yep," Mom answers with a nod of her head as she finally removes her hand from my head and puts it into her pocket. "I didn't have a Class S magma affinity yet, so I decided your enemy would make a good sacrifice."

"Understandable," I respond with a nod of my own. "I'm a little surprised you managed to come into this dungeon though."

Mom tilts her head and asks, "You do remember I'm a Dimensional Champion too, right?"

That question gives me pause as I open my mouth, only to close it again when I remember the System Message from a while back when I first met with her again. A message telling me about the Dimensional Champion of Dimensional Block #1000 entering my Block.

Right. I forgot about that.

"Enough about that lizard though," Mom says before focusing on me with her eyes narrowed a little bit, surprising me with her seriousness. "Lexi, please be careful when you reach Ascendant Tier. Do it where you're absolutely sure you're safe and no one can find you."

Wait… what?
