Chapter 207: Wine Party (3)_1
"Grandma, I'm sorry I can't keep you company again tonight," Julia Bluen said apologetically, knowing the old lady felt lonely.
The old lady patted the back of her hand and smiled affectionately. "Grandma is used to it. Don't say sorry; as long as Grandma knows you care, that's enough. Alright, it's getting late; you two should head out now. Glades," the old lady then turned to Glades Horne and instructed, "remember to turn on the heat. Don't let Julia get cold."
Glades Horne acknowledged with a faint smile.
Even without Grandma's reminder, he wouldn't let Julia get cold.
Seen off by the old lady and Aunt Mei, the young couple, accompanied by two Bodyguards, got into the prestigious Rolls-Royce and left the Horne Family villa.
The Windsor Family villa was located in Blue Sky Garden, the same residential area as Uncle Orlando Evans's villa, though in a different section. The two villas were so far apart they were completely out of sight of each other.
The Windsor Family villa also covered nearly a thousand square meters, arguably making it the largest one in Blue Sky Garden.
In the dark night, the Windsor Family villa was brightly lit, illuminated as if it were day. Figures bustled about both inside and outside the house. Most men were in formal business suits, with some in black tuxedos, while all the women wore evening gowns of various styles and colors. The villa was a vibrant scene of fragrant perfumes and elegant attire.
The open space before the entrance and the open-air parking lot in the Yard were filled with all sorts of luxury cars, resembling an automotive exhibition. The Windsor Family hosts were all busy entertaining guests, while servants weaved through the crowd, carrying trays laden with cocktails.
Inside the house, fine wines, delectable cuisine, and an array of exquisite desserts awaited the guests.
Business tycoons and small company owners alike had all come, many uninvited. They were there firstly to show respect to Old Mr. Windsor, and secondly, to seize the opportunity at this Wine Party to attract major clients for their companies or to network with influential figures. Indeed, everyone present had an agenda.
Married women dressed with dignified elegance. They chose their fabrics with extreme care, hoping their attire would add to their husbands' prestige and subtly declare the success of their own marriages—a sort of unspoken beauty contest. The unmarried women, on the other hand, spared no effort on their evening gowns and makeup. They aimed to be the center of attention, hoping to attract wealthy, unmarried elites and secure a 'golden rice bowl' for their future.
Around eight o'clock in the evening, Glades Horne's Rolls-Royce appeared at the Windsor Family villa.
Everyone was familiar with Glades Horne's car, and upon its arrival, all eyes instinctively turned to follow it. Old Mr. Windsor even came out of the house himself to greet them.
The car found a spot in the parking lot within the Yard. Even amidst a sea of luxury cars, Glades Horne's vehicle stood out. Though there was more than one Rolls-Royce present, his car undeniably stole the show.
The car door opened, and two tall, sturdy Bodyguards in impeccable black suits stepped out first. Wade Coleman then opened the car door for Glades Horne. Glades stepped out with elegance and composure, then walked around the car to open the door for Julia Bluen. As Julia emerged, he proactively extended his arm, inviting her to take it.
The pair, one in black and the other in white, were strikingly eye-catching. Furthermore, Glades Horne's status made him the most sought-after figure in T City's business world. Young, handsome, capable, and from a distinguished lineage—everything about him ensured he was the center of attention at any gathering.
Few people knew Julia Bluen; only those from the most elite families were acquainted with her. This was primarily because she disliked attending commercially-oriented Wine Parties and maintained a low profile, making her somewhat of a mysterious figure. Her wedding to Glades Horne had been a private affair, so those unfamiliar with her were quite surprised to see her arriving on his arm.
Those who did know her and saw her with Glades Horne—some of whom were already aware of her new status—were not surprised. Instead, they felt the couple looked like a prince and princess straight out of a fairy tale: exquisitely beautiful, captivating, and a perfect match. As for those unaware of her new status but who knew how much Glades Horne doted on her, her appearance wasn't overly shocking. They merely wondered if Ruby Bluen would be jealous if she saw this.
With two Bodyguards clearing the path ahead, the couple advanced towards the Main House like an Emperor and Empress, radiating an aura of immense grace and splendor.
"Mr. Horne..."
During the short, few-minute walk from the Yard to the Main House, numerous company heads greeted Glades Horne, their faces wreathed in smiles.
The other women, however, glared at Julia Bluen with a mixture of jealousy and resentment. Julia's tall, slender figure, accentuated by her white evening gown, made her as exquisitely beautiful as a Snow White Princess. Standing beside the tall Glades Horne, she almost overshadowed him.
What incited their deepest envy, however, was seeing Julia Bluen holding Glades Horne's arm. Glades Horne—ah, he was the dream man for countless unmarried women. He had always maintained his integrity, a true anomaly in Upper Class Society. Aside from the Bluen sisters, no other woman had ever managed to get close to him. His self-respect, even more than his illustrious background, made him incredibly desirable to these women.
They all enjoyed affluent lifestyles; what they truly lacked was a man who wasn't a promiscuous socializer or a philanderer.
"Glades, you're here!" Old Mr. Windsor greeted him, taking a few steps forward with a hearty chuckle, his elderly face radiant. Before Old Mr. Windsor retired from the business world, Glades Horne had already entered it. The elder and the younger man had crossed paths before; Glades Horne held him in high esteem, and he, in turn, had a special liking for Glades. From their very first meeting, he had recognized that this young man was no ordinary talent. Facts had since proven his judgment correct; Glades Horne's current standing in the business world now far surpassed his own.
"Old Mr. Windsor, I wish you longevity comparable to the Southern Mountains and blessings as vast as the Eastern Sea," Glades Horne offered with a faint smile.
The two Bodyguards presented the valuable gifts he had prepared, which members of the Windsor Family quickly accepted.
"Old Mr. Windsor, I also wish you longevity comparable to the Southern Mountains and blessings as vast as the Eastern Sea," Julia Bluen added with a gentle smile, offering her own good wishes.
"Little Julia! You and Glades... this truly caught me by surprise!" Old Mr. Windsor chuckled. He was clearly acquainted with Julia Bluen, whom he affectionately called 'Little Julia,' and was well aware of her relationship with Glades Horne. "But then again," he added in a thoughtful, meaningful tone, "it's also somewhat within expectations."
