RAIDS ONLINE: RAGNAROK BEAST

Chapter 54: Player's Nightmare

"Give back my sympathy for you, PoodlePup!"

"Sympathy?... All I can hear is your usual b*tching, BlueB*!"

"I'm gonna PK (player killing) you right now, you ungrateful dog!"

"You think someone as weak as you who can't use the Devour Beast's ultimate skill can do that to me, BlueB*?"

"FAQ YOU!"

"Stop! If you both PK each other, Garmr might respawn!"

Luel successfully stops BlueHeroine and SilverPup from killing each other by restraining BlueHeroine with another indirect embrace and SilverPup using a 1-meter class silver light wolf that Luel summons with his Morph Skill.

It took almost half an hour, but BlueHeroine and SilverPup at least managed to calm down.

"So what will be our next move?"

To distract BlueHeroine and SilverPup's attention from their annoyance toward each other, Luel starts a discussion of their future plans.

Whether it's to continue Raiding more high-ranking Ragnarok Beasts with just the three of them or look for more members to join the Guardian Beast team, whatever would distract their attention should be fine for their discussion.

"We can just continue defeating and devouring more Unique Rank C Ragnarok Beasts with just the three of us."

BlueHeroine's suggestion is not unreasonable. They might have struggled with their Raid against the Unique Rank C Ragnarok Beast Garmr, but now that the Guardian Beast has already devoured Garmr, the three of them are definitely much stronger.

However, SilverPup can comprehend something else from BlueHeroine's suggestion.

"And why should we do something that risky again, BlueB*? It's not that you still believe that I can break through the 50 percent Link Force boundary, right?"

If they defeated and devoured another high-ranking Ragnarok Beast with just the three of them, SilverPup might have a chance to break through the 50 percent Link Force boundary and become much stronger. Or so Luel thought.

However, BlueHeroine already understands that what they did, winning against Garmr with the minimum amount of players possible, is already enough to confirm SilverPup's limit. And SilverPup has already accepted that fact.

What SilverPup is talking about is why BlueHeroine didn't suggest to look for new members first.

"Afraid to face the reality and consequence of your b*tching reputation, BlueB*?"

"PoodlePup..."

"Okay, that's enough."

Luel immediately restrains BlueHeroine before she can grab SilverPup's neck with both of her hands.

"Isn't that why we requested your help, SilverPup?"

"You're taking your wife's side again, Lucent..."

...Ding!!!...

Before SilverPup can begin her teasing, a notification sound alerts their group that comes along with the message from the Orion Guild players who are acting as the lookout squad.

The Rank B Ragnarok Beast Icarus that has been hunting BlueHeroine has been stopped by the lookout squad more than a hundred miles away from the Guardian Beast's location. Or so the message from the lookout squad says.

"Fine!... I will look for other players to join our team. But first, we need to log out now. Since BlueB*'s stalker has already sniffed out her location."

Luel, BlueHeroine, and SilverPup immediately initiate the logout sequence before Icarus can fly towards their location.

A ray of light beam each of them up towards the Moon Base indicating the start of the logout sequence. But before they can completely log out, BlueHeroine embraces Luel, wrapping her hands around his neck.

"Sheesh!... Get a room, you lovers!"

Luel couldn't even hear SilverPup's teasing remark. After all, his attention is focused on what BlueHeroine whispers in his ear.

"Remember my promise, Lucent?"

BlueHeroine or, rather, Amy, has promised to tell Luel everything as to why she quit and retired as an Idol to become a RAIDS ONLINE player along with her reason for wanting to defeat and devour all the high-ranking Ragnarok Beasts.

But just reminding him about her promise isn't enough to give him a hug, especially in front of SilverPup.

What Luel is wondering about, he will soon figure out on his own.

"Whatever you see after this, make sure to remember it all, Lucent..."

At the end of BlueHeroine's words, the three of them were beamed up towards the Moon Base and log out of RAIDS ONLINE. Or so Luel thought.

.

.

.

"Huh?... Why am I here at the Moon Base?"

Luel was sure that he chose the option of immediately logging out of RAIDS ONLINE, not going back to the Moon Base to where Selene is.

But right now, he's at the Moon Base, looking at Selene who's standing at the edge of the Moon staring at the Dark Gray World on her own.

Whatever the reason why Luel is at the Moon Base, either it is a glitch on the RAIDS ONLINE system or just his own mistake of choosing his log out option, Luel decides to approach Selene from behind and talk to her.

"Umm..."

It's an awkward situation where Luel can't think of how to greet Selene, and before he can think of what he should say, Selene beats him into starting the conversation.

"Congratulations on beating and devouring the Unique Rank C Ragnarok Beast Garmr, Devour Lucent."

The fact that Selene didn't turn around to look at him while saying her words, along with the melancholic tone of her voice, just made their situation more awkward or, rather, mysterious.

But still, the moment Luel came to Selene's side and looked at her eye to eye, Selene responded with her usual reassuring smile.

"The Guardian Beast team with you, BlueHeroine, and SilverPup have shown me a splendid fight."

"You saw our fight, Selene?"

"Of course, I did. Who do you think I am, Devour Lucent? I am the Moon Avatar."

Selene made a proud post in front of Luel, with both of her hands placed on the side of her hips and her head raised up high as if looking down on Luel. Or so Selene thought while, in fact, she looked like a small child acting all high and mighty in front of someone taller than her.

Luel managed to hold his laugh and continue to listen to Selene's words.

"As the Moon Avatar, I can see and watch all the Devour players who are fighting and doing their best to reclaim the Dark Gray World..."

Right at the end of their conversation, Selene once again congratulates Luel for his achievement.

"Congratulations on making it past the 50 percent Link Force boundary, Lucent."

Selene approaches and stands in front of Luel, so close that Selene's face is right in front of him. She then raises her right hand to cover Luel's eyes so he won't see anything.

"What are you doing, Selene?"

Even though Luel was surprised by Selene's action, he didn't act so rude as to remove Selene's hand that was covering his eyes.

"Just focus and listen to my voice, Lucent."

Luel just decided to follow Selene's request, thinking that it was probably one of Selene's Unique Dialogue Scenes that Amy had told him about.

"Whatever you will see after this, I hope you will keep on fighting, Lucent..."

"ARGHHH!!!..."

Luel wakes up screaming not because of pain due to his anxiety and panic attack but because of his fear of the nightmare that he has dreamed.

His heart rate has increased, reaching 200 pulse per minute.

As Luel endured the physical pain within his heart due to the unbelievable increase of his heart rate, his vision started to get blurry, his hearing became sensitive, and his breathing became so rough that it felt like there was no air inside his room.

Luel didn't even bother to drink his medicine. After all, there is something more important he needs to do.

He forces himself to get up from his bed and walk towards the door, heading outside his room. Yet his already suffering body only failed him, making him fall to the floor right in front of the door.

At that moment, the door of his room opens up, and Amy comes to his rescue.

But upon seeing Amy, Luel feels like his heart has finally given up and stopped beating.
