Quit being a knight and become a mercenary

chapter 12

12 – Overcoming the Formidable Enemy (1)

When I provoked Schmitz as much as I could, his face turned red and started screaming.

“Did you f*ck that little bastard with a rag in his mouth? I thought it was a girl who was f*cking snouting. Let’s see if you can keep talking about bullsh*t after this old man’s knife gets cut in half!”

Schmitz swung her huge two-handed sword at me.

When I first met him, the difference in skill between me and him was so great that I couldn’t follow his movements with my eyes.

So even with his eyes open, his sword seemed to disappear and reappear.

I used to be taken aback by his incredible attack speed, but now I could see most of his blade movements.

I realized that this is a world inside a game, realizing that I was chasing after his speedy attacks that I could not follow just a few days ago, but now I am chasing them to some extent.

If this was the real world, I wouldn’t have been able to grow to this extent in just a few days, no matter how many people I’ve killed and how much experience I’ve accumulated in the meantime.

“I fell asleep after saying the damn thing! Look at the big, distracted bastard talking like an immature girl. Your mother, who gave birth to you, would be ashamed to see you.”

He swung down with the sword raised above his head, then swerved to the side and aimed for the gap between my armor and helmet.

As it aimed at the narrow gap on the right side of the neck, it was quite sharp but powerful at the same time.

I saw the angle at which the huge two-handed sword that Schmitz was wielding came from, and swung it against his attack direction.

Aura, a powerful wave of power that allows humans to overcome their limits and fight against lions, tigers, and bears came from his sword and pierced my shoulder.

I haven’t been able to cast an aura yet, and my body, which has barely begun to feel the presence of an aura, can’t properly absorb the impact of this attack.

The attack on the gap between the armor he was aiming for missed, but the heavy impact of sword to sword contact was transmitted to the shoulder through the armor.

I only received one blow, but my arm and shoulder felt numb for a moment as if a cramp had appeared, and the hand and wrist holding the handle of the knife felt as if it had been hit with a hammer. .

“Ugh… f*ck. I’m going to numb and die in pain.”

Schmitz looked at me and looked at me with a questioning expression, saying, ‘Isn’t this bastard still dead after being hit with this?’, And the Tristan soldiers around me started to laugh at me.

“Where is the recruit bastard f*cking with our brother Schmitz!”

“The kiddo was terrifying and bluffed, and he looked good! Become a headless ghost!”

“The asshole bastard shook his clothes so damn well, my brother just fell out with a heavy blow, you handsome bastard!”

Those Tristan craps around me started lashing out at me, but I didn’t listen.

The moment I think I’ve lost my concentration, Schmitz in front of me will notice and swing his sword like lightning to strike, and then my neck will fall off my shoulder and roll away in an instant.

So I ignored the sounds around me and focused as much as I could on the baby human boar standing in front of me.

Perhaps it was because he was still at a low level, he couldn’t hear or see even the smallest things like Schmitz’s every breath or the minute movements of his muscles, as the game says.

I could tell that an aura that was roughly thought to be an aura was flowing through his body, and I could clearly see every little movement he made.

“When I first saw you, I thought you were a bastard bastard who was bluffing and bragging about everything he knew because he was drunk with his skills.

“Even if this old man looks like this, he is a crazy guy who started as a low-level mercenary and came out after beating all of them to get a big success in the countryside.”

Schmitz laughed at my words, then raised his sword and swung it again.

“Don’t f*ck with me, son of a b*tch! No matter how much bravado you have, you have to say something that makes sense! Who kicks out the f*cking knight position and starts with the lowest mercenary? As a reward for talking nonsense and making this old man laugh, I’ll blow his f*cking throat!”

With the sound of a ‘bong’ cutting through the wind, his sword flew aiming at my left waist.

Your aura won’t cut through my armor…

He probably thought of shocking his body to stop his movements and killing him.

As expected, it is a great attack like a skilled mercenary who rises from a low-level mercenary to a platoon leader and even handles auras, albeit clumsily.

What it looks like, what the f*ck, it looks like a wild boar in the mountains, and the momentum of its attacks is as sharp as a hawk.

“If you’re thinking about meeting Martin, you’ll have to wash your filthy neck before you come out, you’re a well-mannered wild boar! A dirty bastard who came out without washing properly because he didn’t know manners! I’m afraid that the musty smell will cut through your armor when this Martin carries you by the neck, so I’m worried about that from now on, you wild boar!”

“Anyway, you bastard is damn good at flirting! Wasn’t the only thing you learned from being born to your mother, making fun of your mouth like a girl?”

I firmly gripped my sword, determined to block his sword for sure this time.

The texture of the deer skin wrapped around the handle of the sword was clearly conveyed from the clenched fist. In that state, the tip of the sword lay at an angle.

When Schmitz’s heavy blow flew towards it, I felt a tingling sensation in my hand.

“Ugh.”

Inadvertently, a small moan came out of my mouth, but I concentrated my strength by squeezing every muscle in my body, including my arms, waist, legs, and feet.

‘I will definitely kill that son of a b*tch today. Last time, I suffered the humiliation of not being able to kill him because I lacked my strength, but this time it’s different. I must kill him.’

Then, after killing him, he imagined a future where he would be praised by the other mercenaries, including Captain Fjord, and a scene where Karin and Karin got closer together through this opportunity.

“You f*cking f*cking Schmitz! Hell, the only thing I have to offer in life is a bastard who has nothing but a body the size of a wild boar!”

When I blocked the attack for the first time earlier, the shock I received was great even though I gave it strength to my whole body.

As soon as I got that feeling, my heart beat quickened and I started running wildly.

The wonder of my rapid growth in combat power, the confidence that I can really do it, and the thrill of being a victor are all mixed together.

And while exchanging swords with him, I felt that the energy consumed was strengthened beyond simply being filled.

It is said that there is a phenomenon called ‘runner’s high’ in which a runner who meets the limit of physical strength while running a marathon keeps running beyond the limit with only willpower, and his breathing, stamina and pulse stabilize before he knows it…

I’ve only fought him for a few minutes, and I’ve only survived a severe shock twice, so there’s no way I’ll have that kind of effect on my body…

‘Now, it seems my body has awakened to its aura.’

And as if to prove that thought was correct, I raised my sword and properly blocked the blow that added speed to the tremendous power he threw again.

“It’s a baby who looks like a wild boar. Saying I’m a dick, I fell asleep at the sound of baguette sides exploding.”

If I were completely equal to him, I would have fought back immediately after blocking the attack, but it wasn’t that far this time either.

Schmitz glared at me with a more relaxed expression than before, as if he was shocked that I had fully received his attack.

“Huh, was there a lot of wicked rice? Originally, I don’t fight with all my strength against newcomers, but now I have to work hard to use it. You f*cking bastard son of a b*tch.”

At that, I raised my middle finger and mocked him.

“What the f*ck, are you making excuses in advance because you think you’ll get hit? Are you a weak, crappy bastard?”

It’s okay for him to make fun of others, but he seems to be a person who can’t stand being ridiculed in reverse.

I quickly swung my sword with much stronger momentum.

If I had received an attack of this speed the first time I aimed my sword at him, I would have probably died on the spot.

‘But this body has now become an aura awakened, a bastard that looks like an orc who has grown fat like a wild boar.’

After holding the sword, I saw it in the fantasy novels I read many times in my previous life.

Remembering the image of sending blood to the whole body as the heart beats, I thought that the same aura that is perceived as being in my body is sent to the whole body.

According to the aura technique Martin had learned before, he inhaled and exhaled slowly but heavily.

At that moment, I felt the magical energy in the air flowing into my body.

If until recently my limit had been to block it with force obliquely, now I was convinced that I would be able to block its attack from the front as well.

As expected, I was able to receive his more powerful blow without difficulty.

Without stopping there, in order to see the real match, I took a step forward and imitated Schmitz’s blow earlier while swinging my sword in the same trajectory.

“Die, the enemy of the platoon of the Max!”

The Bastard Sword, a relatively light sword that I wielded with both one and two hands, was stopped by Schmitz’s huge two-handed sword.

‘Kang’

There was a sound of steel colliding with steel, and sparks flew at the same time.

Then, the sword Schmitz was holding and the sword I was holding were thrown out by the repulsive force in the opposite direction to the forward direction.

However, with the determination to kill each other, we brushed off the burden on our hands and immediately swung our swords again.
