Chapter 449: Lamborghini

The sun shines brightly on a clear day.

Having been in New York for half a month, Lu Wanting is holding up a high sign. During the months she has worked, Lu Wanting has gotten used to workplace life, often wearing a small suit with a short skirt, sometimes paired with stockings and high heels.

In the past two weeks, Lu Wanting has found rare comfort.

Wearing a white shirt with canvas jeans, paired with white sneakers, 24-year-old Lu Wanting still has a sense of maturity.

When she saw Zhou Yuwen and Su Qing approaching together, she was somewhat surprised: "Zhou, Zhou Yuwen? You too?"

This was surprising because Zhou Yuwen and Lu Wanting had only discussed Su Qing coming here to adapt to life, and hadn't informed her that he would also be coming.

Faced with Lu Wanting's curiosity, Zhou Yuwen simply smiled and asked: "Why? Can't I?"

Lu Wanting couldn't help but laugh and said: "No, of course, you can."

Lu Wanting was driving a rented car, from a brand Zhou Yuwen and Su Qing had never heard of, but it looked a bit like a Beetle, more compact than a Beetle.

It felt like the back seat could barely accommodate two people.

Su Qing brought four or five large suitcases, which couldn't fit in the trunk. Two had to be put on the rear seats, then Zhou Yuwen sat in the passenger seat while Su Qing reluctantly sat in the back.

Feeling the pinch of this cramped situation was rare after achieving financial freedom. Lu Wanting also felt a bit embarrassed as she explained while driving to Zhou Yuwen that she didn't know he would be coming.

"In principle, this car is enough for Su Qing and me."

Zhou Yuwen expressed understanding. Although he is financially free, he hasn't reached the pinnacle of the financial pyramid. He provided Su Qing with about five million for her study abroad, though, this money wasn't given all at once, rather Lu Wanting was provided with an overdraft credit card.

However, rental cars for a single occasion like this are certainly not extravagant.

Lu Wanting's study abroad life is like most international students, living more practically abroad, saving whenever possible.

There are generally two types of students studying abroad. One type comes from particularly wealthy families, who spend lavishly here, owning villas and luxury homes, with endless parties every day.

The other group, the majority, are fairly ordinary. Though their families might be considered wealthy domestically, and their parents provide them with ample living expenses, overseas it doesn't prevent their tightened budgets.

The car unknowingly arrived in a residential area.

This is the homestay Lu Wanting arranged for Su Qing. The living environment abroad is indeed somewhat better than at home, with sprawling lawn areas and independent western-style houses scattered around.

Common broad-leaved trees were planted in rows alongside the asphalt road.

While driving, Lu Wanting mused about her past study abroad experiences, saying that in a capitalist society, everything revolves around money, and people tend to be realistic.

You can command anyone you meet, of course, as long as you have enough money.

Driving from the airport to the homestay took a total of four hours; when they left the airport, it was still morning.

Now it was already two o'clock in the afternoon.

A rather nice detached building.

After parking the car, Su Qing took her luggage and got out.

"Let me do it." Lu Wanting took the luggage from Su Qing's hands.

The two girls had a minor dispute over the luggage. Both were capable and willing to help; Su Qing insisted she could manage it herself.

Lu Wanting laughed, saying that previously they were friends.

But now, they are in an employment relationship.

"You're my boss; it's my duty to help you with your luggage." Lu Wanting smiled and winked, making Su Qing feel quite embarrassed.

Zhou Yuwen did not join their banter; he didn't bother taking any luggage but instead looked around the surroundings, noting there wasn't much difference from foreign places.

The architectural style was somewhat different, but domestic areas with similar streets exist.

Lu Wanting went over and knocked on the door, which was opened by another girl with an Eastern face.

About eighteen or nineteen years of age, tall and slim, with typical Asian features, black hair, and eyes.

Her appearance was quite striking, wearing a light green tank top exposing her midriff, paired with white pants.

She said impatiently: "You finally arrived; weren't you supposed to come by noon? The landlord has been waiting for you for a long time."

Lu Wanting apologized with a smile, explaining they hadn't anticipated the distance from the airport to be so far.

The girl couldn't be bothered with Lu Wanting's explanation, merely continued complaining that the landlord had gone out, offering to introduce the house's environment.

She proceeded to lead Lu Wanting and Su Qing through each area—the living room, dining room, kitchen, refrigerator, and their separate rooms.

Everything was divided into public and private zones, even the refrigerator, which was separated into three levels: one for the landlord's use, the second for Julian, the girl from Hong Kong, and the third, empty one reserved for Su Qing.

The landlord is a 30-year-old Eastern woman, a third-generation Chinese American, divorced.

Currently, the house only accommodates two students, one is Julian, and the other is Su Qing who will be moving in.
