Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law

Chapter 252 Ingenious, Earth-Shattering (3)_1

Julia Bluen shouted very loudly, and in her urgency, all the couples around them cast curious and suggestive glances her way.

"The sun is setting. Let's go; it's time to take Grandma home." Julia Bluen, feeling embarrassed, struggled to her feet and also pulled Glades Horne up with an abrupt movement, though her voice was low.

Having gotten the answer he wanted, Young Master Horne was naturally pleased and immediately wrapped his arm around her as they headed toward where the old lady was seated.

"Don't cling to me; loosen your grip a bit."

"I like having my arm around you."

"Always clinging. Don't you get tired of it? You're as sticky as taffy!"

"I don't get tired of it. Do you? Why don't we switch? Then you won't get tired."

"How do we switch?"

"You put your arm around me."

"That thick waist of yours? Who'd want to hug that?"

"You would."

"Who said I liked it?"

"I did. See? Aren't you hugging me right now?"

"Rascal!"

"Other women wish I'd be a rascal to them, but they don't get the chance."

"Then go find those other women."

"I have a wife. Why would I go looking for other women?"

"I'll be keeping an eye out."

"Keeping an eye out for what?" Glades Horne suddenly asked, a hint of worry in his voice, ending their natural, warm, and amusing banter.

"Keeping an eye out for a debate competition, or a rascal competition. I'll sign you up and guarantee your notoriety will spread far and wide. HEH HEH..." Julia Bluen trailed off, bursting into laughter.

She was increasingly enjoying this kind of banter with Glades Horne. Each sentence flowed into her heart like a warm current. He's such an outstanding man. If I don't fall in love with him, I'd be the world's biggest fool.

"HEH HEH." Glades Horne also started to laugh.

The couple walked toward the old lady, talking and laughing. Before long, they were helping her leave the beach.

With the couple gone, the setting sun suddenly seemed to dim, and the waves roared as if unwilling to let them go.

On the way back, Julia Bluen had intended to accompany the old lady in Uncle Ying's car. However, Glades Horne's expression darkened, and he glared at Uncle Ying. How unfair! Uncle Ying protested inwardly. It's not my fault! I'm just a humble driver. The Young Mistress is the one who wants to accompany the Old Lady!

"Julia, look at Glades! His fierce glare is nearly scaring Uncle Ying to death. You should just go in Glades's car. Aunt May and I will go with Uncle Ying. Don't let us three old chaperones get in your way," the old lady teased with a smile. She let Aunt May help her into the car and firmly closed the door, refusing to let Julia Bluen accompany her.

"Uncle Ying, you can drive now," the old lady then instructed.

Uncle Ying couldn't wait to get out of the Young Master's sight; this master of his seemed to grow more intimidating by the day.

The Young Mistress is the Young Master's Achilles' heel.

"Domineering jerk!" Julia Bluen muttered petulantly, then turned and got into Glades Horne's car.

Glades Horne didn't speak. His lips were pressed into a line, yet the corners quirked upward in an obvious smile of amusement.

After leaving the beach, he didn't take Julia Bluen home right away. Instead, he took out his phone, made a call, and gave some instructions.

When his car pulled up to the Emperor hotel, Julia Bluen finally understood what he had been discussing on the phone.

In front of the Emperor hotel lay a vast, crimson sea of roses. Countless roses were held by people, arranged to form words. Each person held a large bouquet high above their head, the brilliant, vivid red of the flowers instantly capturing everyone's attention. From above, the roses spelled out the words: "Julia Bluen, I love you."

The men holding the roses were all in matching black suits and were of similar height, evidently chosen with great care for this task.

Whether it was passersby or people dining in the hotel, everyone's gaze was captivated by the sight.

Glades Horne's car came to a stop in the parking lot.

Hansen Ruiz appeared as if from nowhere, carrying a huge bunch of roses—ninety-nine stems, he'd estimated. He approached Glades Horne and Julia Bluen, stuffed the bouquet into Glades's arms, and said with a mix of amusement and irritation, "This is the last bunch of roses in the city—luckily, exactly ninety-nine. Also, next time you plan any romantic gestures, please give me at least two hours' notice! Don't pull a last-minute stunt like this again. You had me mobilize everyone to snatch up every rose from all the flower shops in the city in record time. People who didn't know any better probably thought I was the one making some grand gesture!"

It turned out that Glades Horne had called Hansen Ruiz earlier, instructing him to prepare this vast sea of roses and arrange them into words to express his profound love for Julia Bluen—an unprecedentedly romantic gesture that would shock the entire city.

"If you can't even handle this small task, you might as well go back to the Ruiz Family," Glades Horne said bluntly.

"Heartless brute," Hansen Ruiz mumbled, rubbing his nose. This guy! He has no idea how much effort I put into his grand romantic gesture, and he calls it a 'small task'! Honestly, besides me, Hansen Ruiz, who else could possibly round up all the roses from every flower shop in the city and find so many men of the exact same height to create this human-floral formation on such short notice?

Noticing Julia Bluen standing next to Glades Horne, gazing in amazement at the sea of roses, Hansen Ruiz chuckled again. "Madam, your man had me meticulously prepare this for you. Do you like it?"

"Mind your own business. Get lost," Glades Horne, his handsome face darkening, snapped coolly. What does he mean, *he* carefully prepared it for Julia? The idea was mine! *I*, Glades Horne, meticulously planned this for Julia. That loudmouth Hansen Ruiz just ran the errands, using his usual lightning speed. He'd better not try to steal my credit!

"Madam, see? How heartless he is! That's how he treats me, the person who helped him so much—not a shred of gratitude," Hansen Ruiz continued, teasing shamelessly.

"Hansen Ruiz!"

"Alright, alright, I won't be a third wheel anymore. I'll just copy your move and hopefully win over the woman in my heart," Hansen Ruiz said with a smile, taking the hint and making his exit.
