[SPECIAL REWARD: CHAOS WITNESS]

[Void Energy Pool Permanently Expanded - Cosmic Event Bonus]

[New Maximum Capacity: 24,000 Void Energy]

Noah stared at the numbers, barely able to process the magnitude of the increase. His void energy reserves had quintupled, transforming him from someone who had to carefully manage his power usage into someone with nearly limitless dimensional capabilities.

"Noah," the Queen's voice cut through his system notifications, bringing him back to the immediate crisis. Around them, the surviving elves floated in the debris field of their destroyed city, clinging to chunks of stone and metal while trying to comprehend what had just occurred while the rest of lilivil continued to unravel before their eyes.

"Everyone hold hands," Noah said quickly, extending his arms toward the nearest elves. "Form a chain, everyone connected. I'm getting us out of here."

The process took several minutes as two million terrified people linked together in the vacuum that was once Lilivil, but finally, the chain was complete. Noah felt the massive drain on his new energy reserves as he activated his most ambitious Domain Travel ever attempted.

"Domain Travel," he said clearly, and purple void energy erupted around the entire group like a cosmic aurora.

The sensation of transporting two million beings simultaneously was unlike anything Noah had experienced. Instead of the usual instantaneous shift, this felt like falling through layers of reality, each one peeling away to reveal deeper dimensions beneath. When they finally materialized inside his Domain, Noah staggered slightly from the effort, but remained standing.

'Even with the increased capacity, that took nearly eight thousand void energy,' he thought, checking his reserves. 'But everyone made it safely.'

Now he needed to get back to Raiju Prime. The Domain Link he'd established with Sera before leaving would allow him to return instantly, but first he needed to extract his team.

"Lucas, Lucy, everyone—you're coming with me," Noah announced. "The elves are safe here for now, but we need to coordinate with your government about refugee assistance."

His team gathered around him, and Noah activated Domain Link, targeting the connection he'd established with Sera days earlier. The dimensional shift was swift and disorienting, depositing them in what appeared to be a palace garden where Sera was tending to some kind of luminescent flowers.

The young guard jumped backward with a startled cry when seven people suddenly materialized beside her flower bed, her hand immediately going to her weapon before recognition set in.

"Noah!" she said, relief flooding her voice. "You're back! I felt something strange earlier, like a tugging sensation, but I didn't know what it meant."

"That was the Domain Link activating," Noah explained gently. "Thank you for agreeing to it. You just helped save two million people."

Sera's eyes went wide. "Two million? What happened out there?"

Before Noah could answer, Lucy was already moving toward the palace's main communications center. "I need to contact the refugee coordination office immediately," she said over her shoulder. "And get word to Beta and Gamma about emergency housing assistance."

"Two million refugees," Lucas said, running calculations in his head. "Even with our resources, that's going to strain our infrastructure significantly."

"It's temporary," Noah assured him. "Once we figure out where they can be permanently relocated, they won't need to stay on Raiju Prime long-term."

The team made their way back to the family quarters where they'd been staying, but the atmosphere was subdued. The weight of recent events—the loss of King Damien, Vex's kidnapping, the destruction of an entire world, and the terrifying appearance of Gigarose—had settled over them like a heavy blanket.

They gathered in one of the sitting rooms, and for a moment, nobody spoke. The silence stretched until Kelvin finally broke it.

"Okay," he said, settling into a chair with uncharacteristic seriousness. "Let's talk about what we learned. Because I'm pretty sure we just witnessed something that changes everything we thought we knew about this situation."

"Where do we even start?" Sophie asked, curling up in another chair. "The king and Vex are still missing, we've got two million displaced elves to worry about, and apparently there's a crazy powerful lady out there who considers Noah her personal property."

"Let's start with the Eighth Ancestor," Diana suggested. "We learned more about his methods on Lilivil than we did from all the Sterling archives combined."

Lucas nodded grimly. "The facility there was definitely his work. The infinity symbols, the experimental approach in the facility was focused on something different than what we thought we knew from the records."

"Those creatures," Kelvin said, taking a breather . "The ones we fought in the lab. They had adaptive abilities, could copy whatever powers we used against them. And according to the historical records, copying abilities was the Eighth Ancestor's original power."

"So he's not just kidnapping family heads for their cores," Lyra added, pulling out her tablet to review her notes. "He's trying to create artificial beings with his own ability set."

"But why?" Sophie asked. "If he can already copy abilities himself, what's the point of making creatures that can do the same thing?"

Noah leaned forward, his mind working through the implications. "Think about what Uncle Dom told us. The Eighth Ancestor's original power only manifested under extreme stress, and even then, the copied abilities were temporary. What if he's trying to create permanent vessels for copied powers?"

"Like biological storage devices," Kelvin said, his expression growing more troubled. "He copies an ability from a family head, transfers it to one of these artificial beings, and now he has a permanent source of that power."

"Which would explain the breeding programs," Diana added darkly. "Both on Lilivil and probably in other locations we haven't found yet. He's not just collecting powers—he's trying to mass-produce them."

Lucas stood up and began pacing, a habit he'd inherited from their instructors back on earth during their academy training. "If that's true, then every family head who's disappeared over the centuries... their abilities could still be out there, stored in these artificial beings."

"Including your fathers," Sophie said quietly. "If he took them for the same purpose..."

The room fell silent again as the implications sank in. They weren't just dealing with a kidnapper—they were facing someone who had potentially been building an army of power-enhanced artificial beings for generations.

"There's something else," Lyra said, consulting her tablet. "The timeline doesn't work for the Eighth Ancestor to have been operating alone this entire time. Even with enhanced longevity, we're talking about activities spanning multiple centuries."

"You think he has help?" Kelvin asked.

"I think he has successors," Lyra replied. "The title of 'Eighth Ancestor' might be passed down, like Uncle Dom suggested. Each generation continuing the work, building on what came before."

"That's even worse," Diana said. "If we're dealing with an organization rather than an individual, then capturing or terminating one person won't end the threat."

Uncle Dom, who had been quiet during most of the discussion, suddenly spoke up. "The boy makes an interesting point about artificial vessels. In my experience with dimensional research, creating stable containers for copied energy requires extremely sophisticated understanding of consciousness transfer."

Everyone turned to look at him, waiting for the inevitable moment when his commentary would veer into incomprehensible territory.

"Which suggests," Dom continued with unusual clarity, "that whoever is currently operating as the Eighth Ancestor has access to technology or abilities far beyond what the original seven families possessed."

"Technology like what we saw in that facility," Noah said. "The level of bio-engineering required to create those artificial beings... that's not something you develop overnight."

"It's also not something you develop without extensive testing," Lucas added. "Which means there are probably other facilities out there, other experiments we haven't discovered yet."

The conversation was interrupted by Lucy's return from the communications center. Her expression was grim as she settled into an empty chair.

"Good news and bad news," she announced. "The good news is that refugee coordination is mobilizing emergency resources. We can provide temporary housing and basic necessities for the elven population."

"What's the bad news?" Sophie asked, though her tone suggested she already suspected it wouldn't be pleasant.

"The bad news is that the trail is going cold. We've received reports of similar incidents at three other locations—facilities being destroyed, populations being displaced, and no trace of whoever's responsible."

"Three other locations?" Noah felt a chill run down his spine. "Are we talking about more planets?"

"Two planets and a space station," Lucy confirmed. "All of them had facilities with the same infinity symbol markings, all of them were evacuated just before complete destruction."

"Someone's cleaning house," Diana said grimly. "Destroying evidence, eliminating witnesses, making sure there's no trail to follow."

"Or," Kelvin suggested, "someone's accelerating their timeline. Maybe what happened on Lilivil was supposed to be coordinated with these other attacks."

Noah stood up abruptly, his mind racing through the possibilities. "I need to check on the elves. Make sure they're settling in okay, see if their Queen has any additional information about the Eighth Ancestor's activities."

"Want company?" Lucas asked.

"No, I'll be fine. You guys get some rest, clean up, try to process everything that's happened. We'll reconvene in a few hours and figure out our next move."

The others nodded, clearly exhausted from the day's events. As they began dispersing to their rooms, Noah moved to a clear area around the palace garden and activated his Domain.

"Domain," he said simply, and the familiar purple portal opened beneath him.

He materialized in his pocket dimension to find it transformed beyond recognition. What had once been an empty space of rolling plains now hosted a massive temporary settlement. The two million elves had organized themselves with impressive efficiency.

In the distance, Noah could see his three companions maintaining a respectful distance from the new inhabitants. Storm appeared to be pestering Nyx about something, darting around the larger dragon with the energetic persistence of a younger sibling seeking attention. Nyx, for his part, seemed determined to ignore Storm's antics while Ivy rested peacefully nearby.

'They're being considerate,' Noah realized with a surge of affection for his companions. 'They know the elves have been through enough trauma without dealing with the fear of massive predators.'

The Queen approached as Noah surveyed the temporary settlement, her regal bearing intact despite the circumstances.

"Noah," she said, offering a slight bow. "Thank you again for what you've done. Without your intervention, my people would have perished with our world."

"I'm sorry I couldn't save Lilivil itself," Noah replied. "I know it was more than just your home."

"Our world was already dying," the Queen said sadly. "The experiments, the corruption of Lilivil's essence... perhaps destruction was a mercy for the great entity that had protected us for so long."

She looked around at the organized camps her people had established. "What will become of us now? We cannot remain in your dimension indefinitely."

"Princess Lucy is coordinating with refugee services on Raiju Prime," Noah explained. "Temporary housing, basic necessities, medical care for anyone who needs it. It's not perfect, but it's a start."

"And long-term?"

"That's still being worked out. But I promise you won't be abandoned here. My government has resources, and there are other worlds that might be suitable for resettlement."

The Queen nodded, then hesitated before speaking again. "Noah, there's something I need to tell you about the facility on our world. Something I didn't mention earlier because..." She paused, gathering her courage. "Because I was ashamed."

"What is it?"

"The entity you call the Eighth Ancestor... he didn't just seduce my people centuries ago. Some of us... some of us knew what he was doing. We helped him."

Noah felt his stomach clench. "What do you mean?"

"The experiments weren't just conducted on volunteers," the Queen said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Some of my people, seduced by his promises of power and knowledge, helped him capture others. Helped him build his facilities, maintain his breeding programs."

"Your Majesty—"

"I need you to understand," she continued urgently. "Not all of my people are innocent victims. Some of them made choices that led to centuries of suffering for others. If you're going to help us, you need to know what you're taking responsibility for."

Before Noah could respond, he became aware of someone approaching. He turned to see Captain Seraleth walking toward them, her military bearing intact but her expression carrying something softer than the hostility she'd shown earlier.

"Noah," she said, stopping a respectful distance away. "I wanted to apologize for my earlier behavior. You saved my people, and I... I reacted poorly to impossible circumstances."

"You were protecting your mother and your people," Noah replied. "There's nothing to apologize for."

Seraleth stepped closer, and Noah noticed that she'd somehow managed to maintain her appearance despite the chaos of recent events. Her armor was clean and properly adjusted and her large eyes seemed to catch and hold the ambient light of the Domain.

"I read somewhere that humans have customs for expressing gratitude," she said, her voice taking on a slightly formal tone. "Physical gestures that convey appreciation."

Before Noah could ask what she meant, Seraleth stepped forward and kissed him gently on the cheek. The contact was brief and chaste, but Noah felt his face immediately begin to burn with embarrassment.

"Thank you," she said simply, stepping back with a small smile. "For everything."

Noah cleared his throat, acutely aware that his face was probably bright red. "It was... it was nothing. Anyone would have done the same thing."

"No," the Queen said softly, "they wouldn't have. What you did required not just power, but compassion. That combination is rarer than you might think."

To distract himself from the continued heat in his cheeks, Noah stretched out his hands and began materializing items from his void storage. He'd managed to collect various supplies from Lilivil before Gigarose's intervention while they were debating concerns about resources needed to facilitate the domain transport.

Items like food stores, clothing, personal items, tools and equipment that might help the elves maintain some connection to their lost home.

Containers of preserved foods appeared in neat stacks, followed by bundles of clothing and personal items. It wasn't enough for two million people, but it was a start.

"I wasn't able to save much," Noah said as the items continued to appear. "There wasn't time with everything that was happening. But I hoped you could hold onto some parts of your lives."

The assembled elves began moving forward to examine the salvaged items, and Noah heard voices rising in recognition and gratitude as people found familiar foods, clothing in traditional styles, and personal items that had seemed lost forever.

Several elves approached and bowed deeply, their voices joining in what sounded like a traditional blessing or song of thanks. The harmonies were beautiful, rising and falling in patterns that seemed to resonate with the energy of the Domain itself.

Noah nodded acknowledgment, feeling simultaneously honored and overwhelmed by their gratitude. "I'll be back to check on everyone soon," he told the Queen. "If you need anything, anything at all, just..." He paused, realizing he didn't have a way for them to contact him from inside the Domain.

"We'll be fine," the Queen assured him. "My people are resilient. We'll organize ourselves properly and wait for word about our future."

Noah nodded, he looked around and felt a pang of pity. It wasn't easy, what the elves were about to endure. It wasn't easy to imagine even.

"Domain," Noah said, and the familiar purple energy enveloped him.

He materialized back in the palace garden where they'd first returned, but immediately sensed he wasn't alone. Turning, he saw Sophie standing a short distance away, her expression unreadable in the soft light of Raiju Prime's afternoon sun.

She approached him slowly, her usual confident stride replaced by something more hesitant.

"Noah," she said, stopping about arm's length away. "We need to talk."

"About what?" Noah asked, though something in her tone made him suspect he already knew.

"About things that have been happening lately between us," Sophie said, her voice carefully controlled. "About the discoveries we've or should I say I have been making about us,"

"Okay, are we good?" Noah asked uncertain he wanted to know that answer. Any conversation that started with a "We need to talk" in a relationship from his experience watching other people never ended well.

"Yes...yes. we are fine," Sophie said, chuckling slightly even. She brushed her hair aside then maintained eye contact with Noah.

"What happened at the club. We need to talk about it. Because I have been doing a lot of thinking about it," she said, her chest rising up and down while she fiddled her fingers.
