Chapter 17: Kiyoshi's New Nightmare

16th of July, Monday. (4 days until the festival)

Kiyoshi's POV:

Today's been a strangely normal day.

First of all, Chiyo came back to classes. At first, I was a bit scared of approaching her, especially after our conversations, but during lunch almost everyone reached her.

"Chiyo-dono! Yours truly is in great shame! To miss your birthday and not being able to let you experience PBR-sama's greatness!" Gakuto said while lowering his head.

"Yeah! We're sorry! We tried our best to make it there but the river was deeper than we thought!" Shingo added.

"I-It's okay, the fact is that you tried your best! Please raise your head Gakuto-kun!" Chiyo looked a bit embarrassed by the attention she was receiving.

"Hey… If everything goes well *cough*, you'll have a VIP pass to sit on it"

"Yeah, that's more like it!" Anzu seemed happy about Joe's words.

She apparently also talked to the members of the ASC. She found out about both councils working together, so Kate wanted to 'mend' things between them, saying she was sorry about attacking the original PBR and for sending her to prison. They seemed to fix things pretty fast though, she even had time to get to know Risa-san and Mitsuko-san a bit better. What can I say? Chiyo's an angel afterall…

And even though things are clearly not like before between us, we still had lunch on the same table as I helped her catch up with some classes.

So things seem to be working up pretty well between us. I hope Hana-san thinks the same…

On the other hand, it seems the only thing holding my libido back was my situation with Chiyo-chan. Yesterday, after that crazy dream I had, I had the best night of sleep of my life… And now… At today's meeting, I could help but glance at every members' breasts. I know this is bad of me, but I felt like I've been holding this since… The sports festival? I don't know, I just feel like girls that aren't Chiyo just didn't turn me on, until now… B-But this is just something momentaneous, as soon as Chiyo and I get closer again, I'll leave this side of mine!

I also feel like… Something that was wrong with me got fixed… Like my head finally started working at full power again… Maybe this started in the festival, after my masculinity got exposed to every girl in school, because right now, I feel shame once again.

I also started feeding Cora, the small crow I 'adopted'. She's been really helpful at taking away my stress for today, not to mention she follows me everywhere too.

And as far as the festival goes, we got almost everything finished. All of the script should be finished and revised by tomorrow, as well as both costumes and props. We got the permission of the acting club that will be performing after us, to do whatever we want. We just have to practice a little more and we'll be fine. Not to mention that every other big thing for the event is pretty much done, with the exception of Joe's cafe, but that's not the priority so it should be fine!

So, everything's going pretty good, right?

I thought the same thing… Until…

"Yo, Kiyoshi!" Shingo spoke to me. "Are your parents coming this friday?"

"Huh? I told them that they shouldn't come so… I'll guess no"

"Hmm? Kiyoshi-dono, you never mentioned your family before, how are they?" He turned to Shingo. "Did you have the chance to meet them, Shingo-dono?"

"Yeah! In middle-school, they are a pretty funny couple!" Shingo said with a smirk

"No, they aren't" I said as densely as possible. "I rather not see them until new year's eve or after graduation"

"Mmm? Do you have a bad relationship with them?" Joe joined the conversation.

"I-It's not that… They are just… Too much to handle…"

The boys, except for Shingo, gave me confused looks.

"It's a shame, I think it would be way funnier if they came" Shingo said. "Did you call them to tell them not to come?"

"No, I sent them an email at the computer lab, why?"

"I was going to ask you to lend me your phone to talk to them- Wait, why didn't you email them through your phone?"

"H-Huh? I can do that?"

"D-Dude, you have like a small computer in your pocket, and you didn't try sending an email through there?"

"I-I'm not that good with technology, I gotta say" I said a little ashamed.

"Yours truly will teach you, Kiyoshi-dono!"

As the others continued their work, Gakuto and I took a small break so he could teach me more about my new phone.

As I unlocked it, the chat between Hana and I appeared.

"A-Ah sorry, I was talking with Hana-san before…"

"Mmm… Yours truly is still surprised at how close you got with the USC's members"

"I-It's nothing like that! It's just work! haha!" I said with a nervous chuckle as I tried to close the messaging app, but then I remembered…

"K-Kiyoshi-dono? Why did you jump backwards"

"S-Sorry, I just don't want you to read my chats haha"

I forgot! As my libido came back and with my new phone, I tried watching some porn vids… I forgot to close them… That was close…

"H-Here! Now it's okay!"

Gakuto gave a strange glare to me, but proceeded nonetheless. As he was teaching me the basics of how to use a phone, we finally got into the email parts of it.

"So this is the way you get into the email app, here are your sent emails and here are your dra-" Gakuto stopped as he scrolled through my phone.

"H-Huh, what is it?"

"K-Kiyoshi–dono, d-did you…"

"D-Did I what?"

"You didn't send the email to your parents! You saved it as a draft!" Gakuto looked at me worriedly, and for a good reason. I felt sweat drops fall down my forehead.

This is bad. This must have been caused by all those bad omens building up.

I'm the unluckiest person ever.

My parents are definitely coming to the festival.

End of Kiyoshi's POV.

Kate's POV:

As everyday, around 5 PM, I go to Meiko-chan's office to leave her some paperwork or to see how she's doing. After that, I go to my council's office and resume my work here.

As I reached my first destination, I got into the room just to be greeted by two boys reading their scripts. One of them seemed pretty enthusiastic about their practice, while the other one seemed a bit… worried about something.

"Ah! Kiyoshi-kun, Gakuto-kun, good evening!"

"Ah! Kate-dono! It's a pleasure to see you today! How's your day been?" Gakuto said with a cheerful smile. He seemed pretty happy about something.

"G-Good evening Kate-san…" Kiyoshi on the other hand seemed sad about something.

"I-I see… You are practicing, right? How's it going?"

"Indeed. Our scripts are excellent if I'm allowed to say so! I think with our spectacular acting skills we will be able to give a great performance!" 

"Y-Yeah, it's going good, I just hope we don't mess it up somehow"

"Have you given everyone their roles and everything?" I asked in a curious tone.

"Y-Yeah, Gakuto, Shingo, Joe, Risa-san, Andre, Hana-san you and I will be acting, the president will be in charge of both presenting and helping on the backstage, with help of Anzu-san"

"Hmm?" I noticed how someone was missing. "What about Mitsuko-san? Did you not ask for her help?"

As I asked my question, Gakuto, who was in a really good mood, suddenly changed into a gloomy one.

"Y-Yours truly… Can't ask her for something like that… Not after what I've done…"

"H-Huh, what do you mean, Gakuto-kun?"

"U-Uhm… Yours truly had some issues with Mitsuko-dono… A-And now I'm sure she hates me…"

Mmm… I guess that explains why she wasn't hanging out so frequently with him like before… Maybe I should help them sort things out?...

"Gakuto-kun, would you do me a favor?"

"E-Eh? S-Surely!"

"Would you call Mitsuko-san to come here? I want to assign her some work for the play too. If you tell her I'm the one calling her, she'll surely understand"

"K-Kate-dono, I can-"

"Don't worry, use this as an opportunity to ask for her forgiveness, will you?"

After a small pause and him looking a bit anxious, his face filled with resolve. He nodded and stormed off, leaving Kiyoshi and I alone in the room.

"And so… What's your problem?"

"Hmm? Ah… Nothing, it's just that… I'm a bit nervous…"

"Nervous, why's that?"

"In the festival someone really… Important to me will be, probably, watching my every move… I-I don't want to fuck it up… So I'm a bit nervous…"

Someone… Important to him? Ah… Maybe he's talking about Hana-san? I know she's going to be one of the waitresses in the cafe as well as the princess… Maybe he wants to impress her or something?... I don't really know what kind of relationship these two have but…

"H-Have you… fought them or something?"

"E-Eh? N-No… It's not that… But I'm always embarrassed whenever I'm with them and… I just… I don't know… Maybe I want to get closer to them?"

"..."

"S-Sorry, I just said something weird, I'll-"

"No, it's not weird at all" I stopped him. "I understand completely… If that's the case, I'll help you however you want"

"R-Really? That would be great, Kate-san!"

As I left, a bit worried about not seeing Meiko around, I wondered about my last chat with Mari. 

Meiko told me she sent the video to Mari, and to our surprise, she said she really liked it, saying that she 'would love to hear it live one day'. Just thinking of that I can't help but blush a bit.

When I reached our office, I heard some familiar voices inside. I opened the door to find Hana and Risa practicing their scripts too.

"Mmm… You don't seem to have any problems with this, Hana…"

"T-Thanks… I've always been good at handling audiences, I guess"

"Good evening, you two!" I said enthusiastically.

"Good evening, Kate-san" Hana said in a polite way.

"Hey there" Risa greeted me the normal way.

"I see you two are practicing as well… How's it going?"

"W-Well… I'm doing my best but I still don't like the idea… But if it's for the school…" Risa said with a small blush.

"Huh? School? You're doing this for your pig, aren't you?" Hana said with a grin.

"I told you not to call him like that, bitch!" 

Ah… I guess it will take a bit more to make these two get along, right?

"How about you, Kate?" Risa looked at me.

"A-Ah well… I've been doing my best but… I guess I have to practice a bit more…"

"I thought you were good at handling this sort of stuff" Hana looked at me with a blank face.

"I-I am! It's just that… I-I've been a bit stressed out with everything going on recently, that is…"

With Mari's call and trying to fix my relationship with everyone in school, I've been having a hard time focusing on learning the script… But the school needs me so…

"Guess I'll have to read it again" I said as I sat on our stiff couch, the one I've learned to love in the last months…

"I see… Then I'm sorry to interrupt but I'll get going" Risa said slowly, getting blushed with a small smile on her face. "I-I've got things to do…"

"I-I see, then have fun, Risa-san!"

"Bye" Hana said without getting her eyes off her script.

And just like that… I was left alone with someone else again… In the past, I tried to make friends with Hana. True, it was part of my plan, but having her as a friend didn't and doesn't sound bad at all… I just feel like she doesn't trust me at all…

…

And so… Silence grew in the room.

… But if there was something I was known for… Is being the one to light up the room.

"Hana-san, I would like to say something to you, if you don't mind"

"... Go ahead" She said while glancing at me, only to return to the papers in her hands.

"I know we started talking with the wrong foot but… If anything ever happens or you need help with… I'll gladly do whatever I can…" I tried being as straightforward as possible.

"..."

D-Damn it… Maybe I was too forward… I should have given it some more time…

Ah… I guess she won't trust me that easily… Granted, I deserve it for trying to manipulate her in the past, but-

"... T–Then… Can I ask you for a suggestion?"

W-Well… That was quick… and unexpected

"S-Sure! What is it?"

"...Y-You see… I've been trying my best to be like someone… But it seems like I just can't be like her… I'm trying to mimic everything they do the best way I can but… nothing seems to work… I just can't be like her…"

As I heard Hana speak, I felt my hands trembling slightly, only to with time, clunch my hand into a fist.

"Hana" I looked at her as seriously as possible. "You don't have to be anyone else but you" I said the clearest way possible.

"H-Huh?"

"S-Sorry… I mean… Don't force yourself to be someone you are not…"

"... A-Ah… I see… Thanks, Kate"

…

T-That was a bit awkward but… Hana is smiling while blushing… Maybe I did help her…

…

Maybe… Just Maybe… I should do something more… This way, I'll understand what love is…

… Yes… I may have to get myself into things I shouldn't but… This way I'll learn about love and help my new friends at the same time!

Gakuto's POV:

Indeed… I've been assigned a task from Kate-dono herself, but… It seems impossible for me to accomplish it…

I stood in front of the library where Mitsuko-dono and I used to hang out, before the incident in the office that is…

However… This is an opportunity not only granted by Kate-dono… But by PBR-sama! I shall comply with the doing of my god… And be strong enough to-

"Hey, what are you doing there, Gakuto-kun?"

A familiar voice talked from behind my back, sending chills to my back. I slowly turned my back to find a tall and gorgeous brunette lady.

"B-Bitch-dono… Y-Yours truly is happy to see you!"

"Hmmm? Is that so?" She said with a serious face. "Were you looking for someone?"

"A-Ah, how perceptive! Indeed, I was looking for Mitsuko-dono! I have to-"

"Nope, denied" She quickly answered my words.

"W-What? What do you mean by 'denied'?"

"Mitsuko-chan doesn't want to see you, prick. You think you can just hurt your feelings and then just appear out of nowhere acting like nothing happened?"

"N-Nay! I just have some stuff to debate with her about the festival! T-That is!"

"The festival you say?" She said while looking at me. "... Fine, but I'll stay by the side of you two" She said with a smirk on her face.

"F-For sure!"

As we two entered the school library, we found Mitsuko-dono sitting on a table reading a book about the Three Kingdoms, small papers full of… adult drawings could be seen next to her.

"A-Ah, Bitch-san, you finally-" Mitsuko's beautiful smile disappeared as soon as she saw me. "... What's he doing here?"

"M-Mitsuko-dono, I-"

"Kate-san sent her here, he says he has something to tell you"

"Mm? Kate-san? Is that true, Gakuto?" As Mitsuko changed directions from Bitch to me, her smile changed to a dark serious face.

"I-Indeed! I'm here in order to ask you to join us in the play!"

"Mm? Oh, that's right, I heard you guys were planning something like that… Was it "Rapunzel" or something like that? lol" Bitch added with a slight smile. I nodded.

"Oh… Joe-kun told me about it, but unless someone else watches over the cafe, I won't be able to help you"

"A-Ah… I see… Yours truly will inform Kate-san immediately! S-Sorry to bother!" I said as I ran to the door, only to be stopped by Bitch herself.

"Hey… Don't you have something to say?" She looked at me with anger, yet a hint of sadness could be seen on her face.

Before they could react, I was already kneeling with my head touching the floor.

"YOURS TRULY IS DEEPLY SORRY! MY ACTIONS ARE NOT WORTHY OF A KING! THUS I ACCEPT BOTH YOUR REJECTION AND ANGER!"

Bitch just looked surprised at me with a small blush… While Mitsuko…

"... I'll see you at the festival…"

She didn't even look at me, her head looking straight up to the books on the shelf in front of her.

"... Y-Yes, Sayonara…"

I glanced at the two of them for a second, shame running through my body.

[...]

I left the library with my head hanging down.

Indeed… I deserve this… My actions are not worthy of looking at Guan Yu's face anymore… 

Oh, PBR-sama… Shall your punishment for my actions be this… I'll accept them…

Before I could say anything, a red haired girl appeared in front of me.

"Hey, Gakuto-kun! I wanted to talk to you!" Kate looked at me with a smile.

"Kate-dono… Yours truly is ashamed to say I couldn't get Mitsuko-dono's help for the festival, she seems rather busy"

"I-Is that so? That's why you look so sad?"

I didn't answer, I just glared at the wall beside us.

Kate looked at me, apparently thinking about something.

"Well… It's a shame…but, I may have a plan to get her to join us… and in so, to talk to you~" She said with a smirk. I felt my face light up with excitement… But then I remembered it was Kate-dono who I was doing business with.

"Y-Yours truly would love that but… I know that must have a price, Kate-dono…"

"And you don't want to talk to her?"

"I-Indeed, I want!..." I started thinking about every possibility…and reached a conclusion…

If anyone could help me with this… That would be Mitsuko's best friend, wouldn't it?...

"Listen, I will not only make sure Mitsuko-chan helps you with your play, but I'll make sure you two talk things out, what do you say?"

"... W-What would you like in exchange…?"

"Well…" Kate gave me a grin while putting both her hands together and slightly blushing. "How about… a kiss?"

"...E-EH?!"
