Primordial Wolf TVD

Chapter 20: 20.) Creation of the cobalt pack

Authors note: the making of more wolves.

I'm loving this fic and can't wait to get into the originals. I'll be doing the episodic thing for that one. Still trying to come up with forsures about how I want Bonnie's role to evolve with Zach.

Should I get a couple Bennett witches to come aid? Should I allow her to become the anchor of the other side? So much to think about.

This is my main problem at the moment. But hey, I'll figure it out.

I'm also ready to discuss the effects dying has had on Zach.

Hope you enjoy the chapyer. See ya.

Zach

As we drive down the road I keep replaying it over and over. 'I died.' Was stuck in my head like a broken record. I watch the trees pass quickly in the challenger of Derek's. We're leading Kyle and Katie. When I'd been asked where we were going, I simply told him to drive until we needed gas. I needed to think.

I don't know how to feel about the whole dying thing honestly. On one hand I'm angry. Angry at the vampires who got the drop on me. Angry at myself for being beaten by someone I could have and should have destroyed with ease.

However, on the other hand I'm incredibly happy. I'd just found out another piece to the incredibly complex puzzle that is my true self. Immortal.

That word bounced around my skull like a pinball machine. I'm immortal. I'd seen the show. A snapped neck kills a wolf. I remember Finn In Vincent's body using a neck breaking spell to subdue the wolves who wouldn't submit like Oliver.

I've begun to build a profile on myself.

Able to control transformation.

Speed and strength on par with originals based on my brief exchange with Elijah.

Ability to become stronger when drinking vampire blood.

Much bigger wolf form than I remember in the series.

All this leads to me thinking that I may be some kind of original version of a wolf. I remember the old, eroded carvings in the cave that depicts those 5 beings and the word 'Primordial.'

Maybe that's what they called them. Based on how old the carvings looked when compared to how I Remember the original story carved into the tunnels under Mystic Falls, they must be older.

The ones in the series were 1,000 years old. That means the others are at least that old. I'd say double or triple it. My eyesight couldn't discern anything other than what Elijah described in Virginia.

I'm broken from my thoughts when I notice we've pulled into a gas station. "Hey, we're near Iowa." Derek said. I nod absentmindedly.

He begins to get out of the car only to stop, "when we find a place to stay I'll talk to Kyle and Katie about…."

"Okay." I say. I'm not meaning to be short with him. But I need to get my thoughts in order. I just feel like I'm in a fishtail, and I need to right myself before the next curve or I'm fucked.

As Derek begins to leave I call out, "you saw what happened Derek. You see how dangerous this world can be. Having humans around is going to get them or you killed. It's not an option."

I know I'm being Dickish but I don't care. I need people around me. Having Derek there helped me understand how important a pack is. Even if I'm some original variant of werewolf, I need a pack.

I don't look up at Derek but I know he hears the seriousness and unwavering conviction in my statement. Kyle and Katie can hate me all they want. But if they're going to be around Derek, they'll always be liabilities as humans.

We arrive at the hotel and I immediately begin scouting around. Better to leave them to it. I hope they understand to keep their voices to a low register. No need to be screaming vampires and werewolves with the paper thin walls seperating us and strangers.

I go to the bar. A perfect place to get information about what's going on around me. Walking up to the bartender I gesture with a $100 in my fingers, "a bottle of bourbon. Leave it."

If I wasn't positive he was human the speed with which the young man had the money out of my hand and the bottle in it was less than 2 seconds.

A glass follows the bottle. "Please, let me know where you're sitting and I'll bring a bucket of ice."

I smile and gesture to the lonely corner at the back of the bar before making my way.

I'm not sitting down for 15 seconds when the bucket of ice comes out to me. I put the bottle inside and throw a few in the glass before pouring a bit.

I sit there and listen. One of the amazing perks about supernatural hearing. It's a great info gathering tool if you know how to sift through the droning of peoples lives.

'Heard about a bear attack a little east of us. Bad one. Ripped to shreds he was.'

Bingo. Exactly what I was looking for. Had I not known it would lead to too many questions, I'd have sent that dude a drink in appreciation. They'd just helped me find one vampire I needed to test my new pack members.

Derek

I make sure my voice is low before speaking. We'd been at this for an hour and I was still no closer to getting Kyle to agree to the bite. Katie was silent the whole time. She does that on occasion when she needs to put her thoughts in order before delivering a statement that encompasses all her feelings on a subject.

"Kyle, don't you understand? What happened to Zach will likely be a regular occurrence from what he said. Where we're going is literally run by supernatural creatures. They've been apart of the city with select humans knowing for centuries."

"What does that matter?" He asks.

I sigh. "Buddy, it means we're going to be in a place where vampires and witches roam freely and do pretty much what they want in broad daylight." I say trying to stress the seriousness in my voice.

"I don't want you to follow me to a place like that only to be used against Zach and myself," I begin. Kyle opens his mouth to speak but I cut him off and continue.

"Don't say it won't happen. Zach is a lot of things but he doesn't lie. Regardless of what he says though, I need to feel like your safe. And this is the best way to do that."

"I don't know. You said he doesn't know it will 100% work." Kyle said. Now I realize. He's scared.

"Nothing is 100% Kyle. Anything that claims to be is a lie." I say.

He turns to Katie and raised a brow. "I think Derek is right. Regardless of Zach and his motives, if we go where they're going we'll die. Might as well 'juice up' as much as we can before we go."

Kyle sighs. "Fine. Let him know."

I smile. I send a text to Zach.

They're in.

Zach

I finish the bottle after an hour or two in the bar. Nothing of note happened in those two hours but I didn't care. I'd already gotten what I came for. Information.

There are few things more powerful than information. Whether it can be sold to the highest bidder, or used by myself to my advantage is a win win. That's why I frequently visit bars. I'll have to train Derek and the others to do this once they all become wolves.

As I think of that my phone buzzes. I take it out of my hoodie pocket to see a text from Derek that has a shit eating grin spread across my face.

They're in.

I speed back to the hotel to get down to business. The next full moon is 2 weeks away. I'll bite them the night before.

I knock and then enter the room Kyle and Katie share to see them on the bed while Derek sits on the couch. I make my way to the table and chair, plopping into the seat.

"Alright," I start by grabbing everyone's attention. "Since you've agreed to this let's talk specifics. I'm not going to bite you until we have a place to call our own. I know where I want to have it located as well."

Kyle sighs. "Where?" Knowing he will be the one responsible for paying for said home.

I smile and speak. "New Orleans."

_

Two weeks later

We pull up outside the house. It's beautiful. Not only is it beautiful, but it's not located in the quarter where all the shit goes down. I'll need to go back to Mystic Falls soon as well.

Maybe I can drop little hints to the originals about New Orleans.

But I put that out of my mind. I step into the classic style house that's indicative of the area we live while Kyle speaks. "5 bedrooms. 3 bathrooms. We'll be comfortable at least."

I nod. "Are the two of you ready?" I ask not looking to the two.

Kyle sighs. "As ready as I'll ever be."

I sigh. "Very well."

In a blur of motion everything changed.

Next night

Kyle and Katie had slept most of the next day. I guess wolf venom is potent.

However after waking up there was only a few hours until they shifted. "Let's go." I say walking toward the location I'd scouted yesterday in preparation for this event.

I gave them the same speech I gave to Derek. About allowing it in. To let it overtake you.

Sure enough, after a little more time than Derek both became wolves. Both of them were different shades of grey. The main thing was their cold steel blue eyes.

All they'd drank since waking up was vampire blood. I don't know why but it turned their eyes blue.

I quickly bust out of my clothes into my own wolf form and speak into their minds. 'Can you guys hear me?'

They surprised look on the two wolf's faces tells me all I need to know. 'Good. Then let's go. Time to hunt.' I say then let out a bone chilling howl that echoes around the Bayou.

Authors note: hey guys. So next time I write it will be going back to mystic falls, getting entangled with our green eyed witch, and finally meeting the big bad hybrid.

Looking forward to that. Hope you all enjoy the chapter. I know it's not as detailed as the one where Derek shifted, but I'm so anxious to begin the originals that I can't find it in myself to apologize genuinely.

See ya!

Next chapter will be updated first on this website. Come back and continue reading tomorrow, everyone!
