Primordial Soul's Rebirth

CHAPTER 403 - No use trying to be peaceful.

Elves, the ones with the highest number and the highest potential (except a few rare races, of course) when it came to magic, were the ones who technically ruled the black tortoise empire.

They were fair and just, and they never showed any partiality toward anyone and treated everyone, at least in their empire, with respect. Or so was what people who were not from this empire thought.

It was true that elves were a race with virtuous hearts, and they couldn't stand injustice, but that was before they met humans. Once the black tortoise empire took in the humans, letting them all live with them, the peaceful races of the empire started to change.

They started awakening the traits of humans. They awakened arrogance, greed, lust, and many other things, changing their own nature, and that was something that remained within them now, years after the humans were kicked out of the empire.

The elves, being the ones who were the ones affected most by the human tendencies, turned into something they never were.

They started slave trading—the thing they used to abhor. Not all of the elves were like that, after all, but there were those who were, and the others just ignored that.

Those elves—the ones who were no better than humans in nature—would do all kinds of stuff, and Vaelith, who was one of those types of elves, had been seen doing many unknightly things, but as he was an imperial knight, no one said anything to him.

One of those was that he couldn't control himself when he saw an inferior being with beauty—everyone knew about this. For him, any being that wasn't an elf was inferior, excluding the dragons, of course.

He would pick those inferior girls and play with them till they died. He wouldn't touch them or have sex with them; that was below him to do it. They were inferior races, not someone he would take pleasure in fucking.

The only pleasure they could give him was screaming as he tortured and broke them by different methods.

He lusted for their screams and not their moans. That was why, whenever a slave trader, who was a dwarf most of the time since only they dealt with the trades in the black tortoise empire, had to deliver the slaves inside the imperial capital, they would wait for Vaelith's shift to end.

That was what that dwarf was doing today as well, enjoying some food at a particular inn that he stayed at every time, showing off his new merchandise to his other friends, laughing, and telling them about the fortune he was going to earn this time as he had some really high-quality products this time.

What that dwarf didn't know was that there were a bunch of ears that were listening to that conversation as well. It was, of course, Alex and his group who happened to see this dwarf being so proud of what he was doing.

No one could blame him, though. Most of the dwarfs only cared about profits, no matter what they had to do, so it was no surprise that he was happy about it.

But this gave Alex a chance to get a free pass for the capital.

He was only looking for a pass in the first place because of Emberlyn.

"We shouldn't break in there. We are here to meet her, not fight with her; I want to take things peacefully."

This was what she wanted, but Alex, knowing full well that Emberlyn, as a protagonist, not facing any problems, was out of the question. No matter how stealthy or secretive she was, there would be something that would make her meeting with Bulma, the black tortoise, a big challenge.

"We will have to force our way in, I can assure you."

That was why Alex had said those words, certain that his words were going to be true, and although Emberlyn found it disturbing why Alex was so sure about it, she still wanted to try the peaceful way, making Alex shrug and agree to her words.

That was how the slave trader's fate was written, and the guy died in his sleep, having all of his memories devoured by Alex, who, by using his disguise ability, turned into the guy.

As for the girls, they were all demi-humans, so Alex teleported them right into Theron's throne room, where listening was going on.

The people of Ferox, upon realizing what was going on, grew enraged, already thinking of ways to exact their revenge on the elves and the dwarves since no one would like the people of their own race being treated like slaves.

Alex, however, returned back to the room where the dwarf had been staying and waited for the time the dwarf had decided to leave in order to avoid Vaelith, only to find the guy standing right at the entrance to the imperial capital.

At that moment, Alex already knew that Emberlyn's protagonist aura had done its work, and now they were going to have to use the forceful way, but he waited since he knew that Emberlyn would still want to solve this peacefully.

His patience, however, ran out the moment Vaelith's hand moved toward Alice and his eyes scanned their bodies.

Vaelith's fate was fixed at that moment, but as he held the guy's hand, he saw Emberlyn looking at him with hopeful eyes, making him give the guy a last chance, but burning the letter with imperial insignia was the last string stopping Alex.

'Ah, I don't think I can go with the peaceful approach anymore.'

He sighed inwardly as he shook his head at Emberlyn, making the woman sigh in pity. She knew that she wouldn't be able to stop Alex anymore, but it was for the better.

If she, by chance, did stop Alex, and Vaelith did something that might anger Alex more than the empire could handle, then it would turn into the worst situation possible.

Her friend was strong, someone who would defend even the golden dragon's full-powered attack, but when it came to Alex, she wasn't sure about it, so she just nodded her head, making a grin form on Alex's face.

"See? I told you that we should just force our way in."

With those words being his last words as the dwarf, Alex canceled his transformation, making a bright light shine in the surroundings, tensing both Vaelith and Thranduil, but before they could even make a move...

*Woosh—Slash*

A wooshing sound of something zooming through the air was heard before a slash made of a dark red mass of energy moved toward Vaelith at a speed he couldn't even perceive, cutting off his right arm before the red energy slowly started to eat away the guy's shoulder.

As the light slowly started to dim down, Vaelith finally realized what had happened. Feeling the mind-numbing pain in his right shoulder, he kneeled on the ground.

"ARGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"

A beastly roar felled with nothing but agony left his throat, sending shivers down everyone's spine, but their eyes soon peeled off the imperial knight, moving toward the one responsible for the situation of a legendary-leveled being.

*Step**Step*...

The shine was still there, but it was slowing going down as his long legs could be clearly seen by now, moving toward Vaelith, who was letting out guttural roars, clutching his shoulder, only to have his eyes almost pop out of the sockets as his palm of the left hand also started to disintegrate.

"W-WHAT THE HELL?! GAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"

The intensity of his pain and the volume of his scream only increased, but the people in the surroundings were frozen as Alex's face finally came into their view.

Most were awed, some stunned, but there was one who was horrified the moment he saw Alex's face. It was Thranduil, the other imperial knight. He knew exactly who Alex was. Enjoy exclusive content from empire

'T-The Demon Lord!'

Thranduil exclaimed in shock and disbelief, his mind getting rilled up thinking about what the demon lord would want from the imperial capital and...

'How the hell did he come this deep in the first place?!'

Alex, on the other hand, oblivious to Thranduil's thought process, stood right in front of Vaelith, who, upon finding someone's shoe in his line of sight, gritted his teeth, still roaring in pain, glaring at whoever it was, only to have his mind go blank the moment he saw Alex.

'T-The Demon Lord...'

Even with all the pain that made it hard for him to even think of anything, he still had that thought pass through his head as he saw Alex staring down at him with a smile.

"How do you feel being disintegrated slowly as each one of your cells feels like their being burned with the hottest fire you could think of?"

With a friendly smile plastered on his face, Alex bent down a bit, staring into Vaelith's pain-filled eyes, intentionally slowing down the speed of destruction energy devouring his body, wanting to give him the most pain possible.
