Chapter 11: Chapter 11

With Jin approaching Kyouka, she felt a strange sensation upon looking at his face, which carried a somber expression.

Suddenly, his hand extended, pinning her to the ground.

"J-Jin!" As she gazed at Jin's face, which was calmly getting closer to hers, Kyouka felt an odd excitement instead of the natural response of aversion.

However, just as Jin was about to kiss her, he struck himself with his right hand, causing him to stand and regain his senses.

"Damn the side effects," he muttered calmly, his suspended heart finally settling as he regained control over his body.

Nevertheless, Kyouka, stunned by the entire situation, looked at him in bewilderment.

The side effects of her ability were akin to a reward, reflecting the imagination of the person upon whom the master's ability was used.

So... was Kyouka's imagination centered around him?

Jin wasn't narcissistic, but he knew he had an exceptionally attractive face since childhood, always maintaining great relationships with women.

Kuroka was a clear example of this.

'I need to protect myself,' Jin thought, looking at Kyouka.

"Sorry about what happened, Kyouka it's just the side effects of your ability," he said, bowing slightly. Jin wasn't a predator and would never take a woman's first time just for some damned power, even if she consented.

For him, emotions always came first; after that, he could do whatever he pleased.

"It's fine, but how did you manage to break the side effects?" Kyouka asked, puzzled. However, as she recalled the side effects and how they manifested, her face turned completely red.

As stated earlier, the reward reflected the deepest desires of the servant toward their master, and in Kyouka's case, those desires...

Thinking about that, she forgot to wait for Jin's answer and rushed into the house like a bullet.

"It seems she remembered now," Jin sighed, realizing how awkward the situation had become for her.

Thus, he decided not to use Kyouka's ability during their connection and would focus solely on enhancing the power gained through their link.

Considering Kyouka's question, Jin didn't fully understand it either. He had merely intended to break the control imposed on his body and managed to do so.

Perhaps his body, being significantly resistant to curses, allowed him to counter the toll of using such powers.

"You can come out now if you want," Jin said, addressing the golden-haired figure that had been watching them from the beginning—it was Shushu.

"Miss Suruga, are you so eager to train that you skipped Himari's turn?" Jin asked curiously. He was sure she was the type to slack off on training most of the time, so he doubted that training was the reason she came.

"No, absolutely not. I was just curious about you, Lord Hiratsuka," Shushu said, clasping her hands behind her back and approaching, inspecting Jin quietly.

As a girl who loved romantic manga stories, she was curious about the charming prince in such tales.

She never thought such a man existed, having grown bored of those stories until she met Jin earlier, who exceeded her expectations.

His strength and confidence were significant factors for her, but his face played the biggest role.

No matter how much people claimed that inner beauty was more important than outer appearance, most people's first impressions were based on looks.

And Shushu's impression of Jin hit the mark completely.

"Thank you, I guess?" Jin said, feeling a slight headache. First, it was Kyouka, now it was Shushu.

He was sure it was only a matter of time before Himari got involved as well.

For some reason, he regretted coming and leaving his cat behind earlier.

'Kuroka, I miss you,' he thought, lamenting his poor fortune. There was no way for her to be here anyway.

"Can I call you Jin, like Kyouka and Himari?" Shushu asked, formulating a plan to get closer to Jin in her mind.

"Sure, that would be better," Jin replied.

"Alright, then, Jin, are you interested in games?"

"Games? You mean video games, right?" Jin, as if finding a kindred spirit, grabbed Shushu by her hands and looked at her with excitement.

Most young men wouldn't say no to games, let alone Jin, who was a professional and always played with his friends in the past.

Shushu was surprised by Jin's enthusiasm but suppressed her excitement at the success of her plan to grab his attention. She started telling him about the games she owned.

The two headed toward her room, talking and sharing their hobbies.

When they reached her room, Shushu went ahead to open the door but froze and quickly shut it.

Jin, having caught a glimpse of the reason, stifled his laughter as he looked at the embarrassed girl.

"Well... the room's a bit messy, so maybe we should postpone this?" Shushu said in frustration, realizing her plan had completely failed and cursing her earlier laziness for not cleaning up.

"I really don't mind. Come on, I'll help you clean," Jin said. Blessed by the system with life skills, house chores were no problem for him.

Without waiting for Shushu's response, he opened the door again and witnessed a level of chaos he'd never seen in his life.

Jin silently stared at Shushu, who tilted her head to the side, pretending to gaze at the sky nonchalantly.

Sighing, Jin decided to tackle the daunting task with the help of his trusty assistant, Shushu Suruga.

Despite her protests, the ordeal was over quickly under his authoritative guidance.

Shushu collapsed onto her bed, exhausted, and felt for the first time that battling Shouki monsters was hundreds of times easier.

During the cleaning process, Kyouka informed them she, Himari, and Nei were leaving on a mission, leaving Jin and Shushu alone in the house.

Thus, the two started playing combat games. Jin had to admit that her skills surprised him.

Sometimes Shushu won, and other times Jin did.

"I didn't expect you to be this skilled, Shushu."

"The same goes for you, Jin."

The atmosphere between them was good, and the two quickly became comfortable with each other, faster than Shushu had anticipated. As long as things went better than her original plan, it was a win-win.

But the Shouki monsters had other plans. Both Jin and Shushu felt the protective barrier around the house tremble.

They hurried outside and were greeted by massive Shouki monsters, their numbers far exceeding expectations.

The Seventh Squad was originally located in the southwestern region, an area frequently attacked by Yuki monsters.

Shushu, seeing a Shouki monster nearly 100 meters tall, felt this was her time to shine.

"Jin, leave the big Shouki to me," Jin replied, analyzing her power.

He had planned to test her during their earlier training, but he wouldn't pass up the chance to do so earlier.

Jin left the enormous Shouki to Shushu and decided to deal with the smaller ones.

Instead of using Excalibur, he chose to test the destructive power of Chastiefol.

Pulling it out, a brilliant light shone as he charged it with his sacred power.

The light was so bright that all the Shouki turned their gaze toward him, but as soon as it faded, they saw a massive spear looming.

Jin smiled slightly and instantly turned the single spear into over a hundred.

"Everyone gets one. Fairness is my motto," he said as the sky rained spears relentlessly.

It didn't take long for all the Shouki monsters to fall. To his surprise, Shushu also fell during her fight with the giant Shouki.

Jin noticed it had grown significantly larger and stronger than her, but he didn't intervene directly.

Intervening would mean killing the monster outright, but he wanted to help her grow stronger, so he linked his power to hers.

"Its next attack will come from the right," Shushu, who had fallen to the ground, heard Jin's voice in her mind and moved immediately, dodging the monster's strike.

"I've restored your body to peak condition, so don't think about losing. Start focusing, and I'll guide you in the fight." Grateful, Shushu understood his intention. If he intervened, the battle would have been over in one blow.

However, he wanted her to grow through her own strength. Determined, she readied herself for the battle.

"His large body gives him greater strength but makes him slower. Use your ability to adjust your size for better mobility and enough power to destabilize him." Jin's advice was simple—help Shushu adapt her body to the environment of the battle.

It wasn't necessary to match the monster's size. It was better to find a way to counter a larger foe with a smaller body.

Shushu slightly reduced her size, making her movements smoother. Thanks to the heightened focus from her link with Jin, the monster's actions became clearer to her.

The next attack came swiftly from the left. Shushu dodged and struck the monster's knee, causing it to stagger slightly.

"Good hit," Jin commented again in her mind. Seizing the moment of imbalance, Shushu delivered a strike to the monster's face, rapidly enlarging her body to increase her strength.

'She adapted quickly to the quick size-shifting after just my earlier instruction,' Jin thought. Of course, he wasn't completely full of himself, knowing that the majority of the credit went to Shushu's experience in dealing with her ability due to her constant battles with the Shouki monsters and her excellent mind.

Jin also refrained from using Kyouka's ability, as he didn't want a situation similar to what happened with her that morning.

"I did it!" As she delivered the final blow that killed the Shouki monster, Shushu returned to her normal size and fell from the sky toward Jin.

She was confident Jin would catch her, and he did.

"Good job—" Jin's words were cut off as Shushu grabbed his face and calmly brought her lips closer to his.

'Should I push her away now?' Jin thought, seeing her soft pink lips approaching calmly.

But as he noticed the fiery passion and love in her eyes, he decided to let her take his lips as a reward.

'It's not like I'll die from a kiss,' he thought.

Little did he know...
