"That's brutal," Denise muttered, but she was nodding, her eyes looking into the distance. She saw how my strategy might work.

"She's shown an obsession with Leon. I'm thinking of a way to take advantage of that before trying your method."

"No problem. Who knows, yours might work best. You can also use her colleagues for your blackmail, Carmel and the other three women share a sisterly relationship."

"Erhmm… about the 20 billion. Is that true?"

"Yes."

"That's a lot of money," Denise said, shaking her head. "It raises your net worth by several billions."

"It is indeed a lot of money, but nothing compared to 500 billion."

Through the screen, Denise refocused her gaze on me, observing my face for several seconds and nodding slowly.

"You've changed a lot from the boy who first stepped into my office. That's good for all of us."

"Really? What about my darkness?"

Denise's words held a lot of truth. Just as I was about to end the call, she raised a question.

"Do you not think I can be of service with the matters at hand? Isn't Michigan big enough for you?"

"It is, but this seems like something important to you."

"Do you not believe in Nadia? You handle Michigan and let Nadia handle this one.

Also, Grace now knows a lot. Think about whether we should let her go, kill her, or make her the manpower you mentioned."

Reclining my seat and settling in for the long ride, I practiced Mind Breathing to pass the time, arms folded over my chest as a stream of Psion left from my head into my nose and slightly parted lips.

By this point, the channel connecting my mind with my body had already been formed, but it wasn't yet ready to begin transmitting Psion to and fro.

Hours passed. Whenever I took a break and looked out the window, I saw the landscape had largely changed.

Silvia came around to help connect to the internet to no avail and was just walking away when the plane suddenly trembled.

It shook for some seconds before calming down, and just as I began thinking it was some common turbulence, it shook again, this time so heavily that Silvia, who was standing, stumbled backwards and fell into my lap.

I had just caught the woman and was trying to help her to a seat when the plane suddenly leaned left and began diving.

I wasn't a simple man, and Silvia was an air hostess, so there were no sounds from us.

Our hearts, though—particularly the blonde's—began threatening to jump out of our chests.

Looking out the window, my eyes narrowed with true worry as I saw we were uncontrollably losing altitude.

Then an explosion rang out.

"Great. We lost the left engine."

My calmness in tone at the current situation contrasted with Silvia's bewildered face, her eyes bulging at me.

"Calm down."

Since she was nearly resting in my embrace, her large melons on my thighs, I decided to hit her very accessible rump and restart her brain.

Silvia had just started blinking and regaining herself when the plane stabilized, and the captain's voice rang out.

"Everyone, please put on your seatbelts. We just lost our left engine and will be descending to the San Bernardino Airport for an emergency landing…"

"You heard the man. Go buckle up."

Quickly pushing off me, Silvia headed to her space at the front, buckling down while communicating with the pilot.

After the steep dive to the left and the captain's announcement, the plane stabilized and even climbed a little in altitude.

It took about 20 minutes, but soon the Learjet lowered and touched ground, employing its brakes and rolling to a stop on a large runway, fire trucks in pursuit.

"How would I have survived if the plane had crashed?"

I'm human. Saying I felt no fear throughout the emergency would be a lie.

While I maintained a calm, unbothered expression, within, especially in my mind, there was a mini panic.

Plans upon plans were being created and discarded.

My best plan so far had been to blast a hole through the craft and jump out when the plane was at a manageable altitude.

I figured I could deploy my knight and have it cushion my fall.

Stepping out of the plane alive, I thanked the men who landed the aircraft.

From them, I learned that the explosion of the left engine was a result of wear and tear, with a touch of overheating.

Troubled but unfazed by the ordeal I had just been through, I sat in the VIP lobby of the airport, waiting for my next flight to get ready.

Given that I was already in California, I was told to expect a private flight to Los Angeles in an hour.

I called Denise, though, and she made it 20 minutes.

"After what just happened, I would think you'd become more cautious. Value patience."

"What you just described is fear."

With 20 minutes to go, though heavy-hearted, my mind couldn't help but stray to Silvia.

Thoughts of having the woman kneel between my legs and cater to my dick were quite pleasing but then there was the matter of Gangpin, her boss, and his trap.
