RAIDS ONLINE: RAGNAROK BEAST

Chapter 6: One Who Encountered Death

A horrifying feeling that he won't be able to escape and that his life will be claimed by death.

The same feeling that Luel has once encountered, back on the fateful day when his life has been turned upside down. When he was crushed under the wreckage of his car, unable to move and escape, unable to scream and shout to call for help, and feeling hopeless, knowing that the only thing that was left for him to do was to wait for his death.

It's the same feeling that Luel is currently experiencing while being trampled under the foot of the Rank A Ragnarok Beast Cerberus.

Luel stands petrified in front of the Ragnarok Beast that has arrived, falling from the sky.

A 20-meter tall hound that carries the darkness of the abyss on its body as its unique trait, a three-headed hound, gives the single reason for its Code Name as a Ragnarok Beast. The guardian hound at the entrance of the underworld, the three-headed hound Cerberus.

Under its feet, where it has landed on the ground, is a large crater that contains all the bodies of all the Mutated Rabies it has crushed. And from the dead bodies of all its victims rises a dark aura that moves towards the body of the Cerberus like all of it is being absorbed.

The remaining Mutated Rabies that survive the arrival of the Cerberus have already scattered, running away in all directions just to get away from the Rank A Ragnarok Beast. Even Luel's presence was ignored as all the Rank E Ragnarok Beasts ran past him.

He should run like all the Mutated Rabies. Yet Luel remains frozen in front of the gaze coming from the eyes of the three-headed beast.

Just one wrong move will cost his life. But the Rank A Ragnarok Beast didn't even give a chance for Luel to move before it began its attack.

A raging dark flame surges from the mouth of the middle head of the Cerberus. At the next moment, that raging dark flame burst, blasting like a flamethrower aimed at Luel.

"Charge!..."

Luel is fast enough to activate his Charge Skill, increasing his strength and speed to make a sudden jump out of the blasting dark flame. But he is still not fast enough to dodge the Cerberus attack as the dark flame engulfs him and burns his back.

"ARGHHH!!!..."

Luel screamed in pain not only from the burning wounds on his back but also from the impact as he failed to land properly and stumble on the ground. Fortunately, that same pain keeps Luel conscious, knowing that he's still alive because he still feels the pain of all his burning wounds.

Luel tries to get back on his feet and remove his jacket which is still being burned by the dark flame, thinking that it would reduce the flame that is burning him. It indeed reduced the amount of flame, but that action didn't even reduce the pain that he was feeling from all of his burning wounds.

As Luel kneeled while looking down at the ground and enduring the pain of his burning wounds, he thought that he wouldn't be able to make his move for the next attack that was coming from the Cerberus. But no matter how much Luel waits, the next attack didn't have yet to come.

When Luel lifted his face to look at the Cerberus and confirm what might have stopped its next attack, what he saw was something he had never expected, not from the monster of what he thought was only a game.

The Cerberus, with its eyes on all of its three heads, is looking down at him, and the smirks on all of its mouths are something that Luel immediately recognizes.

...Humiliation...

The Rank A Ragnarok Beast Cerberus is mocking him, looking down at him like he's just a piece of thrash due to his failure to dodge its attack, like those people who disregard and abandon him when his life falls from the highest goal he tried to reach all the way to the bottom of his fear.

"You faqing monster!..."

Luel screams not to retribute against the mockery of Cerberus but to deny the humiliation that he feels.

At the end of his scream, the Cerberus cast its next attack, releasing dark lighting from the mouth of its right head facing Luel. The dark lighting scorched Luel's body turning his skin to cinders and paralyzing his whole body.

"ARGHHH!!!..."

Yet the dark lighting still didn't finish Luel but only added pain to his suffering.

As if to add more humiliation, the Cerberus cast its third attack, releasing a wave of dark ice and freezing Luel to where he was lying down on the ground, making Luel's voice unable to come out no matter how much he screamed due to the pain of all his injuries.

Luel is still alive. His high Link Force allows him to survive the three attributes attacks of the Cerberus. But his survival doesn't mean he is fortunate. Not even at the slightest.

The Cerberus proudly walks towards Luel. When it arrives in front of Luel, the Cerberus steps on him with its front left limb to slowly and painfully trample him while taking the pleasure of killing Luel.

Once again, Luel is being crushed, unable to move and escape, unable to scream and shout to call for help, and feeling hopeless, knowing that the only thing that is left for him to do is to wait for his death.

But this time it is different, for Luel wasn't drowning in the feeling of hopelessness. After all, what engulfs him right before the first death of his character Lucent, is the overwhelming desire for revenge.

To Devour the Rank A Ragnarok Beast Cerberus.

[Player Lucent has Died.]
