Conclusion Review

Hello, I’m Nariata.

I started serialization on March 16, 2021, and wrapped it up with an epilogue on June 21, 2023. It’s been a whopping 27 months. Feels unreal, right? Now that I’ve hit the finish mark, I’m feeling a mix of relief and bittersweet emotions.

Over the past 2 years and 3 months,
I honestly feel like I’ve been running around without a care in the world.
I think I’ve also grown a lot as a writer.

This was my first work titled “I Quit the Hero Party,” or “Yongpatdae” for short. It was my first time writing a novel this long and receiving this much response. Everything was so fresh and fascinating for me.

Really, everything felt like a wondrous adventure.
Receiving fan art, climbing up the rankings, creating illustrations, winning in popular votes hosted by platforms, holding sign events, and even getting a webtoon adaptation confirmed. Wow, it feels like I’ve received so much more than I deserve. So, thank you! I could fill this review with gratitude for you all, but that might just be a burden, so I’ll keep it short.

I’m always grateful!

Though it was tough, when I look back, I think those 2 years and 3 months of serialization were the brightest times in my life. In fact, “Yongpatdae” became a turning point for me, a moment of success in my life.

It’s not a particularly special story, but I once experienced the frustration of failing entrance exams and going through a year of re-studying.
I think my first encounter with web novels was around that time.

While my friends graduated high school, went to college, made military plans, and enjoyed life as twenty-year-olds, I found myself in a re-study academy. Looking back, it wasn’t that dire, but at that time, I felt anxious thinking I was falling behind.

Waking up at six, showering, heading to classes,
and returning to a cramped boarding house by ten, showering, and going straight to sleep—what a thrilling life!
There was zero fun, the vibe was gloomy, and no results were coming in, yet, relying on the vague hope that this time would pay off with a spot in a good university, I somehow endured day by day. Then one day, I stumbled upon web novels.

It was fun. Really fun!

During lunch breaks, everyone would eat at a restaurant under the academy, but I dashed back to my boarding house to read web novels on my phone. Two or three during lunch, another two or three in the evening, and I’d chew on those stories throughout my time at the academy.

Eventually, I opened my notebook and doodled the novel’s contents, trying my hand at writing. I did that more than a few times.

During those times, I found myself daydreaming. I want to write novels like this! I should try writing when I get to college. Let’s do some web novel serialization! Those fantasies led me to scribble various ideas in my notebook…
And while serializing “Yongpatdae,” that dream became a reality.

Honestly, the first time I got to monetize my work… I was overjoyed to call myself an author. I was so thrilled to think I achieved my dream. Maybe that’s why I poured my heart and soul into “Yongpatdae.”

I can’t say it’s the best, but

I genuinely believe I poured my all into “Yongpatdae.”

I was ambitious, wracking my brain to write. As a result, there may be gaps and scenes that not everyone loves, but I always strived to show the most entertaining story I could.

So when I wrote “The End” in the novel, I felt a sense of pride. I really made it this far! It’s a bit embarrassing, but I was quite proud of myself, hehe.

Once again,
thank you so much for being with me until now.

Thanks to all of you, I made it this far.
I love you, dear readers!

#As a side note,
The webtoon adaptation is going smoothly! I’ll share good news soon 😀

Also, I plan to take a two-month break before my next work. I have a few projects in mind, and here’s a brief rundown of what I’m thinking about:

1. A climbing story.

2. A tale of a mercenary wielding the “Spirit Blade” (the entity of the First Sword Saint) in a fantasy action epic.

3. A story about a mage who despises swords but discovers the talent of a Sword Master as a student at the Magic Academy, crying out in despair.

4. A story agent’s adventures wrapping up unfinished stories of stuck serialization.

I might pick one of these or end up with something completely different, or even combine all four into a mishmash! I plan to take my time over the next two months to consider.

Thanks for reading my rambling long post.
That’s it for the review!
