"Pfttt... hahahaha." Asuna burst out laughing, spilling all the water she had brought all over herself.

She halted. "O-Oh, my bad..."

Karina sighed. "It's fine, I made sure the seats have a water absorption function after the last 150 times you've done this."

Asuna's eyes sparkled. "Aww... Karina... you shouldn't have."

She let out a giggle. "Though that was a pretty straightforward story. I was expecting that bitch of a manager to be a bit more persistent on keeping you there."

Karina tilted her head. "Why? Because I didn't speak out when they were treating me like shit?"

Asuna shrugged. "I mean, yeah? You couldn't leave because of the money situation, and you were stubborn enough to decline what I had tried giving you."

Karina narrowed her eyes. "Asuna... you know I don't like living off loans. Especially from my best friend."

That was how she lived her life ever since she was little.

Her parents came from humble beginnings, and they had thought that trust was the most important quality two people could have between each other.

The moment materialistic possessions such as money came into play... that trust waned a little.

Because of that, Karina never wanted to see how far it could wane before she lost her friend.

But I should stop thinking about that... it's not like it matters now. I have some money, and the only reason I still worked in that hell-hole was because I had nothing better to do, Karina thought with determination as she put her hands on the steering wheel.

"Where's Maria?" she asked.

"The milf? She's probably out with her kid in the park, lemme text her," Asuna replied and pulled out her phone.

Maria was none other than Milf_GattlingGun.

She was the loving mother to one child, and no one knew why she had picked such a username.

But when Karina asked, she was met with the usual, "Because it sounds funny and no one would think I'm an actual milf."

Anyhow, a few minutes had passed and Asuna showed her phone with a single location on it.

"I'm just messing with you. How does Starlight sound?"

"Very cheesy... but it's pretty cool," Karina replied. "Do you think Maria is going to join?"

"Mhm." Asuna nodded. "She accepted yesterday. I didn't tell you because I wanted you to channel all your anger into the resignation and tell the team manager to buzz off, you know?"

Karina glanced at her for a moment, then let out a sigh. "You're unbelievable..."

This was an idea they had come up with at the end of the beta test, or more like, Karina had suggested it.

Asuna was a famous streamer and one of the most popular players in the Sketa Online community. If she created her own guild, the benefits would be extraordinary.

And of course, Asuna couldn't help but invite Karina.

At first, she was hesitant since she was initially planning on working out the plans of her idol company.

But seeing Asuna, and the fact that she was a streamer ignited the thought of Virtual Idols. So after a bit of back and forth, they had set some ground rules.

Karina would do the paperwork for the guild, and in exchange, Asuna promised to stream their future idol concerts.

And now, the only thing left was getting the final founding members of the guild.

After that, Asuna would make a guild recruitment post, and of course, Karina and Maria would oversee the recruitment itself.

It took a few minutes, but they finally arrived.

When they stepped out of the car and approached the playground, they saw the familiar black-haired Maria playing with her daughter in the sand.

But once she noticed the two had arrived, she patted her daughter's head and stood up, slowly walking over to them.

The closer she got, the more her height triumphed above theirs.

Not only was she a milf, she was a very tall milf.

"Sup, you two." Maria waved. "How's it going? You quit the job yet, Karina?"

"Mhm, I'll explain the details later," Karina replied.

"If you don't mind." Asuna nodded with a smile. "I already ordered the necessities, so they should be arriving in a few hours or so."

Maria pouted. "So you went ahead and did it without informing me, huh? Tsk tsk... you should be punished, Asuna."

A shiver ran down Asuna's spine. "H-Hey... I thought we talked about this though?"

"Hm?" Maria tilted her head, her eyes widening. "Oh yeah! I remember now, my bad."

Karina rolled her eyes as she walked past the two of them and arrived at the sand playground.

She leaned down and patted the head of Maria's kid.

"Hey Elise, here..." Karina took a pastry out of her pocket and handed it over to little Elise.

"Waaah!" Elise's eyes widened as she yoinked the pastry out of Karina's hands in the blink of an eye and began eating.

That was when Maria finally noticed the pastry.

"Hey hey, vixen, are you trying to spoil my child in my presence?" Maria muttered with an ominous smile.

"My bad... I promised little Elise I'd get her some sweets," Karina replied, guilty. "But hey... at least she's happy...?"

"Mhm..." Maria nodded slowly as she approached, towering ove Karina. "What punishment should I bestow upon you, little Karina?"

"Pfft... Maria, I think you're playing into the milf role a bit too much," Asuna remarked with a giggle. "Come on, get your kid. I want to show you all what I bought."

"Tch... fine," Maria replied with a pout as she went over to the sand and picked up her kid.

Karina let out a relieved breath as she sent a thumbs-up Asuna's way, then entered the car.
